They teach things that the the Lord does not teach in His Word due to their claim that "we are special and have special understanding that others cannot grasp", then they tell others that they should "sit down, shut up, and we'll tell you what to believe"

Calvinists are thew poster child for what NOT to do

Social distortion. You honestly believe that quote represents Calvinism in general terms? Can I ask where this quote was taken from?

Was it from the official webpage of Calvin?

I would kindly ask you to review official sources, and quote those. If you are just picking just random quotes off the net, you might want to rethink your sources. In other words....

2 Corinthians 11:3
as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

So, your equating predestination with satan?

I have seen enough. Just believe what ever you want buddy!

The way the calvinists teach it yes because they teach that God has predestined most people to hell and is actively preventing most people from getting saved as they falsely claim Jesus only went to the cross for a few people who just happen to be calvinists

Well if you ever want to escape the cult of calvinism you know where to find me.

P = perseverance of the saints. Basically OSAS, supported by verses such as John 10:28–29, Romans 8:29–30, and Philippians 1:6.

Jesus is the author and perfecter of my faith.
Amen!
That's good to hear.

I'm not a Calvinist, or Arminian, but I do agree with your point backed by those verses for sure.
My view is likely the same with many people who identify with Calvinism as to God holding onto the believer.
The disagreement I have with the religious dogmas of some I've heard teach is that the saved will live up to a standard of the law defined by the leadership of those judging.
For example, there are "baptist", etc pastors in my area who teach that those who are addicted to certain sins never really got saved. They basically teach that the lost must quit breaking the laws of God and put their faith into obedience to the law plus Christ. I disagree with those who would equate "perseverance" with that of keeping the law whatever groups they ID with.

We are sanctified progressively as we are receiving the word of God. It's just the front/back loading works in the gospel that I beware of

So where do we see in the New Testament where God is forcing people to walk with Him?

You know that so called "irresistible grace" thingy bob the calvinists talk about.

And what about the calvinist claim that God wants most people to go to hell?

Whassup with that? That's not what the New Testament teaches.

That's not what I said at all.
Perhaps you misunderstand and am mixing me up with someone else's comment.

To clarify, I do Not believe in TULIP theology.
To be fair to those Calvinists friends here, they don't all believe in the full TULIP tenants of Calvinism but they can speak for themselves.
I'm glad my dear sister @Magenta did. I agree with her statement about the gift of everlasting life (once you receive that salvation, you are always saved). Probation is a series of ongoing works that people like Ellen Gould White taught, that I reject. To believe the verses Magenta posted is not unique to just the Calvinists. It is unique to everyone who decided to repent of believing in their own good works, (like you gotta keep walking with God), and decide to trust Jesus who DID ALWAYS walk with God and gave His life for us sinful people. That's biblical repentance.

There are those who call others Calvinists simply for believing what the Bible says, since what
the Bible explicitly articulates is not widely accepted by free willers, many of whom are Pelagian

heretics also. Those heretics often contradict, dismiss, deny and rewrite the verses they do not
like, even if it is the very words of Jesus Christ Himself. It is shameful to be sure, but some of them
would rather blaspheme God than ever admit they were wrong. God guides the humble in what is right...

My buddy's Presbyterian pastor told him that about my views on free will. I looked up that Catholic heretic and his beliefs. We had nothing in common except free will. After I trusted Christ as Savior, I decided to reject the RC heresies I was raised with including the belief of salvific infant baptism, which his pastor decided to embrace.

Good, because all 5 point of calvinism is false doctrine

"Repent of your sins" salvation is a lie

Taught of course by those that falsely believe we can continue living in sin and still be saved.

These are the same people that go around telling people they were born a sinner and proudly proclaim they are sinners!

Yep, that's exactly what the calvinists do all the time.

They claim God wants most people to burn in hell claiming Jesus only want to the cross for a few folks who just happen to be calvinists and they claim God is actively preventing the majority people from getting saved which they claim because they confuse the Lord with the devil thinking it's the same guy

We had nothing in common except free will. After I trusted Christ as Savior,

If you did not have free will you would not have been able to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and would still be lost in your sins

And the calvinists would say "looks like God decided He didn't want you to be saved, tough break!"

Calvinists don't know if they have been selected for salvation either and just hope they are when they die. They have this in common with moslems who also believe their fake god only selects a few for salvation and wants most people to burn in hell.
