The entity referred to as a "he" in II Thessalonians holds back the mystery of iniquity (read the spirit of antichrist). The early church held the restrainer to be a political power, most likely Rome (Acts 18:16), that restrained the spirit of antichrist that inhabited the Christ rejecting nation of Judaea. The Rapture Cult, seeking to buttress their doctrine of the church's removal, developed the idea the restrainer is the Holy Spirit, who would then be removed with the church. Scripture never shows the Holy Ghost in a martial role, but the archangel Michael is frequently seen in the militant sort of spiritual warfare required to restrain the power inherent in the rejection of Christ (see Daniel 10).
It can be Michael, the Holy Spirit, or the church.
No matter your eschatological position, you are guessing like everyone else.
Test fit any of the three.
Any of them work, and fit the pretrib rapture position.
I can defend the pretrib rapture without half of the verses you guys claim are my source.

Your cult knows not the pretrib rapture doctrine.

...as you are currently demonstrating.

No, I am referencing scripture. My (or your) "eschatological position" counts for nada.

The pre-trib "rapture" theory is a relatively new arrival on the apostasy platter. I suggest you curb the ego, stop partaking of that dogpile and rather come to the table with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit, who gives liberally to all who will ask.

No it isn't
My position is from God's Word.
You literally made up where the pretrib rapture originated.
I suggest you curb your ego and get into the word of God.
The pretrib rapture doctrine is rooted in scripture.
The pretrib rapture doctrine is easier to defend than the trinity doctrine.
There is way too much supposition on your part.
You are posting theories and getting your information from men.

BTW, your eschatological position has an influence on the way you see the rest of the bible.
If you are a postribber, you see the church hiding and running from cave to cave to escape death.
Postribbers are " tribulation centered"
Postribbers are obsessed with pretibbers position.
You demonstrated it well.

My position is "bride /groom" centered.
AHEM...AS IS THE WORD OF GOD AND HEAVEN.

The bible ends with the SPIRIT and the BRIDE calling out to the groom.
The parting words of the bible are of the bride and groom.

If you are a postribber, That ENTIRE CONCEPT is foreign to you.

Postribbers main deal, is obsession with the position of pretribbers, and tribulation mindset.

The reason you go to man's theory and teaching is because, in scripture, you can not defend your theory.

No, I am referencing scripture. My (or your) "eschatological position" counts for nada.

Why are you guys so nasty?

That alone should tell you you are so far off.
That, and reframing your opponents position, while not having a clue as to what we beleive.
Get honest
Get a bible.
Calm down and debate.

God's "wrath" is reserved for the "children of disobedience" (Eph. 5:6; Col. 3:6). Do not be found among them.

The hackneyed buzzwords "rapture" and "left behind" have caused massive hemorrhaging in the body of Christ. Most folks do not understand that the "one taken, one left" episode is NOT the tribulation. It is what is known as the reckoning (another topic for another time).

The entire "Left Behind" enterpri$e is based upon a perversion of Scripture: "Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left." (Mat. 24:40-41). Isn't that the rapture? No, that's a classic twist created by the Rapture Cult.

Jesus says his return will be just like in the days of Noah. He says all of Noah's neighbors were unsaved people who were eating and drinking and they didn't know the flood was coming until it came and "took them all away." So when the flood came, who got "taken away"? The evil ones, who didn't know the judgement was coming: "And knew not until the flood came and took them all away; So shall also the coming of the son of man be." (Mat. 24:39).

Jesus says the one will be taken and the other left. So who got taken? The one who was destroyed, just as it was in the days of Noah. In fact, when the disciples asked where they were taken, Jesus said look for the vultures, for that's where the dead bodies will be: "And they answered and said unto Him, Where Lord? And He said unto them, Wheresoever the body is there will the eagles be gathered together." (Luke 17:37). IOW, you want to be left behind!
Huh?
A wicked person rapture pretrib? Preflood?

One taken/one left.
You are trying to make the world half righteous, half wicked?

Never has, and never will.

Half of a subgroup is taken, not half the planets population.
The setting is BEFORE THE FLOOD.
The setting is VIVIDLY described as pretrib.

For years postribbers have been duped via omission.
Ahem, there is zero of the flood story and Noah that has "one taken, one left".
Reread it without any postribber goggles.
It will never go away.
Changing Jesus words will get you accolades of men, and foggy bible doctrine.
So many things you have to modify, as you are demonstrating, in changing mat 24.

They need to sticky a rapture thread in Bible Study. How many times do people want to discuss and talk in circles?

I get a kick outta members here that say " I yousta be a pretrib, until I read my bible"

Then , when asked for a verse, (not 2 or 3 ...just one verse) they can not provide any.

Last days deception.

The Noah analogy by Jesus is solid pretrib rapture depiction.

End of your fable.

Can I ask what you are all doing?why are you all arguing and squabbling with each other? what purpose is in it? what have ou accomplished in all this bickering with each other? ask yourselves this- who am I serving in this? are you serving God or serving yourselves? what is it that drives you to debate like this? what spirit is leading you?

You being obtuse, or just showing me you are out of gas?

Your post is a blue ribbon dodge.

Gather yourself up, get your workbook out, and I will bring the bible and make you go against it.

If you play games, just move along and tag someone else.

Don't accuse me of no discernment, when your doctrine is actually based on what ancient men, of limited Revelation, 2000 years ago, are taken as infallible.

Your entire basis for your fable.

Get you a bible, jettison the nonsense and let's go.

Jimmie Evans should be avoided like the plague. He's now retired and wants nearly a million dollars from his Church.

I don't know who Jimmie Evans is. My point is there is a new rapture thread every week in Bible study. If it means anything, pretribulation rapture doctrine, should be avoided like the plague.
I've known about him for a long time. I'm not saying everything he teaches is wrong. He's just into this for the cash cow.

Jesus taught the pretrib rapture.
Conversely, postrib rapture doctrine is found NOWHERE in the bible.
Just the facts.

So no, we do not avoid Jesus words like the plague.

The bible ends with the bride calling out for the groom.
The parting words, the words Jesus, the author of the bible, is for us to be calling out to him...AHEM, TO COME FOR US, His BRIDE.
Postribs need not do any of it, as they will tell you that we will be disappointed when we find out Jesus lied.

Ask yourself if any postribbers end their teaching with "watch and be ready. I now call out to Jesus the bride groom, come Lord Jesus"
Nope they never do that.
In fact, they mock anyone doing that.

Get someplace quiet and ask yourself these questions and be honest with yourself?

1. What is your primary Emotion about Christ's return, Anticipation or d
Dread?

2. Am I being progressively transformed or spiritually stagnant?

3. Would I be shocked to be taken up? Shocked to be left behind?
Like everyone else I fully expect Jesus to return and no doubt about that whatsoever.

Hebrews 4:16
Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and
find grace to help in time of need.

No false humility or backward steps.

We don't trust ourselves we trust the Lord Jesus Christ.

Where did Jesus teach pre-trib? He said the gathering occurs after the tribulation. Paul said it occurs at Jesus' coming - the parousia and at the LAST trump. What does Strong's say about the last trump?

"the trumpet which will sound AT THE LAST DAY, 1 Corinthians 15:52"

The Disciples asked, "What is the sign of thy parousia and the consummation of the age."

Coming - PAROUSIA presence
the coming, arrival, advent
the future visible return from heaven of Jesus, to raise the dead, hold the last judgment, and set up formally and gloriously the kingdom of God

Are you going to put me on ignore also?

When you say Jesus taught a gathering after the trib, are you referring to mat 24?

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

That postrib gathering can not be the rapture on several points.
1) it is in power and great glory
The rapture is not in power and great glory.
2) he SENDS angels to gather.
In the rapture Jesus gathers.
3) the ANGELS gather from heaven, not earth.
In the rapture, the gathering by Jesus is from earth.

If you keep reading, Jesus THEN gives the rapture depiction ( one taken/ one left behind), using Noah's gathering.
Ahem....preflood...pretrib.

All postribs reframe mat 24.
It is AUTOMATICALLY modified by them.
Almost the entire chapter gets modified by postribbers.

Yes. Jesus was very direct and succinct about this. The only people who believe this are His own people who are getting ready to endure the GT.

John 6:39 "And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day."

The rest as you can see from the pre-trib posts won't prepare and will end up not being strong enough to withstand the antichrist's threats and intimidations. They will give in and take the mark.
