I'm normally not one to run around screaming 'satanic' at everything, as some others seem so prone to. But sometimes it's so obvious there's no other way to explain it. Combining stories I've picked up from others here and now finding a new one to add to the mix.
These articles are all from one source but can be found on other sites as well. All coming out of Bethel Church.

Christian Ouija Boards

Christian Tarot Cards

And the one I have yet to see mentioned on this site...
Telepathy

What I don't understand is if there are enhanced states of mind and awareness, why are Christians banned from it? If we are capable of being telepathic, didn't God make it that way?

As for Tarots, and Ouija boards (some kind of mediumship) the Bible is against seeking people who are attuned to that, but what about communing with spirits personally, where does this fit in? "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world." So it's ok to talk to spirits then, but in what form? Talking to spirits IS mediumship. Maybe what is wrong is talking to spirits FOR other people.

The whole Ouija board thing, I can't help but think it is somewhat psychological, which is why it affects young people more than older people. If you suspend your disbelief, or decide to believe in something because of many phenomena, then you can make yourself believe anything. If you believe it is demonic, then demons is what you will get. Interesting perspective of communing with angelic spirits. "Surely" if your intent is to speak to good spirits, good spirits is what you get? If it comes from light, and need for "upliftment" (that is the key word), light is what you get. If it comes from dark, a need for "something to happen", or a need for power, dark is what you get. Going to a medium for help, well that comes under one of those, feeling powerless.

I have my own form of mediumship, which I call mind writing. I was inspired by Neale Donald Walsch who wrote the Conversations with God series (the movie was brilliant). He said when you realise God is always talking to you, then you can talk to him. Christians often talk about talking to God all the time, isn't this the same thing. The only thing I am doing is writing down the conversations.

The question is whether one knows whether a spirit is good or bad. It's not too hard to figure that out, but if you are naïve, it's like taking sweets from a stranger and trusting them because of that, or asking someone if they are Christian and trusting them by that (so many naïve Christians do that!)

If someone is being naive, should we tell the person?

if we're 'called-chosen-elect', of course we will obey The Holy Spirit, when we are
spoken to/led/to...

Ouija boards and Tarot cards are portals to evil! Dabbled with Ouija boards, it is not psychological at all, but Satan.

I’m not one looking for demons under every rock, or vast satanic conspiracies around every corner, either, but some things are just evil. Why not just stay away from them?

You show many reasons why you are in so much grave error. Also "the spirits" above are not what you are making it out to be, it is not the meaning of the text; 1 John 4:1. Not that this will make any difference to you, this is just for everyone else.

If you believe it is demonic, then demons is what you will get. Interesting perspective of communing with angelic spirits. "Surely" if your intent is to speak to good spirits, good spirits is what you get? If it comes from light, and need for "upliftment" (that is the key word), light is what you get. Purely New Age teachings. "Seek spirits to uplift you." Can't say I've ever heard that preached by a true convert or a true man of God.

Interestingly his key word is "upliftment" and the objective is "light." That is his reasoning for seeking "spirits."

Well, that should make it so simple! Except for the fact evil spirits can make themselves appear as light and nowhere are we told to practice this in Scripture.

The sad fact is nothing you are saying, believing in, or suggesting comes across as light. It rather comes across as darkness because that is in fact what it is. That is what 1 John 4:1 intends by application, to expose the likes of mj007 and his teachings.

I have my own form of mediumship, which I call mind writing. I was inspired by Neale Donald Walsch who wrote the Conversations with God series (the movie was brilliant). I'm sure you do have your own form of mediumship and practice the above, it explains a lot.

You say going to a medium is bad in so many words, then turn around and claim you're your own special medium. That is to be thoroughly deceived.

This is not Christianity at all, it is not of God, in fact it is the opposite of this.

The question is whether one knows whether a spirit is good or bad. It's not too hard to figure that out, but if you are naïve, it's like taking sweets from a stranger and trusting them because of that, or asking someone if they are Christian and trusting them by that (so many naïve Christians do that!)

The one being naïve is apparent and it is you mj007 and any Christian with a bit of discernment has figured out that the spirit from whence your teaching is coming from is frankly bad. Yes, bad. In fact, it is wicked and dark teaching.

The above is nothing but channeling and New Age thought - it is not Christianity. You have no clue if any of the spirits you allegedly talk to are good or bad. They couldn't care less either.

The above is what happens when a person takes 1 John 4:1 out of context, and shows one is entirely on the wrong road altogether and then calls it Christianity or biblical, or justifies it as good.

Many things can be right and many things can, and are, wrong. Be that as it may. But, when directed to a website, the first place I look is at the heading of the site.

Sure enough, the expected name was right there... Pulpit and Pen. Enough said. I closed it out. You might as well ask me to trust in The Westboro Baptist Church site.

Who do you trust? If Moses' Pharaoh was debating Pontius Pilate, which side would you fall on? Because, really? Most people have enough common sense to realize neither is good.

You don't buy Pulpit and Pen? Yeah, okay. Don't know it, so no idea if I do trust them. But then to say therefore it isn't worth any effort to find out what's happening on your part? Why not join Westboro then, since you're determined to bury your head in the sand anyway?

A whole lot of time and effort you just invested to prove you refuse to learn anything. (After all. You could have just googled it yourself. Not like Pulpit and Pen are the only ones who know this "secret." Not even a secret.)

I feel like Schultz just came in to pontificate again.

I said nothing of all the extra stuff you are always trying to add to someone's post. I mean quite simply that if you value the truth, you go to the supposed source, and see if what they are accused of doing or saying is something they, themselves, have claimed or done.

I may have heard of you doing certain things here (and I have)........ so should I accept that as truth because my "investigation" consisted of seeing posts here where other people have the same opinion of you? Or, perhaps, should I maybe try to find one of your actual posts, to read it for myself?

Well. I have looked at official Bethel sites, and I have seen nothing there about Ouija Boards.

Where does it say that these boards are from Bethel Church?

Sadly, for some people, things like this never need to be verified as true. They just seem to like to run with the accusations.

I think he may have just been confused because someone called it a "Bethel Board" in the article, which is the title of the board and in no way is it referring to Bethel Church. Not defending Bethel Church as I don't really know who they are haha. I just know they are big.

I'm a fan of Bethel and love Jesus Culture. I doubt any of them have anything to do with this, if it is true. However I believe it's a hoax, some scetchy websites is talking about this so I don't believe it. It's sad peaople jump on things so quickly.

The article about telepathy says Bethel church in Redding, California. LINK They don't say all Bethel churches practice this. It may only be a single church congregation.

The Hate Site, Pulpit & Pen, again. I didn't even bother to read the title of the article.

the only things that Christians should 'hate', is satan and his minions,,.
they're real busy right now, it's very plain to see the 'foot hold' that they have
and are exercising upon the people of our planet - may Jesus strengthen you all
who Love and Adore our Holy Saviour in all that will shortly come to pass...
