That's the thing, you can interpret those particular scriptures as what I interpreted them to mean or what you interpret them to mean. That's what bugs me. I am not biased when I read the Bible. It means what it says. So what is it saying here? What about unrepented sin? What about all the times that HE says how bad it is to keep it in your life. I was going to bring up Hebrews 10:26-31, but I feel that it could also be talking about those who are not saved, but have looked upon the Truth and yet and still set it aside. Those would be the unsaved believers, by the way. They believe, but they are not saved.

Yes, Matthew 7. They are believers but Jesus says He never knew them because they worked iniquity (sin). They claimed to have done many wonderful works in his name (i.e. miracles). Those who believe they can sin and still be saved hold to the view that this is proof that these were believers that were never saved to begin with. I believe that might be the case if they held to a "sin and still be saved" doctrine since the beginning of their faith. But what of those who fall away? Does that disprove Matthew 7? No. Ezekiel 18 says if one does unrighteousness, then all their righteousness that they have done will be forgotten. See. The Lord identifies with someone being righteous. So if there righteousness is forgotten, then he does not remember them anymore as a righteous person. They are unknown and alien to Him now. He will say... I never knew you (Because he has erased their righteousness). The same works if somebody repents and accepts Jesus Christ. God erases and forgets about their past sins. He will no longer remember your past evil. But if we sin again, we have to confess our sin in order to be forgiven of it (1 John 1:9).

Okay, so who is getting blotted out of the Book of Life in those scriptures I mentioned? I mean, I agree with you, but I am also looking at the Bible as a whole. I wonder...

Rev 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder,

whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Thats how one places puts it

Wow! I didn't think about that and I must have read that scripture quite a few times. It doesn't explain everything, but it gives me some direction.

To be honest, I'm kind of leaning more towards that idea myself.

Amen and to be quite frank.....this has all been done in God's eyes before the casting down of the world......I believe God is fair and just...wrote the book of the living (all who would come into existence) and then blots out those who reject His SON......Based upon a few facts such as...

1. Hell was not made for man
2. God would have all to be saved
3. God has dealt to every man a measure of faith (the ability to believe)
4. All of creation testifies including both day and night
5. Christ has paid the price
6. God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked

Etc.........

Those who condone a "sin and still be saved" type belief or doctrine. Most of them believe in a teaching called "Once Saved Always Saved" or Eternal Security. Meaning, these are the type of believers who hold to the idea that abiding in one or two unrepentant sins and then dying in that sin (like say "lying" or "lusting") will not send one to Hell. All one needs is to have is a mental acknowledgement type faith. Yes, some will say that you have to generally live a holy life, but they will also say that you will also forever be a slave to your sin. That you cannot actually forsake your wicked ways completely. They believe all future sin is forgiven a person, too. So this then takes away any incentive of them doing in what is good and right completely, too.

Our problem is looking at it from a linear time perspective.....we view history as it unfolds and from the boundaries of time...God being the lofty one who is eternal and not bound by time sees the whole timeline if you will as completed already....hence the ability to take the book of the living and then blot out those who would reject before the casting down of the world.....even the very hairs of our head are recorded along with every sparrow, the lightning out of his treasuries etc.....He is the God of order and has it all written before he cast own the world....regardless.....those who will reject his son are blotted out of the book of the living before he even cast down the world...God's ways are so much higher than our ways for sure and we sometimes lack the insight to fully comprehend these truths to their fullest

If there were no possibility at all of having your name blotted out of the book of Life, then the Lord would not have even of mentioned it. That proves some will have their names blotted out because they did not repent from where they had fallen back from the faith.

Revelation 3:1-6 "And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."

I agree with that because HIS elect overcome sin and if you are not overcoming sin then how can you be one of the elect?

One of these days you will answer for the above bolded lies..as MOST do not teach and or espouse the lie that you spread so as to support your salvation lite dogma!

For if Once Saved Always Saved was true, and we never had to worry about our salvation, then we can just go back and live however we please. Why even have a Word of God? Why even live for God or Jesus? You are saved. You got your ticket. Live your best life now! But that is not what the Word of God teaches. There are many warnings in Scripture that we have to follow Jesus and His Commands and to keep ourselves pure.

No, not really, dear sir. Anyone who does not follow the words of Jesus, those very words will then judge them on the last day (See John 12:48). Many Eternal Security proponents I have talked to have rejected some or many words of Jesus Christ. But even Paul says... if any man speaks contrary to the words of Jesus Christ and the doctrine of Godliness is proud and they know nothing (1 Timothy 6:3-4).

if you start with a lie, and believe it , i.e. "we can't lose our salvation",

then you will continue to be vexed. (and maybe lost). no amount of Bible or whatever

can help then.

if you simply believe GOD'S WORD IS TRUE , and rely and trust on HIM, in Christ Jesus,

then HIS PROMISE is righteousness, peace and joy, along with eternal life.

like JOB, you WILL BE VEXED, sorely so, but not because of believing a lie.

Goodness gracious! We are meant to study the Word. I never really studied this subject until now so of course I've been confused. I don't want to believe a lie which is why I am seeking the Truth.

Except for the fact that this is a flawed, vain philosophy...Shall we continue in sin since GRACE ABOUNDS...God forbid.....this is where your lite gospel falls apart...the bible teaches that saved children of God should NOT WANT to live like they used to because they are SAVED, SEALED, JUSTIFIED and Sanctified (positionally).....you cannot see this, because of being blinded to the truth because of your lack of understanding........

MANY is NOT MOST....see you cannot even get your facts straight....nor do you understand many English words and how to apply them in sentences......get your facts straight and quit misrepresenting the truth about what people believe!

You will take note that I have talked from experience with people who have admitted to me that they can sin and still be saved. So no. They are not lies. Also, I do know of some OSAS proponents who hold to the view that one must live holy or they were never born again to begin with. But they are not as common, though.

Most who hold to OSAS (Once Saved Always Saved) either believe they can sin a little or a sin alot and still be saved. Those who believe in OSAS whereby one must live a holy life (or they were never born again to begin with) are a small minority. They are not as common.

You can't just say that and it be true. You have to present scripture to back you up.

why not? rcc heretics get away with it every day, all the time !
and
they NEVER present Scripture to back themselves up.. never.. they aren't able to.

they HAVE to present what the pope says, not Scripture, in order to remain in the heresy church.

(as Yahweh says, since most visitors and several members are deceived and remaining deceived and unsaved by the rcc)

z k 2 thread > a group believes that some names cannot be blotted out of the BOOK of LIFE.

however, since Scripture shows that some names are blotted out,

that means , .... what ?

1) some names are blotted out.

2) some names are not blotted out.

3) people who think their name cannot be blotted out might already be blotted out ---

if their name is already blotted out, it cannot be blotted out again, right ?

4) people whose names are STILL IN THE BOOK OF LIFE, have not been blotted out, yet.

5) since some names are blotted out, people in (4), might still be blotted out, simply because

other names already have been blotted out, and who can know theirs will never be blotted out?

(the ones whose names are already BLOTTED OUT, once thought perhaps that they also could NEVER BE BLOTTED OUT, yet they are BLOTTED OUT. so THINKING SO DON'T MAKE IT SO.)

The Lamb's Book of Life:

Besides the Holy Scriptures, this is by far the most important book. It is a heavenly book of a list of names; And if your name is in this book, that means you have repented of your sins and accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and you are spiritually born again from above; Which shows that you are one of God's heavenly children or citizens (Which was written since the foundation of the world). Now, within this list of names, some of these children are eternal children and others are only temporary children (Meaning: Some do not endure in the faith and they reject Jesus and or they turn back to enjoy the pleasures of their old life of sin). This book is most famously called: "The Lamb's Book of Life" as mentioned in Revelation 21:27. This book is also called "the book of life of the Lamb" within Revelation 13:8 and is paralleled with a similar passage with the name "the book of life" in Revelation 17:8. The name "the book of life" for this book also appears in Revelation 3:5,Revelation 20:12, Revelation 20:15, and Philippians 4:3, too. It goes by the name of "thy book" in Exodus 32:32 and "my book" in Exodus 32:33. It may not be "the book of the living" named in Psalm 69:28 but it is definitely alluded to with the words "...written with the righteous" within the same passage, though. Being in this book would mean that your name is written in heaven (Luke 10:20) and or you are of the church of the firstborn who is written in heaven (Hebrews 12:23). Being in this book would mean he has chosen you in him before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4) and that you are the Elect according to the foreknowledge of God (1 Peter 1:2).

However, make no mistake, though; Only born again believers and babies who die will be written in "The Lamb's Book of Life." For it is strongly suggested from Revelation 13:8 and Revelation 17:8 that unbelievers are not written in the "Lamb's Book of Life" since the foundation of the world to begin with. This means that only born again believers can have their names blotted out of the book of life. Backsliding into sin for the true believer is what causes them to have their names blotted out of the Lamb's book. If they (i.e. the believing sinner) repents and renews their faith back in the Lord, then their name will reappear and be added again amongst the righteous. For a backslidden believer who falls into sin can be converted or renewed back to the faith to the saving of their soul (James 5:19, 20). Those backslidden children who choose never to come back to the Lord before they die are forever lost. They are the children of the Kingdom or the unprofitable servant that is cast into outer darkness.

Important Note: Psalm 9:5 is sometimes quoted by some that unbelievers can have their names erased or blotted out of the "book of life." However, these verse quotes are taken from Modern Translations (Such as the NKJV (New King James), the KJ21 (21st Century King James), the NIV, ESV, NASB, AMP, EXB, WEB) and not the traditionally recognized King James (KJV) which more accurately says "put out their name", instead (Psalm 9:5 KJV); Meaning: The unbeliever's names were intentionally left out or "put out" of the book to begin with.

That's what I'm talking about! That actually makes so much sense! I never even considered Rev. 13/17:8 until today. Like pieces of a puzzle!

Most who hold to OSAS (Once Saved Always Saved) either believe they can sin a little or a sin alot and still be saved. Those who believe in OSAS whereby one must live a holy life (or they were never born again to begin with) are a small minority. They are not as common.

Another proof that you don't listen......Was John saved...YES and he said clearly that if we say that we have no sin we are deceived and the truth is not in us.....your views are flawed.....everyone...including the ones who are genuinely saved still fail the Lord and sin...this is not to say that they wilfully live in sin....you really should wake up and trust Jesus in a biblical manner instead of relying on your own self righteousness.......serious!

Here are some verses worded in respects to sin in various ways for us to compare
