@MaryM , are you or someone you know and love is dealing with some difficult disease like cancer or something?
I’m asking you this because most of your topics deal with the subject of human suffering and human suffering is a subject that bothers me a lot too and gets me down sometimes.

The only thing that lifts me up is the message of Jesus and His promise that will return and of course miracles throughout history which defy logic and explanation.
I’ve even opened a Miracles topic in this forum because I love talking about miracles when faced with the condition of human suffering.

God bless you and we are not alone here. God is going to make this fallen world, whole again. Big hugs.
I have illness but not a major one. I do have friends who are seriously sick.
It focuses me on how wonder it will be to go to heaven, where pain will be more. I will not miss this world at all.

marym, think of the brand new perfect body you are going to receive if you ae born again! working, negativity, pessimism, & a defeatist attitude will harbor your advance to healing. everybody has body problems. i was born legally blind & i have done much better in life than my 4 brothers in life.

I am getting sick a lot these days, my health is going downhill as never before.

When I become ill, I also feel great depression, black pressures oppressing me, a hopelessness that takes away my strength. After time, treatment and much fervent prayer, I come through, feel better for a while, my mind feels light as my body is released from pain, until another problem gets me. The cycle repeats.

So from a Christian view, is disease essentially of the devil, sent to oppress us? Then through payer Jesus heals us. He being all about healing, light and life, sent to save us from the darkness.

That's how it seems to me, but what do others think?

I looks more to me that you get sick from stress. Stress wears out the body and makes it harder to heal. What's worse is that demonic spirits can take advantage and lie to you. Check yourself first if you have sinned, but if you haven't, then those spirits are taking advantage of your sickness to make you feel like this sickness is your fault.

But you're probably wondering why God would even let you go through bouts of sickness? Well, it could be that He wants you to learn to go through life in His Spirit, strength and wisdom. Notice how much His most useful servants (Paul and the other apostles for example) went through so much tribulation, not just with opposing groups, opposing spirits, but also from sickness as well? It's not because God was mad at them, but oftentimes the only way to cause His servants to stick close to Him is to let them go through adversity. I think sticking close to Him allowed more of His power work in their lives so that they were able to do so much more to advance the Lord's kingdom.

So your bouts of sickness may be like that. He wants you to learn to live life in His Spirit, strength and wisdom.

Closing out my eight decade on this tired old earth, it has become my joy to thank God any time something like this occurs, When younger I would pray and be better always but with age, I have come to thank God f, for each problem in health is another step up Jacob's ladder for me, it seems.. There have been a couple of times I actually thought I was at the edge of Jordan about to cross over into the Promised Land, but I got a nudge from above, and the knowledge, "Not yet, silly."
Everything is a wonder and a blessing from the Father.
No, I am not about to try to hurry my departure from this strange land, but Iwill not concern myself with my time coming either. Praise God, for He is worthy, not I.
Now you be blessed with His peace in all instances, always knowing He loves you very much.
