Luke 6:37 Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;

The least Christian people are people who go around judging and claiming they are more Christian than other people. If you are picking who to hang out with, looks at their actions. How do they treat the poor, the sick and the hungry? That’s says more about who they are than what church they go to.

We have to be careful in using scriptures lest we lose focus of what Jesus really meant by saying so. Using this verse in this context is telling Christians not to rebuke sin for they might be judging. Study the verse well and understand it.

Honestly, going by their presuppositions and doctrines, Catholics, just like Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, SDA and many others in your area are not Christians. They are either cults or fringe groups.
However, there are some individual in these denominations who are Christians by grace.

Judging Doctrine is different from judging sin.

In matters pertaining to DOCTRINE, we are advised to be discerning. We must be clear about what is right or wrong. As a result, we will know who is following the Bible and who is not. This is NOT called JUDGING.
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.(1 Thess 5:21, KJV)
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.(1 Jn 4:1, KJV)
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. (John 7:24, KJV)

In matters pertaining to SIN, all of us are on the same platform. No one is above the other. Therefore we must not look down on someone. We must not condemn others. We must not harbor hatred towards the wrongdoer. We must not have an unforgiving attitude. If we do so, WE ARE JUDGING, and God will use the same benchmark against us. This is what Luke 6: 37-38 and its parallel Mt 7:1 are talking about.
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven (Lk 6:37, KJV)

This is the difference between judging doctrine and judging sin. We must not confuse the two.

there is actually a pretty good chance that one detail you mentioned here is incorrect...some recent scholars have made a compelling case for identifying ben asher...the most important editor of the masoretic text...as a karaite jew...that is one not of the talmudic tradition...
The cop out word "roughly" doesn't do it for you here? It gets harder and harder to be completely accurate, when the history itself is so fluid in its use of terms. Our only out here might be a 1000 page footnoted treatise?

You do not need to look too far if you want to find fault, look at revelation "letter to the churches"
you are beginning to sound like pilate, but anyway i think Jesus answer pilate and that is my answer (kingdom), but if you are asking about eternal kingdom, that is after the kingdom of this world. (rev 11)
But if you are a catholic who still give reverence to the things made with hands you are far from that kingdom, but if you REPENT the kingdom of God is near.

The below is verses is where I worship in Spirit and truth, not of this world.
[h=3]Hebrews 8[/h]Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

8 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; [SUP]2[/SUP]a minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. [SUP]3 [/SUP]For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. [SUP]4 [/SUP]For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: [SUP]5 [/SUP]who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount. [SUP]6 [/SUP]But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

So there was no canon of the bible/canonical bible in existence until 1512???? What exactly was the bible you mention that had to exist before 1512 in order for Catholics to "not accept to take out of"?

As said in another post, there have been over the years councils, that said yes this is and that is not. The last one was in the council of Trent and what is now called the cannon was derived from that council meeting. Yet the Catholic religion did not agree.
There are many writings that are not recognized, such as the writings from St. Thomas. And was omitted as a Holy Ghost inspired writing from God.
There is much to learn from God whom truly is actually our teacher to all truth, if each that believe will listen to God that has by the Spirit of truth taken up residence in each of us to each of us truth.
Hebrews 8 is a good place to start to see this truth
Thanks Shinji

True Catholics are not Christians. True Catholics follow a works based salvation where they believe that grace is only given through doing the sacraments of the Catholic church. If any Catholic begins to really study what their religion teaches and then compare it to the Holy Bible. They will see that Bible believing Christianity is totally different to Roman Catholicism. And that is because Roman Catholicism is not Scriptural. When I say Holy Bible, I am referring to the King James Authorized Bible. You won't find the words "monk," "pope," "nuns," anywhere in Scripture. And neither will you find "purgatory" in there. Roman Catholics, true roman Catholics are no saved.

I am not talking about a professing Catholic who is just being led astray and has been greatly deceived. A person who has decided to trust Christ, if that person does not spend time in the Scriptures, and study them. Then that person can be deceived easily. So while that person professes to be a Catholic, he is really not, because he has no idea what Catholicism is all about and what Catholicism teaches.

It is the same thing with the other cults and heretical movements out there like Seventh Day Adventist, there could be a few genuine Christians in that movement, but because those genuine Christians don't spend time in the Book, those same Christians can be deceived.

Same thing goes with the Charismatic cult or the Campbellites. As Christians, our only hope for not being deceived, is staying in God's Book and allowing the Holy Ghost to lead us into all truth. And of course if a person is truly saved, then eventually they will leave the heretical movement since they will receive chastisement. All sons of God receive Chastisement from the Heavenly Father (see Hebrews 12:6-10).

So again, I am talking about a person who is truly counting on the sacraments for salvation. That person may be nice, and sincere. But still that person is on his way to a burning Hell because he has not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ for his salvation. Salvation is by grace through faith only. It is not of works in this dispensation (The Dispensation of Grace).

Therefore like I said at the beginning, true Catholics are not Christians.

Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

i didn't say you had to know church history...but when a person claims that they have church history on their side...as the person i was responding to claimed...is it too much to expect them to actually know what they are talking about?

going to any Church sitting in its pews or behind the pulpit, does not make one a Believer and saved, anymore than one going to McDonald's make them a hamburger.

Always keep in mind there are various types of judgment, and we are taught specifics on two, at least.

Yeshua teaches us to judge for ourselves what is right. If we do not practice this, we are deemed hypocrites.

Yeshua teaches about judging to damnation, with the judgment we judge we will be judged. Judge not and we will not be judged.

The first we are ordered to put into practice, the second we are warned not to practice.

If all you so called Christians who go bashing other churches wanna know what it means to be a true Christian, read this guys posts lol love you too brother! We can ALL learn from you! You're a blessing to this place!!!

Prayerfully, in spite of, this, praying God gets all the credit and thanks Charlie, in all humility from God the author and finisher of all those that do believe in God through Christ
Thank you and pray for us all just to be available for God to use us in God's type of love best described in 1 Cor. 13:4-13

For God today can only be worshipped in Spirit and truth
John 4:23
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Would you still give reverence to things made by hands if you believed the True God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? NO.
but if you do, you may not have truly believed.
How can you Repent, if you do not believed. And how can you enter the Kingdom of God, if you worship false gods.[/QUOTE

When born again of God and from God, one does Love as God does in 1 cor 13:4-13, best description of the engrafted word God puts on those that he re-birth's in his Spirit, and this is only done through belief in Christ and the cross, where this gift from God was made possible
So by his death
[h=3]Colossians 1:22[/h]Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]22 [/SUP]in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
Hmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what does any human have to do with the above verse except to either believe God or not?

So now can you move onto the new life in the Spirit of God by the resurrected Christ from Father

Doctrine is to believe upon Christ

[SUP]3 [/SUP]But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. [SUP]4 [/SUP]For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. [SUP]5 [/SUP]Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

How can anyone be called born again, if he still gives reverence ot the things made by hands.

Believe in God (the true God who does not dwell in things made by hands). WHich God do you believe?

Let me ask you directly homewardbound, do you give reverence to things made by hands?

Mmmmmmmmmmm hamburger!!! Brother I'm on a 10 day detox and you just reminded me of hamburgers hahahaha I only wish I could turn into a walking hamburger right now. Almost as much as I wish I could go to heaven by just saying "lord lord" lol brother, you gave me the first laugh of the day. I'm cracking up here in my truck at 6am hahahaaaa

Can the guy who started this thread define "Christian" for us so the question can be answered?

There are many versions of catholics now, like couples for Christ, singles for Christ, but are they really Christians of the bible?

No.

Revelation 21:8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” (ESV)

Roman Catholicism, is not biblical in its teachings, certainly they use the bible, but so do Mormons and Jehovah's witness'.

This of course is different from saying that all Roman Catholic's are not Christians. I believe most believe and follow the teachings of Rome so therefore their faith is misplaced and not faith based upon grace and more importantly the finished work of Jesus. I believe God will call his children no matter where they are. will they stay there..?

To tell you the truth, it is not right to make a generalization and label all Catholics as being Christian. Matthew 7:1 says Judge not so you not be judge. Also according to this verse, it is also not right to tell someone such as people who are Catholic that they are "headed to hell." Being Christian or not being Christian has nothing to do with church affiliation. The truth is a real Christian can belong to any church including the Catholic church just as long as they believe in God and do the will of God such as keeping the law and the commandments. Membership to a any church no matter what denomination it is itself does not make you a Christian any more than going to a garage does not make you anymore than a car. Plus according to the Catholic church, those who are baptized in the Catholic church are seen as Catholic by the church for life. Not everyone is the same, and God commands that we love one another (whether Christian or not Christian, whether believer or unbeliever) just as God loves us. There is no way one can love God whilst hating thy neighbor and passing judgement is definitely not love.

5And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another. 6And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love. 7I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. 8Watch out that you do not lose what we[1] have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.

and study there church methods,(the way, they do things, in the church.)

the fact is, believing in jesus christ, make you a christain. should have read your bible more, before you quoted judge not or be judged. lol
