Oh my gosh I went to my first potluck dinner ever at a church. The food was very awful. Is that normal? I'm not a picky eater actually but my goodness was it dry and bad and...very sugary. Maybe there is something to the adage that too many cooks ruin the pot...

sorry to hear that....the ones I have been too had all sorts of excellent food...fried chicken, lasagna, spaghetti, ham and beans, those little sausages in bbq sauce in a crock pot, chicken and dumplings, cakes, pies, hot dogs for kids, etc........HAHA

The speaking is in respect to consoling in private matters. Men should ask their wives at home just as wives should ask their husband at home as they honor one another . Christ is the preacher, as in we do not need any man to teach us (men or woman) The motive of operation of the antichrists.
What is separate is the deacons , bishops (men). They are involved in church discipline for both the man and the woman as marriage counselors, or relationship conselours . They have a qualification as the husband of "one wife" showing they can manage their own affairs. One who is divorced is not permitted no matter how much wisdom one might think they have.
1Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
Titus 1:6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly
That would disqualify my own self from becoming a deacon. But not from preaching.Knowing Christ causes the increase as we plant the incorruptible seeds and water it, as having nothing to do with male or female. (creatures)

HAHAHHAAH A true story....I moved to Arkansas in 1990 to get my life straight and away from a life of drugs......And I attended a little church that my brother was preaching at in the North East that sat in the rice fields of Arkansas....one Sunday we got invited to the "Grants" for lunch in an old farm house sitting in the Middle of the Rice fields, TIN roof, MID SUMMER, temp was 100000 degrees, 100% humidity, cracks in the walls and they had just gotten running water and inside plumbing like two months before...300000 wasps, mosquitoes and flies buzzing around and this old lady, beat red in the face cooking on a wood fired stove in the kitchen where it was like 130 F ....I am thinking....oh great........well come time for lunch and we walked into the dining area and the table was filled with enough food to feed 20 people and there were only 5 of us.....come to find out she always cooked enough on Sunday for the whole week.......
It was some of the best food I had ever eaten......never forget it...can still see her face...........her hair in a bun, long floral dress, apron on, white/grey hair and face as red as a tomato...................crazy hey
