So it's really a matter of personal opinion. Anybody looking for irrefutable scientific proof of God, at this present moment in history, will not find it.

Not true. It is this simple, the existence of life cannot be explained by natural methods. That only leaves the supernatural.

Again, just because something can't currently be scientifically proven, doesn't mean that it isn't so. Doesn't mean that it is either. But you see the problem.

Wrong, this is special pleading.

This is the "You are wrong, therefore I am right" argument which ignores all other possible explanations.

1) Life still may have come to exist naturally, we just dont know how yet.

2) Life may have come supernaturally, but that in itself is very vague. You imply that "supernatural" means that an infinite personal being spoke something into existence. Could supernatural mean something else? Of course it could, the problem with supernatural explanations is that it is all speculation. Any number of possible supernatural explanations could all be just as likely to have happened.

I am curious about something...is it at all possible that there is someone that cares less about the age of the earth than me?

hahhah at least as much as you...or maybe we both 10 to the fiftieth power could care less about the age of the earth....it is older than all of us and that is for sure!

Methinks your'e going to be doing some "special pleading", though fruitless, on judgement day, unless you accept the only cure for your terminal sin disease, Jesus Christ.

1. You sin, too.

2. This is an appeal to fear, and a condemnation without merits.

3. You can't assume to know what deeds this person does or what lies in their motives, but I can hazard a guess that should they do a good deed, it will be for a more selfless reason that to avoid hell.

4. Threatening someone to join your club, and inferring that they don't know Jesus because they are outside your club, is to assume that you and your club are the only ones who know Jesus. In reality, you have a title, 'Christian', and while in popular opinion that title is synonymous with good-will and compassion, in practice, it is only a title.

5. Walking Jesus' walk doesn't require a title.

I have already accepted Jesus Christ and repented.....the only difference is now I no longer think it is real.

But fact remains I have already done what is required in the Bible to be saved.

Of course I sin too, but I've taken the ONLY antidote to cure the eternal effects of it.

Your'e right, Christianity is ABSOLUTELY intolerant about ANY other way to achieve eternal life. This truth infuriates the world.

Deeds have NOTHING to do with salvation. NO ONE will get saved by their own works. Not the most generous, giving person, who dedicated their life to helping the needy, not the Pope, not Mother Teresa, NO ONE! ONLY by the blood of Jesus Christ will anyone be saved.

You'd better read Hebrews Chapter 6 and 10.

And yet believing is a verb. Taking an antidote is an action. And walking down a path is something that must be 'done'.

Yet apparently you can 'acheive' by doing none of these things. Explain to me how that works again.

Ok I'll be happy to explain again, by reciting the Gospel which is encapsulated in this verse:

Romans 10:9
If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Actually, Jhana, the problem is much worse than you realize. Evolution, by its very nature, violates the 2nd law of thermodynamics big-time, and therefore it already is a mathematical impossibility (according to the laws of physics). So, try to understand, evolution has already been proven to be impossible, therefore, people need to be looking at the only other method of origins, which is the supernatural, because natural has already disqualified itself by its own laws.

You'd better read Hebrews Chapter 6 and 10.

Heb 6:4
4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age
6 and who have fallen[c] away, to be brought back to repentance.

Heb 10:26
26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

So it seems it is impossible for me to return to repentance and I only await judgment and raging fire.

Is this not in contradiction to what Jesus said?

John 10:28
28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all[c]; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”

John 6:44
44 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.

The answer is the question: You never believed in your heart.
If you did, you would continue to believe.

Wrong, it only violates the 2nd Law if we are in a closed system which we are not.

It doesn't. Read this, it explains it rather well.

Curious About Astronomy: Does evolution contradict the second law of thermodynamics?

Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Luke 10:26-28 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. Was not Abraham our father justified by works? You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. Likewise, was not Rabab the harlot also justified by works? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. (vv.21-25)

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
