I know the feeling, when I rework art over and over it can definitely take a while XD

I had to actually take a break because I was getting frustrated that I couldn't get it right. I saw a picture of a baby dragon online and tried to follow the directions it gave but for me I can never draw like that I try to hard to do it as the other person did and end up making horrible pictures and get super frustrated.

So I just learned the basic form of the dragon and made it my own instead

never played neo pets before im not even sure what they are lol, as for a deviant art account I have one but it's been used like once lol

Neopets is a game site started by a couple, Adam and Donna, way back in the late nineties, which they sold to Viacom less than six years later for about 160 million. It was originally developed for college age students as a game site where you could have and care for virtual pets, but the site itself was quite complex, with different worlds, each world having its own set of pets and virtual shops, which sold items you could use on your pets, or to battle other pets, such as weapons, magic items, food, etc... The items were bought with Neopoints which were earned through playing games and selling items in your virtual shop.

Viacom introduced items for real cash, though there had always been merchandise in the form of plush toys that looked like the site pets (your dragons look a little like Scorchios). The items you bought with Neocash were virtual items for your pets, or tokens to play one of the most popular player to player games (called Key Quest). Eventually Neopets was sold again, and it is now owned by Knowledge Adventure, though the members know it as being owned by Jumpstart. When Jumpstart took over three years ago, and they eventually had to change servers, most of the site broke, and they lost a lot of players, because it took so long to fix some things, and other aspects of the site were simply removed or disabled or remained broken.

Maybe your dragons look like the Draiks One of the things I did not like about Neopets was that people complained if they wanted something and it was hard to get, in other words, they did not want to work for the things they wanted, and the case in point is Draiks, because they used to be worth mega millions, which admittedly was a bit much... but then a daily was introduced where you could possibly win something very valuable, and Draik eggs were among the prizes (Krawk potions also, as well as other piratey themed items and pets). So over time, the expensive items devalued. Now those pets are plenteous and they can be bought for well under one million points. (A Draik egg would morph into a full grown Draik )

They didn't want to work hard to get them huh? Clearly they have never played world of warcraft. When battle pets were intoduced in the game there was this dragon called the azure dragon you could farm there is only a .05% chance it drops so you would be lucky if you got one within a two week time frame of farming sometimes it even takes an entire month of non stop farming and having to pull lots of all nighters just to get one. I farmed for over a month trying to get one and after I finally did I never wanted to have to do that again.

Now that was beyond hard

Oh, another thing that became a HUGE problem with the site was hackers... so many people got hacked, and had their accounts and pets and other valuables stolen from them, and if you had a gallery with nice collections, people would beg for stuff from you, some of the things they said would be ridiculous, LOL. ah, well, it got pretty personal when my daughter's account was repeatedly hacked/stolen from her. She managed to get it back, but the hacker stole lots of things and she did not get everything back, though she did get a lot of it back, which in itself was unusual, because that was not always guaranteed that TNT (the neopets team) would return your items... the hacker left notes on her account, too, taunting my daughter, geesh, some people, huh?

I have never played WoW. I have played very few video type games, a little bit of Tetrus LOL and PacMan wow that sounds so old, and I know the games got way more complex with better plots, characters, story lines and awesome graphics etc. My daughter had a game boy type of device, and her dad has also played games where you went on some kind of adventure, exploring lands, looking for things, building up your strengths etc. I never went there! But my daughter did sign me up to Neopets, and it was something we shared for many years... our love of all things Neo I had some really nice pets and a great gallery of purple items, and gifted my daughter many lovely things as well as helping her grow her gallery

Wow, that is very sad, and yes, it was a constant struggle for many people, continually working to build up an account after an old one was lost (if you did not sign in for eighteen months it could be deleted from the server) or hacked, or maybe you just forgot the password, or the birthday you used when you signed up as a kid and were trying to protect your identity... things have changed so much since then, but people still need to be careful, and the net is designed to hook you, just like many other things...

I have never played WoW. I have played very few video type games, a little bit of Tetrus LOL and PacMan wow that sounds so old, and I know the games got way more complex with better plots, characters, story lines and awesome graphics etc. My daughter had a game boy type of device, and her dad has also played games where you went on some kind of adventure, exploring lands, looking for things, building up your strengths etc. I never went there! The thing for me was that wow was a game that was fun but requires total dedication to play, I just played it casually and people were very rude to me because of that saying I should not even be playing the game or the called me a casual and to go kill myself.

It was a fun game but when I saw that I was getting a bit to into it to the point where I barely spent any time with God I had to back off and stop. I prefer casual games anyways like pokemon because I don't like spending all my time focused on one thing I like to do different stuff and i need to be able to spend lots of time with God everyday

I learned some HTML and designed many pages... each pet (you were allowed four pets per account, and five accounts total, though if you paid to become a premium member, you could have five pets on your main account) had two pages connected to it, one of which you could code with an incredible amount of information, so people would have help pages telling you how to do any one of the myriad number of things you could do on Neo... like collect avatars. There were hundreds of avatars available to use on the site, some of them default, but many others of them free clickables or quite easy, and others still much more difficult to get, limited time frame, or expensive items required, etc. Plots also happened every once in a while, and I happened to create a plot page for the one plot that remained active for years after its inception, and my page (the last time I saw it) had almost two hundred thousand hits on it There was quite a bit of a community there, with boards and stuff. I hung out on the help boards quite a bit over the years, once I got over the initial frenzy of trying to save points to buy stuff all the time. So I know what you mean about it being consuming... Neo really brought this to mind:"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal." Because as already mentioned, you could lose it all in a heart beat after working so hard to get it all in the first place...

The thing for me was that wow was a game that was fun but requires total dedication to play, I just played it casually and people were very rude to me because of that saying I should not even be playing the game or the called me a casual and to go kill myself.

It was a fun game but when I saw that I was getting a bit to into it to the point where I barely spent any time with God I had to back off and stop. That's terrible that people would talk to you like that just because you were a more casual player Neo was very strict about what could be said on the boards, trying always to be family friendly, no politics at all, no religious talk, no profanity... though people who knew how to hack the site could sometimes get past the filters, though they never came to bombard us with talk about god haha no, it would always be gay this and gay that and lots of profanity until the staff got on it and cleaned everything up and deleted those threads

Eh it didn't really bother me that much, the sad truth is that most players that trash talk like that on an online game like wow are actually very sad in real life and that game is mainly all they have so they vent their problems on players like me
