Very shocked it happened in my town. Shocked and disgusted.
The guy should be behind bars and castrated (!) so he can't do that to any more women. I think he had done it to a few. He lied about killing her. He tried to cover it up.

Nothing to do with church, but could happen to any woman whether they go to church or not.

Unfortunately there are sexual predators lurking in churches and schools.
And I hate hate that in the public library we had books like Fifty Shades of Grey, and there were no restrictions on it. Lolita was also a title that was controversial, but that was about a paedophile, still gross. It was meant to be a cautionary tale, but because of the movie, men went with it and were calling young girls Lolitas and perving at them.

No. Just no.
 
Every year we have a white ribbon march against domestic violence and behind closed doors display in libraries to highlight this issue. We not only have women's refuges, but also Pet refuges, because pets also get traumatised by domestic violence.

It doesn't have to be some rando going on a tinder date. It could be your own spouse.

But just want to ask why would anyone confuse Madonna with Mary who was the mother of Jesus?

Madonna is a completely different name to Mary. I do not confuse Mary with Madonna. If it's Italian for Mary then I can squint and see the connection, otherwise, no.

I'm just listening to Madonna at the moment and while she is sex-positive, she's never advocated for violence that I remember. (Just listening to the song 'Jump') Madonna has always been in control of who she is and how she presents herself.
I wondered if anyone on the forum was thinking of Madonna and what influence she had on these matters, as at the time, she was touted as the 'sex symbol' , like Britney Spears and Marilyn Monroe were in their time.
