Can Believers be possessed by demons

I am ill with cancer. Some friends believe the cancer is caused by being possessed by demons. So they are trying to remove the demons from me through deliverance which is very intense. I know satan is constantly against us. Maybe demons can afflict you. But if the Holy Spirit lives in you, can a demon possess you and need to be cast OUT or only away. How do I know if the cancer is part of G-d's will in my life and He is allowing it? How do I know it not just because we live in a fallen world where there is disease. Did sin cause my cancer? Advice?

A Christian cannot be possessed by the devil for if they resist the devil he will flee from them.

If God dwells in you and is active in your life because you are saved the devil cannot also dwell there for good cannot dwell with evil.

If the fallen angels were kicked out of heaven because they were rebellious then if a person is led by the Spirit then a fallen angel cannot dwell there and Jesus said the kingdom of God is within you, and the kingdom of God has no fallen angels.

God gives us power to overcome sin, love, and a sound mind, which we might have a physical ailment but we will have a sound mind for with the mind we serve God.

Which Paul was given a thorn in flesh so he would not get arrogant, and think he was something special when the glory goes to God, so Paul said he will glory in his infirmities for that is when he is strong.

But you are not on the level of Paul in the revelations he had but it goes to show that God can allow an illness to affect someone if there is a purpose for it.

God could allow a person to get sick to heal them and show His glory that he can heal, or to keep them humble.

Like a man that is in a wheelchair that has a problem lusting after women if he got healed he might be chasing after women, and frequenting the bar, and God knows the hearts.

Also hypocrisy in a Christian can cause God to not work in their life, and they could get an ailment, like Israel when they were rebellious God was not working in their life as much, and they were taken captive by their enemies.

10 years after God found me, saved me, granted me outward and inward repentance, gave me His Holy Spirit
(not Pentecostal), forgave me my sin, made me a new creature in Christ, gave me His peace,
God allowed me also to get cancer & major surgery.

Possessed - no. If you are a Christian, you have been bought with a price - the blood of Christ. The reasoning is that demons can only possess one who does not have the Holy Spirit (i.e. non-Christians). Demon-afflicted - I believe so. I know people who I believe and trust are Christians who hear voices, which I presume to be demons.

I doubt the cancer is caused directly by demons - more like by the poisons of man (e.g. vaccines). Ivermectin paste (1.87%) is said to be helpful with some cancers, although I'm not sure about leukemia, and I'm certainly no doctor so have no first-hand knowledge of the success of ivermectin against cancer (or otherwise) myself.

Yes, I do believe so and why not if we as believers do the same sins as non-believers. Job was afflicted by Satan with boils with permission. The removal of multiple demons or living spirits from the man named Legion. Keep in mind that Yeshua spoke to these unclean spirits. They came from somewhere and most likely from the cause of sins.

First I do believe the demons or unclean spirits came from the Nephilim, dis-embodied spirits.

Second the reason they can enter are because of sins. Ignorance does not protect. As we live our lives we do many things that are displeasing to the Lord. Keeping in mind the Lord is slow to anger. Do we not lie, cheat, steal, ect. at times. Do we not have other gods such as Santa Claus who we make into a all-knowing god by telling our children he knows whether we are naughty or nice. And at tne most holy time of the year at Passover we hide eggs for our children thinking all these things are harmless. The taking of communion with leaven bread I consider the worse and by doing so we are saying the Lord's body was sinful.

I am not condemning anyone but giving you some food for thought

Its not what others say its what His word says. Gods kingdom is not divided He does not cannot do evil make someone sick to then heal. All sickness comes from Satan from the fall aka sin. Some times some sickness are because of some demon but not all. We live in a fallen world and we do we say we watch we eat at times anything we want. This life hits us all but what is written is what we hold on to look to KNOW not guess but know He already did it. Peter and John prayed for man and never once asked prayed to GOD OR JESUS for anything. See lay hands on the sick they shall recover is for every believer and Peter and John did what Christ said. After the man was healed they said we didn't do this by our own power but that name faith in that name healed this man.

So when I read by his strips you are healed then jump to the NT by His strips you were healed.. I never have to ask GOD pray to JESUS to heal me it is already done. That man Peter and John prayed for its written for a reason there in Acts he looked at them expecting to receive. He just got something far greater. So I would be prayed up.. making sure I repented of every sin and I would by the sweet holy Spirit take my right as Christ said over that sickness that cancer all the way to the roots and command it to be up rooted and die.

We as believers.. hmm maybe if you picture a car and stick a flag on it? Something that does not come with that car. A spirit can attach is self to us. A possessed person.. that house had nothing in it before. Where as we that believe in trust in Jesus Christ He can not will not share For all it is very simple to be set free. Anyone that calls on the name of the lord shall be delivered.

There is no sickness that is part of Gods will. Again a kingdom divided against its self will fall. So many are moved by looking around looking at others and then base their faith on that. When you do that you have taken our eyes of Christ. He said by His strips you were healed. Also said call on the elders and you will not maybe not hopefully but will be healed and if any sin it will be forgiven.

Its just so many are weak in the faith the do not exercise their faith so when something like say this comes up they have no faith to believe and then doubt. I know what its like to have such pain that kills and did not bow didn't give in to anything I saw or felt. I stood on His word I will not doubt no matter what I am feeling seeing hearing He can not lie. And anyone is free to pray and ask HIM if I am telling the truth. It left and never came back.. tries but I do not have to receive it. This a fallen world...I can't eat do say think anything I want and the enemy then has a right to come in so to speak.. to then expect GOD to Heal every time will not work. I must change.. must follow do His will.. HELLO... its His word.

So I can boldly say do not believe a word I say. You pray you seek you study you find IN HIS WORD what HE promised and no matter what anyone says no matter what you see feel hear you stand and done all STAND! Hold to your conflession which means much. HE LOVES FAITH! Faith is walking not by sight not by how you feel... walk in His word... walk by faith live by faith. Know this doubt will always STOP GOD...let not that man think he will get anything from God. So find what HE said remind Him and stand.. put this takes allot of prayer and a life living for Him...

My dear brother, my heart goes out to you in the many afflictions you have been enduring.

I will be praying for you that you may be healed. I will pray that until that time you will be given both strength to endure
as well as times of refreshing & relief for your body and soul.

I will also pray for those who are ministering to you in person- that they are given discernment. I will pray that YHVH will give
them eyes to see and ears to hear the truth in this matter.
My own opinion is that you are not possesed by a demon/s. The burden you are carrying is heavy enough without the idea of
demon-possesion hanging over your head. You are a child of God indwelt by his Holy Spirit.

1 Cor 12:3 Therefore I want you to know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is cursed,” and no one can say, “
Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

I have been praying for Jewish believers both in Israel and in my own country because I know they encounter unique
difficulties in their walk with God. I pray too, for those Jews yet to know Yeshua as saviour. I am sure it is not God's will for
Gentile believers in the body of Christ to foster a hatred of Jews.

I just saw your post and I am thankful for your prayers and scripture references. Since the time I was saved, I lost everything from wealth to health to my possession and my family. Yet I would never exchange any of those things for my salvation. I have fought the good fight and run a long race. I feel little more purpose is left for me to suffer and languish all alone. I'm ready to reach the finish line. Yet I have a 19 year old son who depends upon me. He had autism as a child and I loved him and prayed over him and had therapists help him through it. I live to see him saved. He has given me permission to let go.. He knows and sees my suffering. Our hearts are tied together as Father and Son. I will never curse God for this affliction. I was such a good witness to the Jews because as a Jew I believed in Yeshua. No doubt satan has been attacking me since the day I asked Yeshua to be my Lord and Savior. I am so, so, weary and in so much pain. But so was Job and he never cursed God. I have asked God to rescue me and I try to be righteous. But all our deeds are like dirty rags. The Holy Spirit is God. Waaaay more powerful than any demon.

Of course a believer can be affected by demons.. but not possessed.

The thing is that at being given eternal life, a believer is indwelled by the Holy Spirit. And they are guaranteed a place a heaven. So all a demon could do is try to influence through sin. That is all.

Romans chapter 6 is key here. 'We who are dead to sin, how can we live any longer in sin?'

When someone is converted.. it is not like God is not personally with the person.. God indwells their very soul through the Holy Spirit.

Dark and light cannot abide together, a Christian cannot be demon possessed. Jobs story is a unique one, and no one on earth will ever experience it.

I'm sure this was said already here but I would also say no, a demon cannot take up residence in the temple of the Holy Spirit when the Holy Spirit is there in that Christian.
