I'm sure I've asked this question before but are my sins forgiven? I watched porn again last night :( I almost always feel bad and like I'm unworthy afterwards. And a horrible voice in my head tells me you'll just be forgiven and I know that's the voice of the devil. I know I have to stop but I'm like a different person when I watch it. I know I'm born again but I thought the willful sinning would go away by now.

Dear Monnkai I know how you feel I have been backsliding to it too and it troubles me and I know why for myself
1.I liked it in the past
2.whenever I was typically in pain I sought it
Now as time goes on though I see it for what it really is...
"Sorrow",we both may think it is "pleasurable" or merely a "reflection of our desires" but it's really "Sorrow" because we want to be in a relationship with the opposite gender but we can't presently and so in times of "reflection" or more likely "severe pain" we turn to it.
It's wrong of course but not unforgivable and after accepting Jesus our sins are forgiven and just as in important when we "have the holy spirit" we can still "help others" and "teach the bible" without having to "fear" if such a sin will "impede" our work for Christ.
Your sins are indeed forgiven through Christ but it certainly doesn't "hurt" to apologize to God/Jesus I do so myself each time I feel I have done something that it is "wrong" and "willful" and it "helps me" in fact right there after I have felt "uplifted and encouraged" to teach the bible as if that with "asking for forgiveness" after despite it being "unnecessary" it is "spiritually uplifting" and allows for some "peace of mind" because as I have said before "remorse" for sin and "humbling one's self to God/Jesus" is certainly a good practice.
Also I would suggest that you try to "think on" if you are still having "pain" because I have found that "pain" leads to "irritability" and "sorrow" so instead of worrying so much on your "questionable possible tthoughts" try to "identify" the "real problem" because truthfully thoughts like that come and go and can "inspire" one to seek out "past things of sorrow" but it's not as "powerful" when you can "identify" the "cause of such behaviour".
Naturally certain things can "help" too such as church, gospel music, reading the bible, watching kid like programming like maybe PBS kids(seriously it helps me) but also try not to get yourself "worked up" don't think of this "sorrow market" as anything but a "nuisance" that in time you can "overcome" through Jesus because the more you "think of it" the more you'll "seek it".(found out that most my head and ear pressure was from needing to get ear wax out and my seeking "things of sorrow" wasn't out of mere "desire" more of a "pain inflicted" result my mind reverting to "past behavior" out of old "habit")

I agree it is troubling. I agree it does feel good to apologize. Necessary or not. I've been struggling with this for 20 years so it's getting a little old

Willful sinning will never just go away , because it's willful. We have to make the choice every day to feed the flesh or feed the spirit. The Bible does say that you won't be tempted above what you can handle , but that he will make a way to escape the temptation. So next time you're tempted to sin.. look for that way to escape. Thankfully we do have a loving and forgiving God that says to cast all our care on him cause he cares for us.

Remember the story in the bible about the woman who was about to be stoned to death for adultery, but Jesus stepped in and said "Let he without sin cast the first stone!" And then the crowd left and Jesus said to her "Where are those that condemn you?" And she said "They've all left my lord" Then Jesus said "Then neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more"

Jesus forgave her of adultery. When you lust after women in a sexual manner you're committing fornication/adultery in your heart... Jesus forgives you just as he forgave that woman..... Think about this... the woman actually committed the sex act, and you are simply thinking about it... So why wouldn't Jesus forgive you just as much as her..

Becareful of what you encourage your fellow bros and sisters, especially if you’re implying that “thinking about something sinful” isn’t as bad as “doing the sinful act” for it says in Matthew 5:27 & 28:

27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old,[c]‘You shall not commit adultery.’[d] 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Blessings.

First of all, your sins are forgiven, Christ died for all the sins of the world past, present, and future. But this does not mean you will not come under discipline from God for your sin, so it is best to turn away from temptation and sin of all types as much as possible. Confession of sin gets you back in fellowship and filled with the Holy Spirit. This is where you should live as often as possible.

Secondly you must understand that porn is addictive. There are a huge number of men and women all over the world that are suffering from this addiction. Porn is one of the most lucritive businesses in the world so it's not ever going to go away. I suggest you get educated about this to better understand what's going on. There is more and more research being done on this addiction, there are books available you can read. A good starting point is this very informative website:

Apostle Paul said that those who are of Christ is a new creature. it means you should have abandon watching porn.

To know that if you're forgiven, your past misdeeds you were doing before, you should not be doing again.

It is a good start to pray asking forgiveness but you need to do your part for good change. you must stay away from all appearances of evil as Paul taught (1 Thessalonians 5:22)

Instead of watching porn, either watch Bible stories or read the Bible.

the better you should marry because Apostle Paul said that it is better to marry than to burn.

BTW if you feel remorseful when doing wrong, it means that God is making you to compel to repent and stay away from doing more misdeeds because if you do not feel remorse, it means God has abandoned you.

Moni,

Something I read today that will help you.

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”
Rom. 8:37

We go to Christ for forgiveness, and then too often look to the law for power to fight our sins. Paul thus rebukes us, “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?” Take your sins to Christ’s cross, for the old man can only be crucified there: we are crucified with him. The only weapon to fight sin with is the spear which pierced the side of Jesus. To give an illustration-you want to overcome an angry temper, how do you go to work? It is very possible you have never tried the right way of going to Jesus with it. How did I get salvation? I came to Jesus just as I was, and I trusted him to save me. I must kill my angry temper in the same way? It is the only way in which I can ever kill it. I must go to the cross with it, and say to Jesus, “Lord, I trust thee to deliver me from it.” This is the only way to give it a death-blow. Are you covetous? Do you feel the world entangle you? You may struggle against this evil so long as you please, but if it be your besetting sin, you will never be delivered from it in any way but by the blood of Jesus. Take it to Christ. Tell him, “Lord, I have trusted thee, and thy name is Jesus, for thou dost save thy people from their sins; Lord, this is one of my sins; save me from it!” Ordinances are nothing without Christ as a means of mortification. Your prayers, and your repentances, and your tears-the whole of them put together-are worth nothing apart from him. “None but Jesus can do helpless sinners good;” or helpless saints either. You must be conquerors through him who hath loved you, if conquerors at all. Our laurels must grow among his olives in Gethsemane.

-- Charles Spurgeon
