I guess, some people have never experienced this, having their hearts broken...like you get to thinking you are special and then just realise well they are like this to every girl. Or things get started, and or promised and you find out (maybe even a third party) that you are dumped and he is seeing someone else! This has happened to so many women it's not funny.

Will you still love me tomorrow? Why even ask this question if you are not sure. Why is there such a thing as one night stands. Or one night marriages ?? You just married me to get me into bed right oh but we are married now it's not just about that...oh no we now have obligations to each other. Is that something I am not getting..I don't know. My head hurts and I am going to bed...alone.

And then you run home, and your mother asks what's wrong and all you can say is that saaad movies always make me cry.

Oh great, someone else who thinks I am a b*** or likens me to a dog.

You've had it in for me for quite some time Lynx. I am so tired of it. Why can't you be nice instead of sarcastic and laughing AT me all the time. I must be a joke to you.

I come here for encouragement and maybe a bit of light heartedness in this dark world and all I find is derision. Make fun of Lanolin for sure.

Maybe quote some scripture instead of being so clever. I am not erudite like you. I am actually quite simple. Stupid even. I don't know anything about life, like you say...oh people don't have this attitude that women are dumb oh really? Then why am I treated like I don't know any better? Its because if you are treated like you are stupid all your life and ask stupid questions, you start to believe that's all you'll ever be, despite all the education in the world, it won't make you any smarter, because you are female.

That is what it's like.
I did not compare you to a dog or call you that word. I used an analogy.

You just accused me of things I did not do, and they were quite serious accusations.

I do not get your analogies, sorry.
If it was an analogy, why do I interpret it this way then. It seems obvious to me.

Can you just respond to my posts without mocking? It feels like you are mocking me. You post these things after I have written something, so I assume they are about me. ?!

In the Bible, the worst thing someone could call a woman (or anyone) was a dog. Dogs are banished from heaven in revelation. I don't think it meant literal dogs, but they are up there with homosexuals, fornicators and murderers. And busybodies I suppose.

Honestly ? I do think that a lot of , but by no means all , men feel threatened by women , especially clever or strong or beautiful women and so they feel the need to belittle us . It really is their problem not ours . I know u will have a million stories u could tell about this kind of behaviour from men , every single woman on earth does , which in itself is very sad . Try not to let it upset u ❤️ remember that God sees everthing and hears every word . There is not one second of your or mine or any other woman's suffering at the hands of a man , that He is not fully aware of . We will all have to give account of ourselves . Just b u and don't let anyone steal your joy of life and of your Saviour ❤️ , He knows .

Actually this whole conversation is sounding eerily familiar. I swear we have had this conversation before.

You have started complaining about some random thing that isn't even a thing anymore.
I have said if you look for something to complain about you will find it, and I used the dog with a stick analogy.
You took it as I was calling you a dog.

I think this one is my fault. I forgot we have already done this before.

My initial assertion holds though. If you look hard enough for something to complain about, you will definitely find it.

I don't mean to be a raging feminist, I just live in a time where women have basically been emancipated. It wasn't too long ago that women were bound and chained. So I don't take this for granted. It's just interesting how times have changed. I remember when Girls just wanna have fun to the present day when we still don't have 'pay parity' and equality is like a pipe dream. When we find it, it seems like the goal always shifts.

It was Christian women who led the Temperance movement. But men still found a way to drink and control and beat up their wives. So who are the smart women here?

Hi @Lanolin,

I was just curious -- does your country have a draft or required military service?

Here in the USA, young men between the ages of 18-25 are required to apply for the draft. This is a big topic right now, as the US is currently engaged in a war and people have been talking about what if they need to start using the draft, such as in Vietnam. Many of us know at least one person who was drafted during that time.

Do you believe that "equality" should also mean that women should need to be signed up for a draft and/or be required to serve in the military as well?

Would you be willing to serve in the military as part of your female equality?

Not sure about the pay parity, because some companies are quite underhand about how they go about their pay. Women don't get promoted, and are paid less in jobs men won't take..or something. Women don't get paid at all for housework and childcare if they are married, and it is work! If they didn't do it they'd have to employ someone..who would get paid!

Maybe it's a class thing too.

hmm With adultery I always wondered in the case of David and Bathsheba, whether Bathsheba could be blamed, for not rejecting David's advances (he was King? you can't say no to a King) or keeping it secret from her husband, or not using birth control centuries ago. She got pregnant! Their baby died. That was God's punishment I guess.

Feminising men. I remember in the 90s there was all this talk about the 'sensitive new age guy' and women starting to do things like wear the pants - and it be NORMAL to do so.

I worked in schools and the boys were noticeably behind the girls in maturity. Girls develop faster, it's true. I guess that's some of the reason why young women are often with older men. I think primary (elementary) education tends to have higher percentage of female teachers. I could count on one hand the number of male teachers in my primary school - everyone else was female.

Shooting incidents - not sure about this. Shootings happen in odd places like mosques full of men (christchurch) or schools (usa) where there are no wives and husbands protecting them. When JFK was shot, he had secret service and body guards. Jacqui Kennedy was absolutely traumatised. Though it's true that bodyguards tend to be male, but you have female ambos and police, so its not as if women can't do the job as well.

I did gardening with a majority male company and was harassed. I worked for female majority libraries but still got harassed by the men. It is so common in workplaces that you just kind of accept it comes with the job. Cos if you report it, you will probably lose your job for tattling. Especially if so and so is like your supervisor. You just learn to either push back or grey rock them but it's a hassle when you just want to concentrate on doing the job!
I understand your point of view. I spent 81/2 years in an almost totally male environment, the Navy. The way most of the men, especially younger, was appalling. Women were seen as conquests or trophies. If the woman capitulated, she was a slut. if the man won, he was a stud. Of course, a great deal of the talk was empty boasting. But people learn from each other.

Many men think that what women see as harassment is a compliment. Again it is male arrogance. You are quite right that men mature later than women. Jewish culture assumed that men were mature at the age of 30, which was when Jesus began his ministry.

There are two issues, nature and upbringing. Very often if you get a man on his own, all the bravado evaporates. Men are way more insecure than they appear. That's why they seek out male dominated groups. it is also why they resent what they see as the intrusion of women into their male space. The world system seeks to overturn it by forcing men to open the doors to women. That is not helping.

Hypocrisy does not help. For some time I regularly swam at the city pool. Not often, but now and again a random woman would come in to the change room. You could well imagine the outcry if a male went into the women's change room.

Could Bathsheba have made sure that she was hidden from David's view? She was obviously near enough to catch David's eye. We hear very little of Bathsheba's point of view. I imagine that the loss of the child would have been devastating for her even more than David.

I think they do that in Israel. Both young women and men.

No they do not have it in NZ.
We have something else, like working for a living. lol. Supplying other countries food.

I wonder if Bathsheba even knew she was being observed. Like for example, Princess Catherine was sunbathing in a private resort, topless (as some women do) and the paparazzi managed to take photos of her, because they were spying on her with long lenses! It didn't strike me that she was being an exhibitionist or deliberately showing off her body to men. Probably same case with Bathsheba.

It would be weird to have a bath fully clothed. And those movies that show bubble baths covering everything? Thats not always gonna be possible in a REAL bath cos that much foam would block the drain.

No long lenses in those days. That's all I can say about it.

Any and all of us ladies would have to abide by the laws of whichever country we live in so , if it was the law of the land I would do it .
When do u think that they will make it so that most men can b physically weaker than most women and yet still carry and give birth to babies ? That would b fun to watch , no , I change my mind, it would not . Then still have to go out and do a days work , come home , cook dinner etc etc etc the list goes on .
I have a theory , women get more tired than men at the end of the day because they physically do more than men do .

Hmm... Good point! I know some women enlist in the army. But I have never, EVER heard anybody arguing that women should be drafted.

Anybody else want to weigh in on this one? Guys or girls? Anybody think women should be drafted? Why or why not?

In Israel women do their version of national service as well as the men . In times of war , some one needs to stay home and do all those jobs that the men used to do but can't because they've gone off to fight , if everyone was drafted who would keep the countries infrastructure ticking over ? There's no doubt that men and women r different , on a gender level and then of course on an individual level , that doesn't mean that men or women r inferior or superior , just different . Respect for all is what is best I think ❤️ .

Coming back to this.
I know a bit of history, the women at home during war were doing a lot of things ...gardening (digging for victory) being nurses to the wounded, looking after the orphans, knitting bundles, raising war bonds. Some acted as spies, or they were part of the resistance and sent secret messages and cracked codes.
They definitely were not idle.

The Vietnam war. The war that escalated thanks to US involvement...when they couldn't draft enough US soldiers guess what the US govt did? They drafted in men who had low IQ and who didn't pass the physical/intellectual requirement just to have more troops.

Look up Project 10,000 or McNamara's Morons.

These men had a bigger casualty rate because often they couldn't understand things or didn't know how to read, and they weren't properly prepared for combat.
