So you think if they had NOT eaten the fruit, they would still have died eventually anyway? Death didn't enter the world until AFTER they sinned.
I think it's safe to assume that they did eat of the tree of life whenever they felt like it. And that's why they were removed from the garden so that they would no longer be able to partake of it's benefits, and so eventually die.

lolol...I've always understood the account of Adam and Eve as the two of them being innocent/ignorant until eating of the tree of knowledge, not "immortal." I'm kind of ignorant myself, though.

Genesis 3:22 teaches us otherwise concerning the Tree of Life.
Then the Lord God said, “Look, the human beings have become like us, knowing both good and evil. What if they reach out, take fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? Then they will live forever!”

Seriously, how can one reasonably assume that Adam and Eve didn't eat of the tree of life. They had permission to do so. But they had to keep eating of it to remain alive. It's a picture of Christ. We don't take one bite and live forever; we have to keep eating else we will spiritually die.

This belief that it only took one bite of the tree of life to live forever encapsulates the essence of OSAS and New Grace beliefs: That we only have to take one bite of the bread of life to live forever. That would be nice, but it doesn't work that way. We have to continually eat of the bread of life.
