I don't really get why there are some single people who wanna stop being single so bad! hahaha! God has His plans for us and maybe we just need to be focusing on His will and not ours. because I think that the one that God has for is will be worth the wait! :P! What are your thoughts? lol!
 
I just think some people are in dire need of a relationship because the people around them don't seem to give the love what they are looking for. Maybe some people need someone to calm them down and guide them through their work in the Lord. I, for myself, am looking for a guy who will guide me. But I am not rushing. I need to love myself and my family first.
 
Many Christians come from familys that teach them that marriage is important, and that part of growing up is going to school, getting married, etc.. There may also be local culture of it as well. ''All my friends are married'', and they feel left out.
Some people don't understand marriage and look to it to make them feel complete, and expect this person they marry to meet their needs, which, of course, doesn't work.
Also, i think satan uses it as a great tool to distract Christians from focusing on other things. They're so busy praying for a spouse, looking through their church, surfing the dating and chat sites that they never do anything with their lives.
 
Have you considered that perhaps that desire for being in a relationship is God-given, a way for God to tell them to start lookin'? Maybe God's will is for them to be with and marry someone presently around them? I'm not saying that's actually why they wanna be in a relationship, just wanna pick your brain a bit. :) I know I'm feelin' the desire, but that's because I'm a somewhat lonely 21 year old male with hormones in overdrive.
 
I agree that the will to get married is a God-given desire for the most part. However, I come from a family that by no means teaches that marriage is really important, but that the marriage of my parents is so ideal that I want what they have. Maybe that's just envy. It's awfully hard to compete with my parents....

I just want marriage to have someone to talk to when I have a bad day, etc, but I guess I can talk to God about my days as well. But, not only that, it would be nice to have someone worship God alongside me. It's so easy to feel alone, even when you have God.
 
I honestly don't have time for a relationship right now :) Too much going on in my life!!!

That has been taken into consideration, we all have that desire to be with someone, but to do the will of God is something that always trumps everything else and sets everything else aside, for me anyway, whatever it is, I have faith that He will lead me to the one, at the perfect time, His time, and that relieves all the anxiety of needing to find someone. believe me I know what its like to be 21, but I just give it all to Him! :P!

That's what friends are for! :)! I know what you mean about the alone part, God created Eve for Adam because He saw the loneliness of Adam and it wasn't good! Put your trust in God, He can put someone in your life at the perfect time! Until then all I continue to do is praise Him, and do His will! Just try it! :)!
 
This question makes it seem like you want us to take backseats in our own lives. I do not want to become passive or not try anything new because it may not be Gods -will. If it is not His will the He will show us we are wandering off the path. I will continue to make my own decisions and if I want a relationship then that is what I will strive for.

I do see your point, but nothing gets accomplished by waiting around waiting for God to act, I believe he expects us to do the acting.

While you wait you also have faith, you pray about what you should do, and fast. God has come through with greater things for me in my past so I trust Him with this also! :)!
 
No I just want you to look at God and realize that He is everything you'll ever need, and to exalt God above every situation in your life!.
 
The whole "Search for Spouse" debate is tired. Some are called to search earnestly, others are not. It starts becoming healthy or unhealthy when we cut completely one way or another.

Getting married and having kids is also important if you want to keep your legacy, bloodline and sometimes your own family's name and heritage alive (if none of your siblings have kids). Otherwise your family tree ends with you, or at least your branch will end with you.

There are over 6 billion people on the planet and growing. Not all of them are fed, clothed, given medical treatment. And those that do have those things are living decades longer than they did in the past. We currently have more people than we can take care of, i don't really think there' s a big need to try to 'preserve' the human race. If anything we're now out of control with our population.

So i'm not saying completely cut, just to keep your options open,.. and so one is worried about getting a spouse or not... And is anxious, I just think that person should just turn to God and listen to what He has to say about it, should He not want you to get one yet, He will let you know! And God has told me ''no,'' many times before, who am I to disagree with God and argue with Him?

There is also the option of adopting a kid. And yes not everyone wants children, and not everyone is meant to have children. Not everyone wants to get married either,.. and if they did get married, it should be for love not because, you are now able to have children, should one really want to get married for the sole purpose of preservation of heritage or legacy, or bloodline. And if that be the case that you are the last, don't be afraid to turn to God for the answers!

I'll admit that from time to time this my sentimental side brings this thought up since my family has a rich heritage going back almost 400 years on this continent. I am the last in my immediate family line since although my father had two brothers, neither of them ever married or had children and although my sister has two kids, obviously they don't carry my family name. However, I'm not about to run out and randomly get married just for the purpose of maintaining the family name.
