banned threads

Close the threads that banned members started. Perhaps delete and save space...just dont see the need if the op is banned to keep thread open. Plenty of other threads with same topic.

Close every thread started by "banned".
I knew him well.....(until he was persona non grata)
 
Agree, at least if the thread was the reason of the banning.
 
Seems reasonable...and I have seen a few threads from a banned thread starter removed.
 
On rare occasions we will remove a thread started by a banned chatter, usually the one that got them banned. However to remove every thread started by every banned person could end up taking quite a bit of time to research which ones should be removed and which one's should stay up.
 
Well if it is too much trouble to delete, then maybe just close all the ones they started. That way if people still want to discuss they. will open their own thread. Others can always reference back to closed thread if they want.
 
This site does not have enough manpower to peruse through the thousands (or more?) threads and selectively delete them. Admins have also stated closing a thread hurts their Google page rank.

But don't ask OnceFallen why that is. :p
 
Deleting a post could create a broken link, creating the famous 404 error. And google trying to protect their own backs doesn't want sites with many broken links on the front page. So they drop the page's ranking...

If a person was to relink the url to a related post this would fix this prob. But that is a lot of work...

So if CC has the highest rating for "is it Christian like to (fill in blank)" and CC deletes all these post's. Then CC will drop in ranking in that criteria. Because if they didn't Google users would get 404'd and to many 404's and now everyone uses Bing...

Thought post can never be deleted. TYTI! I had a few nonsense post that Id like to delete. One is were I posted out of anger that MOST GUYS ARE.........Everything happens for a reason and it has served its purpose A very big lesson. And learned that few people can still understand. They gave me another chance to be their friend. :)
 
i don't think this is a good idea. Sorry, guys. Sometimes, really great expressions of God's love have been posted by other CCer's in response to wicked posts. It would be a shame to lose those.
 
I guess it shows us as the Word tells us we really need to think wisely with our words and how we say things as we WILL one day be held accountable to every word that come out of our mouths whether it be good or bad... Sometimes to say nothing is best... Venting is good, but only to an extent.. This all comes with our growth in maturity in the Lord...

We all make mistakes with our words and our actions, and as we speak to others who are the beneficiaries of what we say they will reap sometimes either harm or benefit from it.. We too will reap as well for what we do to unto others, we are praying that same back to us. For when we are praying telling God that when we want others to treat us the same as we treat other people, then we also are telling God to do the same to us also...

In other words, we teach people how to treat us by our words. Not always for there are those who don't follow these rules. But respect is a big deal in Gods eyes, and being accountable for our words is showing respect for our own words.

The bible also teaches to not speak in idol words for our words are important!... :)

I agree with you Kenisyes, Its about everyone, not one person who spoke wrongly, but all...

i don't think this is a good idea. Sorry, guys. Sometimes, really great expressions of God's love have been posted by other CCer's in response to wicked posts. It would be a shame to lose those.

The suggestion was to close open threads, not to delete them. You're right in that deleting posts would hurt page rankings though.

Btw, reddit was subjected to a DDoS attack today. :(

This is a copy/paste of the OP. I added the bolding.

That's why post #5 responded to the word "delete", and then we responded to that. I for one like the idea of closing such threads. But whatever is easier for the admins.

To the three who gave my posts likes, I really got a big smile from seeing your avatars. They showed all in a row on my likes page.
