Ecclesiastes 11:8-10(HCSB)

⁸However many years anyone may live,
let them enjoy them all.
But let them remember the days of darkness,
for there will be many.
Everything to come is meaningless.
⁹ You who are young, be happy while you are young,
and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.
Follow the ways of your heart
and whatever your eyes see,
but know that for all these things
God will bring you into judgment.
¹⁰ So then, banish anxiety from your heart
and cast off the troubles of your body,
for youth and vigor are meaningless

What is a NEST Commander?
Nuclear Engery Search Suport Team

"The Nuclear Emergency Support Team (NEST) is NNSA’s multi-mission nuclear emergency response capability that leverages the Department of Energy’s world-class scientists and technical experts to contend with the Nation’s most pressing radiological and nuclear challenges. NEST is the umbrella designation that encompasses all DOE/NNSA radiological and nuclear emergency response functions, some of which date back more than 60 years. These include all field-deployed and remote technical support to the Nation’s countering weapons of mass destruction (WMD) operations, including Preventive Nuclear and Radiological Detection (PNRD) and threat-based nuclear search; public health and safety missions, including radiological consequence management; and responses to U.S. nuclear weapon accidents and incidents. Additionally, NEST maintains operational capabilities that enable nuclear forensic analysis of nuclear material used in an improvised nuclear device or interdicted outside of regulatory control. NEST’s motto – “Scientifically Informed, Operationally Focused” – reflects the technical underpinning of its diverse operational missions. "

If you couldn’t be a Christian and smoke then no one could be a Christian. Every single person on this earth sins and sins repeatedly. You are saved the moment you accept Jesus as your saviour. God’s will for us as Christian’s is to have fruitful lives, that is why there are instructions in the Bible. But nowhere in the Bible does it say you can’t be saved because of your actions.

Well....
I do like what you said....
But
Some actions or sins are not the same as smoking.
Especially ones involving moral turpitude. (Corrupting other people)

I will smoke a cigarette or two in social situations. I'm not a regular smoker. Can I be a Christian and be an occasional smoker. With all the Covid stuff, an occasional cigarette is relaxing.
Whether you sin or not doesn't make you a Christian or not a Christian ...

Many Christians have had porn addictions, alcoholic addictions, drug addictions, many have a temper many swear. Obviously I'll advise you not to smoke for obvious health reasons but stopping is hard but God knows your heart.

Chuckle!!! and another "Can I Be - if"- limit testing question - how much can I sin, and still "Make the cut"???.

As the old preacher said, a cigarette won't put you in hell, but it will make you smell like hell.

The question is: have you even been BORN AGAIN after being convicted of your SIN, repented, and placed your FAITH in the SIN OFFERING of Jesus to cleanse you of your SIN and have the Holy Spirit indwell you??? I.e. are you a Christian, or just a religious wannabee.

I was a Born Again Christian, and a dedicated smoker (3 packs a day) for several years, until finally with God's enablement I was finally able to quit for good 55years ago. I'm still a "Smoker", but I just didn't light up today.

I only smoke when my clothes catch fire :)
That actually happened to my Dad when his polyester pants caught fire when he turned his back to the grill.

My Dad had an amazing will power.
He gave up several vices after going through traumatic experiences. One of them was cigarettes. He wouldn't mind me sharing. He gave them up when my parents divorced.

It's strange but even vices like smoking can prevent major opportunities from coming to fruition.
I knew a lot of ladies who missed out on marrying a decent Christian man because they were smokers. All of them started smoking in high school. They could not give them up as adults. One parent liked a young man who taught his youngest child. His oldest daughter was in Puerto Rico and flew her in to ask the man to court his daughter. He got aquatinted and liked her personality. They were compatible and had enough in common to likely get married. She was pretty enough to be a serious model. The problem was that she smoked cigarettes. He decided that in spite of everything else, he could not marry her. He wasn't looking for perfection. He just didn't want to marry someone who's breath smelled like that.

I think it was Mark Twain that said, "Quitting smoking is easy. I've done it a thousand times."

D.L. Moody went to London to meet Spurgeon, whom he had admired from a distance and considered to be his professional mentor. However, when Spurgeon answered the door with a cigar in his mouth, Moody fell down the stairs in shock. “How could you, a man of God, smoke that?” protested the great American evangelist.
Spurgeon took the stogie out of his mouth and walked down the steps to where Moody was still standing in bewilderment. Putting his finger on Moody’s rather rotund stomach, he smiled and said, “The same way you, a man of God, could be that fat!

Smoking does not define you. It is not your identity. You are christian because Jesus loved you and you have accepted Him as your Lord and savior. You are saved by grace. I don't say that it's okay to smoke but I just want to say that Jesus has already set you free from that. He already paid the price. For me, smoking is a false comfort. The only way to feel relaxed and have peace is being in His presence. There is no condemnation in Jesus, "everything is permitted, but not everything is useful."
