One thing I keep in mind is Bible prophecy is not about the political kingdoms of this world. When he comes will he find faith or will it be as in the time of Noah?

I have noticed that Americans quite often tie up Bible prophecy with the USA and I wonder why it is assumed that God will work with and through the USA. I understand that the US has strong Christian beginnings but these days isn't it more around 50% Christian population? Isn't S Korea more densely populated with Christians? Why would prophecy necessarily be aligned with the US?

Does anyone have any insights on this?

Simple. the USA is not mentioned in end times prophesy anywhere. Even though people try to make it there.

There are differences among Bible scholars as to who this concerns, Merchants of Tarshish is either Spain and her young lions of the South American countries or British Isles and her young lions including America.

In the Psalm 83 war prophecy it is evident that the US is no longer a Superpower or has something going on that distracts her from helping Israel. Israel only receives the help of God during this great Middle East War prophecy.

So to simply answer your question, the USA plays NO PART of biblical prophecy to come.

From the Nuclear destruction of Damascus, The Great Middle East War, the Elam Dispersion, Gog/Magog War to Armageddon, the United States is not mentioned at all.

How weird is this

Weird thing is, this asteroid is going to pass in between the earth and the moon, we will be able to see it, exactly 7 years early (Tribulation goes for 7 years) before it comes back around and hits the earth

eternally-gratefull....I do believe that the USA is mentioned in :

Ezekiel 38:13(KJV)

13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?

The 'Merchants of Tarshish' has been identified by many scholars as Britania and 'the Young lions' as (most likely) the USA, Canada and Australia. Now, this is funny because all they do is Protest during the Gog/magog war and only ask what the intentions of the Russia, Turkey, Iran and some African countries have toward Israel.

This is the only place "the young lions is mentioned in the Bible" however, Tarshish is listed several times and is well know among Middle east coastal countries.

The big problem here is that the USA is at this time a superpower and a friend of Israel. This seems to change from now to the Gog/magog war prophesied in Ezekiel 38-39.

God will never judge such a righteous, morally upright, God fearing, God serving nation like the USA!

It amazes me, how many will flap their lips, deny and reject the 80 characteristics applied unto the Daughter (prodigy) of Babylon and the verses that prove an end time nation......woven into Classical Babylon.....they will find out soon enough...gonna be a tragic day when the earth undulates and quakes as all of our young men of war are killed in one hour in a strike from the north, from THENCE....a strike that comes under the SHADOW of a CLOUD with the TEMPEST of a storm that burns our cities with fire and makes them uninhabitable....followed by an active invasion with weapons that causes ALL WHO ARE FOUND to be thrust thru and EXPLODE into FRAGMENTS and PIECES........most who reject this have never studied it....and or won't study it...!
