I was gonna leave but I don't want Kayla to come back to a fight with folks quoting and misusing my words.
And now you know why I have him on ignore. He has insulted me numerous times, as well as others.
Sissy, I am not being snarky when I say this, but that's why there's an ignore option. If ppl bother you and cause you to get angry, you are being really unwise in not using it. Yes, I don't like to use it either, but sometimes discretion is the better part of valor.
When I see that ppl add nothing to my understanding of the bible, but rather get joy in insulting me, I put them on ignore and leave them to themselves.
Hey Ariel82 pray for the brother and move on. If needed put him on ignore. Any distraction from the topic only suits his end goal of placing the spotlight on him instead of the discussion.

So if someone lives their whole life selfishly, never darkens a church door, and on their death bed, they make a choice and decide to pray a sinner's prayer, are they saved?

God saved my father 5 months before he died at 83. He had never lived for God, never given a dime to anyone, and he had lots of money, lived for himself. Yet, all that changed in a second, and he knew what he had been missing his whole life - Jesus Christ. He redeemed the remaining time by witnessing to the staff and other patients, till he could not even move or get out of bed.
My father was saved on his deathbed. He is part of the elect. God knew from the foundation of the world, he would save my father. I don't understand why it took so long, but I am sure God does!
I Timothy 2:1-7 “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”
The context is to pray for all people, no matter their position, why so that we can live peaceably and quiet lives, because God's intent, inclined, disposed or wishing, what do all those words mean. They mean that, "feel or express a strong desire or hope for something that is not easily attainable; want something that cannot or probably will not happen." The Greek word "θέλω" means "to be inclined, disposed". By the choice of this word it further shows that God must elect or chose, because God's knows that man left to himself will not chose Him.
Why? John 3:18-20 "Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed."
Christ's death was for all men or was a payment for all the sin man or the propitiation, Romans 3:25 "received by faith", Hebrews 2:17 "for the sins of the people", I John 2:2 "for our sins, and not for ours only but for the sins of the whole world." and 4:10 "for our sins", these verses are about our ransom or propitiation, received by faith, for the people, for our sins and of the whole world, for our sins. The ransom or propitiation covers the sins of the whole world, because it's God's desire that all men might be saved, yet Act 2:23-24 "this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.24 God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it." The elect are in that definite plan and foreknowledge.
Why? John 10:14-15 "I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me,15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep." Ephesians 5:25-26 "Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,"
I am sorry I went so far, to answer your simple question, all, is of all men, not the elect. God's desire is that all be saved, He's not willing that any man should perish, but He knows the elect will be saved because it is His will or definite plan and foreknowledge that they be saved. The crucifixion was not done in hopes that men would receiver it by faith, it was done with a definite plan and foreknowledge that He would die for the elect and they would be saved. Here's something of interest, John 6:37 "All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out." Why did Jesus add "and whoever comes to me I will never cast out", because those that the Father gives to Him will come to Him. Jesus is showing His desire that all men be saved, as well as the Father does. Because He knows the elect of the Father gives will come, but His desire is that all men would come, knowing they won't. There were prophecies about His death be for many or His/my people,
Isaiah 53:3d-6, 8, 11-12 "and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all….8 for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken….11 He...shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore...because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."
The prophet associates with the elect 3d-6 and God's view towards the elect 8, 11-12, the crucifixion was for His people, did not justify all men, because He bore the sins of many. Matthew 1:21 “She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” There are some that say that this is about the Jews, Jesus called His people His flock John 10:16 "And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd." Both Jew and Gentile will be one flock, His people He will save, not might be saved, as in John 3:17.

It was passive-aggressive. Wasn't it you who was castigating Osteen, and when he jumped it, you ripped him up the back for doing what you was doing?
What did the mods say that caused P4T to say they hate the gospel?
And I was referring to calling me a sidekick. That was rude and unnecessary.

And yeah that's a rebuke and I would talk to my father that way.
As I state over and over again. The manner in which you strive to teach, matters.
I don't seem to teach anyone anything. I seek to remind them what I hope God has told them in the Bible: the difference between heavenly wisdom and earthly wisdom.
If you want to teach you speak with love and impartiality, otherwise it's just clanging cymbals.
All you "friend" is is clanging cymbals when he starts getting angry or thinks someone disagrees with him. Even when they are just asking for clarification he attacks.

He had an Osteen burning thread. Mine was to research Kenneth Hagin and find out what one of the people who posted on his thread believed. Turns out he thinks Osteen is a false prophet too. No one could hear over p4t telling everyone,they were evil herectics and wolves attacking his "ministry"

I think Osteen is a false teacher. I don't consider him a prophet, as prophets don't exist in today's economy.

He's not a false prophet. False profit? Absolutely. False prophet? Not so much...
If prophets do not exist today, thats why anybody who says he is a prophet is a false one... is it not so?
Prophets could speak to God, to tell of future events, &c. Look at the OT prophets. Are there any ppl alive today that can do what they did? I'd say no.
Thats why to call them "false", logically...
I would call them false teachers, as teachers are still given to churches by God. But I would never call anyone a prophet, or even false prophet.
But that's just me.
