I like how you try to answer for me in the above (sneaky), but you are the one who admitted repeatedly to willfully sinning. So judge yourself, or go for a test drive with your religion. :)

This is why we have to limit our interaction with you. Whenever we try to look at your religion to see what it really consists of - every time you do this deflection so that the truth will not be brought out into the open and thus your religion be exposed for what it really is.

...and in this case because you know you have willfully sinned in the past ( and you will in the future as well because you are still in the flesh ) and in your religion - it means that there is no more sacrifice available for those sins of yours.

The truth is that the willful sin in Hebrews 10 is the rejecting of Christ by the Hebrews to go back to their temple sacrifices for their sins after receiving the "knowledge" of the truth - this is unbelief in Christ's work and there remains no more sacrifice for sins because only Christ's blood has taken away sins.

The gospel of the grace of Christ speaks of better things. The blood of Jesus speaks of better things.

I believe I am done trying to get any truth from you. We have dealt with you in the past and we are not ignorant of your devices.

I believe the saints can see the truth here concerning Christ's completed work for us. We are secure in Him and in His love and grace towards us that believe.

You have a good night.

Pay attention to what I said in my OP----->>>>>

Example....
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

Yes He will cleanse us from all unrighteousness.... On the Day of the resurrection when we are given incorruptible bodies and we are transformed into sinless perfect spirits

Note::: 1 John 1:9 Does not state WHEN God was going to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.. It is people like you who have added to the verse that the cleansing takes place within this life and within this corrupt flesh..

The If qualification for a true Christian is dependent on us continuing to Believe Jesus and Trust in the Atonement that Jesus secured for our salvation...

So many wrong things spoken of here as facts, and so little time to correct it all.

@Bruce: You frequently bring up the Perfect Tense. Did you know there are three types, all with radically different ways of using it?

Perfect: the force of the perfect indicatives simply that it describes an event that, completed in the past, has results also existing in the present time. (i.e. in relationship to the speaker) This is different than the English perfect, which is a completed action in the past.

1. Intensive (Resultative) Perfect

The perfect may be used to emphasize the results or present state produced by a past action. The English present is often the best translation for such a perfect.

Mark 6:14 Ἰωάννης ὁ βαπτίζων ἐγήγερται ἐκ νεκρῶν,
John the Baptizer is risen from the dead.

This would be your example of "It is written," γεγραμμένος even though it is the perfect tense! (So not, "It has been written" although it is a perfect passive Indicative.

2. Extensive (Consummative) Perfect

The perfect may be used to emphasize the completed action of a past action or process from which a present state emerges. It should be translated in English as a present perfect.

John 1:34 ἑώρακα, καὶ μεμαρτύρηκα ὅτι οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ υἱος τοῦ θεοῦ.
I have seen and I have testified that this is the Son of God.

3. Perfect with a Present Force

Certain verbs occur frequently (or exclusively) in the perfect tense without the usual aspectual significance, especially with stative perfect verbs. They have come to be used just like present tense verbs. Oἶδα (Oida) is the most commonly used verb in this category, but other verbs also are used this way: ἕστηκα, πέποιθα, μέμνημαι, κέκραγα.

John 1:26 μέσος ὑμῶν ἕστηκεν ὃν ὑμεῖς οὐκ οἴδατε,
In your midst stands one whom you do not know. *

Please be aware of this when you start lecturing about the Perfect tense. And cite which one it is and which grammarian confirms you are right about your example. The above comes from "Greek Grammar: Beyond the Basics by Daniel Wallace.

As to all this stuff about the word "if" in Greek, those of you who downplay its importance simply do not understand both the way conditional sentences are used in Greek, and how important they are in the Bible. But its getting late, so I will leave that grammar lesson for another day! If you don't trust me, try googling "conditional statements in the Greek and in the Bible."

Finally I am seeing so much anger and maliciousness in this thread and many others. There is a constant slandering of certain people, and I admire them for not responding in kind!

When you start getting angry at people because they do not agree with you, no matter how wrong you think they are, the best practice is to analyze the verse that you don't agree with. Then read in context of the passage or chapter it comes out of. Then rethink your personal theological prejudices. Hopefully, you will calm down, and have a way to continue a reasonable and rational discussion.

Do NOT repeat the same verses or same stock phrases and insult over and over. That just reeks of a cult. It reeks of having been learned off some website. Let the Spirit of God lead you. Don't make up your mind just because someone else says it.

There are a number of theological issues in this thread and others that I need to do a lot more study on. So I am not supporting anyone, but I do have an idea which way I am leaning. But I am not just going to throw out a bunch of random verses that I got from a random google or Biblegateway.com word search. That is simply NOT Bible study or scholarship. And right now I am just seeing far too many people claiming to be scholars that are just parroting the same things over and over.

I agree that Christ has already atoned for all our sins. I think that we can have assurance that if we confess our sins that he is faithful and will forgive us. In that sense, we can trust in the continual grace and goodness of God. I do think it's also important to keep in mind that sin disrupts our fellowship and communion with Christ. Sin is injurious to Christ. Even though he has already atoned for all the sins of the world ( and future sins), we still need to ask his forgiveness. We don't want to presume upon his goodness. Those that love Christ will always feel remorse and sadness that they have sinned.

I for one am not about to explain all the so-called intricacies about the Greek language when I post about the perfect tense because the focus of the post is on the work that Christ has done for us. People do not need to know about how some people have split up the use of a tense in their own minds. That is for Greek scholars to haggle over within their own group.

Even if they do come up with a system within some of themselves that try to differentiate the use of the perfect tense or any other aspect of Greek. The common person does not need to know any of that to hear from the Holy Spirit the revelation of Christ and His finished work for us.

The so-called Greek scholar has no superiority over others in the body of Christ in receiving the revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ from the Holy Spirit no matter what they think or if they try to exert superiority over others in the body of Christ because of their perceived knowledge about an ancient language.

In saying that truth - I do love to read what they have to say as their opinion has just as much worth as others in the body of Christ. Many times what they are saying confirms the witness of the Holy Spirit within me and sometimes it doesn't. They are just speaking what "they believe" and in that belief it could be true or not entirely true as well.

@ Angela - I do love the simple explanation of the perfect tense as put out by all people which you have kindly included. Thank you! It speaks volumes of the wonderful , unsearchable work our Lord has done for us because of His great grace, mercy and love.

"Perfect: the force of the perfect indicatives simply that it describes an event that, completed in the past, has results also existing in the present time. (i.e. in relationship to the speaker)"

I believe I will just post the perfect tense meaning as it comes up and I will leave the lecturing of others to yourself. I welcome your input as always but I am not going to accept it just because of the way some peopleinterpret some things differently and find someone in a book to seemingly back up what is said. I too took Greek but I have no desire to go into the little nuances of it with others. I want to show the beautiful completed work of our Lord Jesus Christ and I will stick with that.

I agree with you too about how to deal with some mindsets/groups.

( these are my own words ) - that it can be defiling and we can end up in a 1 Cor. 15:33 situation and when left to fester - it can produce a Hebrews 12:15 situation. This is why Romans 16:17 sometimes needs to be implemented.

I firmly agree with you in reading all scripture in context as well as in context of the finished work of Christ. As far as posting scriptures - that's how we grow and learn by those scriptures. Hopefully we can find good soil as we know that faith comes from hearing and hearing from the word of Christ.

Romans 10:17 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ
.

I pray that the Lord grants us repentance in the things that we all need as we walk with Him with a pure heart. We need the revelation of Christ Himself in our life. There is no greater revelation than to know Him and the Father for who they truly are.

my sister, if I am not mistaken, the children of Israel heard the gospel when they were in the wilderness, 1500 years before Christ was born.
Now, don't go off on a rant. I am just telling you what Scripture says. O course they needed a Messiah, just like we do. The good news (or gospel), is that God made a way!!!

Or rather that God IS the Way....which is the good news of the gospel. That God has come in the Person of Jesus Christ and done for man, and in man, what we could never do for ourselves.

Could you please answer my question above in blue. I am interested in your religion. I want to take your religion out for a test run to see how it stacks up about this "wilful sinning" talked about in Hebrews 10. This is only the 3rd or 4th time I have asked. Thank you.

Every sin is by decision, albeit some decisions are rather thoughtless. Decisions made while the flesh is on "automatic pilot" are thoughtless. These are those we have to repent of & go on with our lives for God.

Then there's those that are made because our heart has hardened against God. No guilt, no repentance, just don't care anymore. It's rebellion against God & His Word. It is then we can be turned over to a reprobate mind. (useless)

I didn't answer because some of your team is chomping at the bits looking for an occasion against me.

It saddens me that some peeps can't embrace the fullness of God's love and grace. One of the most underrated verses in all Scripture is Luke 12:32 -- "Fear not little flock, for it is your Heavenly Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom."

I can understand your reluctance to not answer and I do agree with what you have written here for the most part. Thank you.

I'm pretty sure most of us know when we are doing something wrong and it is a conscious decision. There is always the flesh with us until we die or the Lord comes for us! Yes!

So, this wilful sinning done in the flesh - if Hebrews 10 is saying that there remains no more sacrifice for sins - then these sins would not be taken care of....because these sins were done willfully.

This is why the true wilful sinning is the rejection of the Lord Jesus Christ sacrifice for us because there is no other way for sins to be dealt with but by faith in the blood of our Lord.

That was my only point - that the willful sin is not moral sinning as in breaking the law but the rejection of Christ after coming to the knowledge of what the truth is and going to the Jewish temple to take care of sins. This is unbelief in Christ and His work for us.

Thank you for having the integrity to answer. Shows good character. Bless you!

no no!!! Paul had the revelation of the mysteries of the gospel already given to him by the Lord. his letters to Timothy fall amongs his last letters after he had establishes churches based on the revelation that Christ gave to him. he only use the scriptures( OT) to interpret what was revealed to him. Remember he called the gospel given to him, ' my gospel' to differentiate it from the other gospels!

Yes, but you forget Paul's other letters were to churches in other cities & stayed in those cities. Timothy had no access to those letters unless he traveled to those areas. All he did have was the Law & then only in the synogogue or if he could afford to buy it.

Wilful sinning is wilfully & continually breaking God's commands/teachings of Christ/writings of the apostles. A wilfull breaking of God's Word.

Stating this sin is against Christ only & not the doctrine of the NT is heretical in & of itself, for it's not written nor implied anywhere in scripture, except these two:
1 Corinthians 8:12 (KJV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
Matthew 25:37-46 (KJV)
[SUP]37 [/SUP]Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? [SUP]38 [/SUP]When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? [SUP]39 [/SUP]Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? [SUP]40 [/SUP]And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. [SUP]41 [/SUP]Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: [SUP]42 [/SUP]For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: [SUP]43 [/SUP]I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. [SUP]44 [/SUP]Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? [SUP]45 [/SUP]Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. [SUP]46 [/SUP]And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Plus, separating the two denotes that sinning wilfully against the scripture is automatically forgiven, while against Christ is not. The problem is you cannot separate the two because Jesus IS the Word. (John 1:1)

Your constancy for me to answer your question was you already knew you'd agree in part & interject your doctrine into it.
BUSTED!

When one spreads a false doctrine that is not based entirely on the good solid foundation of God’s Word of Truth, ( which is our Rock and Chief corner stone), then certain verses need be ignored or rejected entirely. In order for the lie to prosper the Truth must be misrepresented, twisted, and even flat out rejected in some cases. I have found there is one single misrepresentation, or false doctrine belief that causes so many of its followers to reject, misrepresent, twist, and even outright deny the very words of God and warnings in many parts of scripture in order to uphold this foundational error on which the whole of the false doctrine is built upon.

This one single misrepresentation of scripture that has caused so many persons to be led astray, and has also caused them to want to believe many more lies in order to prop up and uphold the original misrepresentation of scripture is this…… “All future sins are already forgiven no matter what one does.” This false doctrine belief is the cornerstone belief of Universalism, OSAS doctrine, and many of the false grace doctrines we see being widely accepted today. The simple reason why it is so widely accepted by the world is because the whole world lies in wickedness. And so the notion, and the doctrine that you can sin and still be saved is a very popular one for those who are still of the world and living to the lusts of the flesh.

This false doctrine sets no condition on the person’s part to abide in the faith, which is to abide in the very words of God and doctrine of Jesus Christ. This single misrepresentation of scripture has also caused many to also believe there is no need for confession of sin, no need for repentance of and from sin, no need to forgive others of sin in order to be forgiven of God, no need for an obedient walk of faith, and also no need to stop sinning.

So why would one think all the other parts and warnings in scripture do not apply to them? Because in the minds of its followers “all future sins are already forgiven” so why bother with the rest? This single false belief also rejects any notion that one can even fall away from the faith, even though the warnings in scripture are numerous. Not to mention all the warnings about walking in the flesh and not ceasing from sin. This false belief also rejects this verse here…Matthew 12:32 “And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

And so if all future sins are already forgiven with no possible way to fall away from the faith, then why the need for all the many warnings in scripture, and why a need for a judgement, for hell and a lake of fire? Makes no sense at all, if indeed all future sins are already forgiven right? Truth is, there is no verse in scripture that says “all future sins are already forgiven.”
But there are those that specifically speak of past sins being forgiven.

Romans 3:25 “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;”

2 Peter 1:1-10 “
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:[SUP]2 [/SUP]Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

[SUP]3 [/SUP]According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:[SUP]4 [/SUP]Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;[SUP]6 [/SUP]And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;[SUP]7 [/SUP]And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.[SUP]9 [/SUP]But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.[SUP]10 [/SUP]Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:”

Now, don’t get me wrong. God can and will forgive you all your past sins, and even future sins, but there are some “ifs” or conditions that have be met by the believer if one sins after coming to Christ and being washed. If one hardens their hearts to all those warnings and conditions of repenting of sin, and walking in willful ongoing rebellion and wickedness then there remains no more sacrifice for their sins.

Hebrews 10:26
“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Those of you who focus on the sins of the flesh will be deceived by them. God never said to not sin, he told his people to listen to His voice and obey His commandments which is the only way to learn why the sinful flesh is condemned to death during this first age.

Yes, but you forget Paul's other letters were to churches in other cities & stayed in those cities. Timothy had no access to those letters unless he traveled to those areas. All he did have was the Law & then only in the synogogue or if he could afford to buy it.

Another thing to take into consideration is the years Timothy spent with Paul as he taught the revelation of Christ in us who believe to Timothy as well as listening to Paul teach others - plus he got to see the true Christian life of faith in Christ alone in Paul's life.

Timothy was Paul's true son in the faith as Paul taught him Christ. What blessing that would have been!

I disagree with you as the willful sinning is rejecting Christ's sacrifice. I realize some of our church upbringing and traditions have taught us differently as in the Pentecostal religion which for the most part believes we lose salvation because of moral sinning.

This goes against what Paul said to the Corinthians and they were the worse bunch morally and yet - Paul called then saints, sanctified - that they were the righteousness of God in Christ. ( read 1 Cor. chapter 1 )

All sinning is willful and if according to your definition - then there is no more sacrifice for these moral sins...then all willful sinning that was ever done is not taken care of by the blood of Christ. You will be forever left in your willful sins according to your theory because their remains no more sacrifice for these willful sins ( Heb. 10:26 ).

It is not consistent with the gospel of the grace of Christ but it does conflict with some of our religious ideas.

Sinning against Christ in the area of not walking in love with our brethren is NOT the same as rejecting Christ's sacrifice for sins as the Hebrews were exhorted not to do in the book of Hebrews.

You can believe whatever you want but this belief that willful sinning has no more sacrifice for sins available is in fact any moral sin and not the rejection of Christ's sacrifice - is not consistent with the work of Christ. It is talking about the willful sin of rejecting Christ's sacrifice for sins and relying on the temple sacrifices instead.

Anyway ...I'm not going to beat this dead horse. I'll leave this in the hands of the Holy Spirit. Have a great day.

The lie that all future sins are already forgiven speaks contrary to the whole Truth, a simple example....

Matthew 12:32 “And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Luke 12:10
And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

In order to uphold a lie,
certain scriptures like the above have to be ignored, twisted, or even dismissed.

When a person Is born of the Spirit, the spirit Is saved and sealed.

Born again spiritually of GOD and the seed cannot be corrupted,so then If this Is true and we know that this IS true, how can a Born again Christian blaspheme GOD from the heart.

I think you are saying that blasphemy from the flesh Is the same as blasphemy from the heart.

If the person has been born of Incorruptible seed,(saved)how can they blaspheme.

Note::: 1 John 1:9 Does not state WHEN God was going to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.. It is people like you who have added to the verse that the cleansing takes place within this life and within this corrupt flesh..

Yes the cleansing of our hearts and minds does take place in this life by spiritual rebirth, how else could one be truly set free from sin in this life? The physical body already has a death sentence, and we will put off this mortal tabernacle, but when a man is born again of the Spirit of God there is a change of heart and a purification process follows. Many have been lied to and told you cannot be set free from sin in this life, but that is exactly what Jesus Christ came to do for you.

Here is an old post I made on the subject....

Some folks will tell you that in this life you can never be free from sin, and that you will always sin, and be in sin. But this my friends is not of faith in the good news gospel and power of God in Jesus Christ. That is another gospel, and doctrine of doubt in what the power of God can do you in your life by faith in Jesus Christ.

Jesus came to save us from our
sins, to cleanse us from all iniquity, and to also set us free from sin, and to also give us the power by the grace of God so that sin shall not rule over you, but rather righteousness.

Matthew 1:21 “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

1 John 5:17All unrighteousness is sin:….” Jesus cleanses us from all sin>>>1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. = 0 sins left after cleansing. And then he empowers us by His Spirit and by Christ working in us (seed of promise) to remain sin free>>>1 John 3:9 “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” = being “In Christ” and not being “in sin”.

Being made free from
sin….

Romans 6:3-7 "
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.[SUP]5 [/SUP]For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:[SUP]6 [/SUP]Knowing this, that our old
man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.[SUP]7 [/SUP]For he that is dead is freed from sin.”

Romans 6:18 “Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Romans 6:20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

John 8:34-36 “
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth
sin is the servant of sin.
[SUP]35 [/SUP]And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.

[SUP]36 [/SUP]If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

So don’t doubt the power of God in Christ Jesus, but rather believe. Peace

Amen....not understanding this truth causes all kinds of man-made doctrines to try to help save ourselves. Christ alone is the Savior and what He did was enough for all eternity!
