They really believe alright.....in a dogma formulated by an ex Catholic in the 1500s....one that does not align with the bible and one that must skew, twist, re-arrange, and or misapply dozens of scriptural truths to fit what they are selling!

you forgot where they ignore scripture altogether and just quote 'the church fathers' that's a thing too

Ezekiel chapter 10, a wheel in the midst of a wheel. The outer wheel (the elect in the wide gate), the inner wheel (the elect who have been revealed the doctrine of Christ).

Romans 11, The remnant equals the strait gate. And there are more.
never heard that before

chapter 10 seems to be about something else I think? never studied Ezekiel much though
It is a good book....if one takes the vision of chapter 1, color codes it and them makes a list.....some very, very interesting pics comes out of it.....pics that MANY cannot grasp or accept within mainstream xianity!

that would be why I have not made any concrete conclusions on it nor pretend I have all the answers

too many would like to stick a pin through any mystery and go 'there's Waldo' :geek:

I probably cut out or was awakened out of mainstream years back. left kicking and screaming too

hey...you are not talking to a babe in Christ now and I am not new around these parts. YOU have been advised mulitple of mulitple times that you misrepresent what those who are not Calvin's prodigy believe and it is not the phrase 'choosing God'. You have not quoted anyone saying that because no one does say it.

What does the Bible say about those who deliberately LIE? I really hesitate to call anyone a liar, but when someone consistently lies what else would they be?

you can prop up your new found friend all you want, but you cannot answer her prayers and you cannot give her a relationship with Jesus

so so so sad

AS it is, you don't have to choose, right? Because you mistakenly believe there are no choices DESPITE the fact that God consistently says to choose throughout the Bible. If your child dies in an accident you think God made that happen. In spite of the fact that the Bible indicates we are to be aware of the enemy who wishes to destroy us and we should pray and keep watch.

Calvinism is a nasty piece of work and the attitude it seems to spawn in its adherents is equally so.
Did not even have to see who you responded to.....and fully agree with your assessment.....100%

Please notice I post scripture to nov25 that clearly indicates Jesus is a sacrifice for EVERYONE.

what does this loose cannon do? he laughs

even if you are a Calvinist, that should give you pause.

He laughs at the thought that Jesus offers salvation to all because tulip teaches him he is special.

God allows us to continue with who and what we are and He will also send further delusion to those who are deluded but you will not find that truth in the tulip playbook
He won't be laughing when he is on his face before God in judgment!

If as the New Testament declares, the devil seeks to devour, kill, steal and destroy, then he must be working for nothing if tulip is correct.

Why would the god of this world go out of his way to steal the word?

4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. II Corinthians 4

If it is true that God has already decided to only saved some as tulip declares, then why does the devil do the work he does?

For that matter, I cannot remember a Calvinist ever saying a thing about the devil. However the devil is a deceiver and as Jesus said, a liar from the beginning.

Don't fall for his lies. You DO have a choice in what you believe and God is not the author of evil nor does He create people to throw into the lake of fire with the devil. That belief is a lie and the devil is happy whenever someone believes it. He loves to see believe that because it throws God into a bad light and actually takes eyes off the fact the devil is behind the scenes doing what he has always done.
There are so many holes in the Calvinite's dogma, one coud use it to strain pasta.......nothing but skewed verses, words rejected and or re-defined, scriptures out of context etc......like I have said....Calvinism is at the end of the day just another man made "ISM"....like MORMONISM........as false as it comes.....thank God I am not a part of that legalistic error!

1Ho, every one that thirsts, come you to the waters, and he that has no money; come you, buy, and eat; yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

2Why do you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfies not? listen diligently to me, and eat you that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

6Seek you the LORD while he may be found, call you on him while he is near:

7Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, said the LORD.

9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

10For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and returns not thither, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

11So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

you cannot just read verses 1 - 2. you must read and abide by verses 3 - 6 also. ☺

1 John 2:3
3
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

this is how We Will Know!

Yes walk by faith the unseen eternal by doing the will of food of God. Not just hearing it .That which the disciples knew not of. They had no understanding of faith. The mystery made know in the parable.

Yes as many as the father gave power to come they alone are the elect. Those he did not give pwer cannot come (no faith) The Son of man had no power of his own . He did the will of the Father working as one

Really? Well, I guess it’s fitting he plays the role of the free will’r 😂😂😂
So this is the behavior (or fruit, since fruit was brought up earlier) of the elect? To represent other believers in this way and then laugh about it. Can you really fault people for not accepting Calvin as teacher?

On October 27, 1553, green wood was used for the fire so Servetus would be slowly baked alive from the feet upward. For 30 minutes he screamed for mercy and prayed to Jesus as the fire worked its way up his body to burn the theology book strapped to his chest as a symbol of his heresy. Calvin summarized the execution this way:
“Servetus . . . suffered the penalty due to his heresies, but was it by my will? Certainly his arrogance destroyed him not less than his impiety. And what crime was it of mine if our Council, at my exhortation, indeed, but in conformity with the opinion of several Churches, took vengeance on his execrable blasphemies?” - Calvin

Wow just wow. "Was it by my will" spoken by this murderer rings about the same as "am I my brother's keeper"?
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

The kind of man who delights in taking vengeance and murdering other believers by torturing them slowly cannot possibly claim to possess the knowledge of the truth.

2 Timothy 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
Romans 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: (...)
Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Pretty sad ..... and some on this very thread have made excuses and/or defended Calvin's behavior.

Fairly confident that Ezekiel's vision was chapter 1...not 10
Ezekiel's vision started in verse 1 and ended in verse 48. Verse 1 and verse 10 are about the wheel within a wheel. What is your interpretation of Ezekiel's vision?

1 Tim 2:4, I am guessing that you like to keep the scriptures in context so that they will harmonize with each other. The "all men" in 1 Tim 2:4 is the same as the "as many as" in Romans 8:14, Gal 6:15, Phil 3:15, Acts 13:48, Acts 2:39, John 17:2, John 1:12.

You also are probably among those that misinterpret 2 Pet 3:9; The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to "us-ward", not willing that "any" should "perish", but that "all" should come to repentance.

In order to understand who Peter is talking to, we have to go back to chapter 1, verse 1, and he is talking to "them that have obtained like precious faith".

Peter even includes himself in his warning, to those of like precious faith, by using the word "usward". Peter is warning them that when they commit a sin, they should repent, in order to not "lose" (perish) their fellowship with God.

Little words have large meanings in a lot of the scriptures.
