The holy spirit convicts us of things in our lives that need dealing with. Safe to assume he starts with the most serious. Normally overeating would not be the most serious issue the average person needs firstly dealing with. GE will get round to it as and when necessary.

Jesus also said to Pilate that the religious people who turned Him over to Pilate had the greater sin....not sure what the "greater sin"..is..I'll have to study that one out.
In God's eyes being fearful is just as bad as being a homosexual..both will get you an eternal dip in the lake of fire in Rev.21:8

Well you go right ahead and abide in His teaching, and I'll continue to abide in Him, who is the Truth.
We sure do daily need the Gospel, as the old nature (natural man) continually wants to go along the course that is ...well, natural.
The Gospel makes no sense to the natural way of thinking, whether it is coming from the world or our own reasoning.
So we agree, in Gods sight some sin is worse than others, good. Charles Spurgeon, who you often quote agrees.
In my view overeating will keep bo one out of heaven, but I am sorry, your question speaks of naivety. There are sins, that if not dealt with will stop a person crossing over from being a slave of sin to a slave of righteousness leading to holiness. You should know that.
Paul says if we are a slave to sin it leads to death.
You have to rightly divide the word

Being a slave to sin(the sin nature) can be a person who's focus is trying to get rid of it. They are a slave to their sin nature because their focus is trying to cleanup the old man.
Being sin focused is being a slave to sin, even if the focus is "fighting it."
And the holy spirit only speaks the Word.

So..then you would agree that it is possible for someone to follow after the flesh ... basically sinning all their lives..like being the woman that is constantly being a glutton and still go to heaven.
It would be much better for the lady to hear about the grace of Christ and be free from the torment and condemnation that always comes with sin. God's grace in Christ is wonderful!..He is a good, loving Father!

.....and here is the greek word being used by Paul.."apostasy" is defined here by Paul and he goes on to describe what this falling away from the faith is...I like to use scriptures in context..it kinda gives one a good perspective ...

It's in knowing who you are in Christ - who is the truth and the faith....this not marrying and not eating certain foods to keep yourself "separated" from others..is a form of self-effort and reliance on a D.I.Y. self-righteousness/holiness mindset.
This is "departing from the faith - apostasy"....... people creating their own righteousness/holiness through their works of the flesh by self-effort...
It has the "appearance " of good but it denies the power to effect real change ...which is Christ in us and His life.

I usually agree with you on all that you say, but tell me what scriptures are you basing the opinion that some sins are worse then others ???
Jesus in Luke 13 addressed this issue as he asked a man if he thought one group of sinners was worse then another, then Jesus addressed him and told him "NO" and unless he repented of his sins he also would perish !!!
If you are a habitual liar that does not make you any less/worse of a sinner then a habitual murderer, both will be sent to the lake of fire unless they repent of those ways !!!
Again, you appear sadly not to understand the work of sanctification ( or behaviour changes as you put it)
Paul never preached anyone was sinless in the flesh. But he did state if you are a slave to sin it leads to death. I wonder from your posts if you understand what he meant.
There are certain sins Tha if not dealt with will stop a person crossing over from being a slave of sin to a slave of righteousness leading to holiness. Certain sins, if not dealt with will stop spiritual growth. They will ensure sin remains your master and you remain sins slave.
This is basic to the faith, you should know it.

This here shows you do not know the biblical understanding of being a slave to sin, as the Apostle John explains the struggling Christian in 1 John 5 and clearly shows this will not lead them to eternal punishment.
Thus when applied to what Paul said about being a slave to sin (serving sin) in Romans, can not be the same standing because Paul said that way leads to eternal death.
Therefore you would have John and Paul contradict, can't happen !!!

We would agree God has never changed.
Did all sin( breaking the law) under the old covenant receive the same punishment?

The only difference in sins that Paul spoke on was the one's that still control us, or the the one's we still struggle with in stopping. The other thing he spoke on was the common slip up here or there we all do as we mature in the faith.
He never states it is okay to continue deliberately doing any sins, or places them in a list to where you are safe if you only do these but will definitely go to hell if do these. There is no such teaching in the Word of God !!!
