No salvation is secured,for one can always backslide,and turn lukewarm because of the presure that is in the world.The seed that is fallen on thorny bushes.
We must stay on the straight and narrow,to keep our salvation.Only God knows who will.

cities had a "needle gate" (the little door in the gate) which was opened for travellers and merchants when the city gates were closed.
the door was tiny to keep invaders from rushing in.
if a traveller wanted in at night, he had to completely unload his camel's packs (his goods), and the camel had to enter in through the needle gate carrying NOTHING, and actually crawl through the gate on its KNEES!

haven't those who received the good seed into good soil (a crushed and contrite spirit) been those ones who KNEW they had nothing? that desired at all cost to enter in by that narrow gate? they knew they needed a saviour, but of critical importance (for those in the hearing of Jesus as He spoke this parable was WHO IS THAT SAVIOUR)?

i understand what you are saying though, about the tragedy of rejecting the Gospel (i see my own family do it), or hearing it but never turning, turning continually from the old ways (this is just another form of unbelief...for if we have received the engrafted word unto salvation, we ARE transformed by the Holy Spirit in us):
