Well I've only heard of the Hillsong people, but I had thought they were pretty much just homosexuals. Not even going to parse words about it, but most the "Christian" music scene seems just like a big old LGBT march. I wouldn't even call them wolves in sheep's clothing because it's so obvious you only have to take one look at them to figure it out.

I agree with this assessment, it is an extremely effeminate movement.

CCM is a part of the modern day apostasy which is connected with the Emergent Church Movement.

Yea that's pretty fruity. It makes me think of how I noticed years a go a pattern where a lot of the churchy people they will show me their little music idols and tell me how they're great "Christian" music and yadda yadda. I will tell them I think that they are gay bluntly. The fanboys and fangirls will get mad at me and protest. It was a general question just to bring out conversation.

It isnt the songs that are typically the problem. Most are so theologically bare that most modern churches accept their songs. I have listened to songs from all 3. The songs I have heard will not lead anyone astray but that is what they are designed to be. As the songs are linked to these churches. So people naturally who love the songs are drawn to listen to messages of the churches. And the church's message are what is often considered non-biblical. If you take this position then this is like a covert operation.

Just how threatening or dangerous must be decided by each individual.

Why not post lyrics to a typical hillsong or elevation song and people can make up their own mind.
I dont really know what kind of deal hillsong has with churches that play their music or how it all works.

With secular music, its by number downloads and publishing rights to their catalogue and royalties come in from that. But not sure if its the same kind if thing with Christian music.

since I am not a musician and never in worship team, I dont really know how they choose the songs everyone sings each week. Some churches treat it like a gig set with a slow song and then a fast song etc. I used to attend one church where they sang the same song three times in a row. Was thoroughly tired of that song at the end. Everytime they played it you could hear the congregation kinda groan.

No church ever seems to take requests either. If they treated it more like kareoke, everyone would join in and pick their faves but I notice bands wanna hog the pulpit and control what everyone sings.

Not to get bogged down on lyrics because most of their songs are very shallow. It was a general question to bring about conversation. Maybe someone has good evidence of lyrics being badly proclaimed. I personally do not. The music I heard sounds just as simple compared to all other modern Christian music. The problem lies in should the church see these bands as tools that lead people to the teachings of those churches and how dangerous that is.

Many of the songs these groups sing and have enamoured were original songs by Michael W. Smith, Russ Taff, and from the Bill Gaither singers. I absolutely do not believe that MWS.Taff, or Gaither are twisting scripture. But my biggest issue towards Hillsong and Bethel are Brian Houston and Bill Johnson. I won't go into detail about either of these men. If we remove the Pastors from the equation, their songs are pretty awesome.

Jesus is about the NEW COVENANT, the D-B-R is how He changed the process. And what do you think a New Covenant is vs the Old? A NEW BEGINNING. Why are you nitpicking on something you should be applying?

The only thing that represents literal and accurate Christian theology is singularly the Bible. The end.

That being said, if you're going to judge which music qualifies as anointed soley off of the premise of how closely it parrots Bible verses, then all lyrics that don't quote the Bible verbatim are literally inaccurate. Why stop with music, though. Nearly everything else in the entire world doesn't quote the Bible including books, movies, tv shows, school, sports, the government, clothing brands, advertisements, even the church itself many times and the list never ends. Every idle world is not Biblical.

I think we are in the world and though we are not conforming this world, the implication isn't that we bury our heads in the sand and try to ignore everything. God created this world for us to enjoy and He created us to love one another and live in peace.

So I think that it's a matter of personal conscience what music you want to listen to. Don't let people convince you that you're on a path to hell because you're listening to Hillsong. Amazing.

I am ordained, yes. And joining this site was contingent because of this Covid-19. I rather enjoy seeing everyone's views, even those who purposely attack others for their beliefs. It has opened my eyes to many things. One being, how many use God as a platform to tear other Believers down. The other being, more insight to the specifics of Doctrines I have only been aware of and not familiar with. It definitely is an eye opener. Makes me wonder if we cannot get along on a silly internet platform, how do we think we are getting along in Heaven. Which furthers that thought that some here most likely believe they "are the only one's" who are going to Heaven. And that saddens me because they have fooled themselves by their own Doctrine which "does not" match the Doctrine Jesus Preached!
