Can someone lose their salvation?

Holy Spirit needs to be 'permitted.'

I don't make these things up, it's in His Word.

Maybe you care to post Hebrews 6:3 .

Grace is God's Son, I am not 'trashing' grace, just pointing out that we are SAVED by the active act of faith, not by grace.

You think about that last bit. Believing in Christ takes faith, and, faith is from the eternally important reception of the given and permitted entering in by God of His Holy Spirit. :)

And, no, again, why keep saying I have a 'works' based salvation, I follow the Spirit and in His grand plan , per Ephesians 2:10, we will do good works. It's a given of why we do works, not a reason why we are saved :)

Just like grace, which is NOT the 'free gift of God,' this is SALVATION. AND, it's attained by a belief in Christ followed by intent following of His Word, which can ONLY be done by asking God for reception of His Holy Spirit so we CAN understand His great Truths in Scripture :)

Note: eg, your verses, Rom. , Ephesians picked, BEG for sinew and flesh for their full receptive meaning , which requires one to go to Acts, read it ALL, and, also verses like Hebrews 6:3 :)

Yes, mari, this IS the gospel , hmm, part of it, it is going into all the world, like on c.c. and telling the nations of Christ and baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

The only way I know you can lose your salvation or have a unforgiveable sin is if you blasphem the Holy spirit.

Mark 3:29
But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin."

So ALL other sins are forgiveable :) So be encouraged!
 
It is IMPOSSIBLE to have once tasted the heavenly gift and then wilfully sin. How can I, knowing that all will be saved, fall back from the faith once given to the saints?

You must be baptized (crucify the old man) in order to receive the Holy Spirit. This is the true symbol of repentance and remission of sins.

For this reason, blessed be the dead which die in the Lord.

That's why.

Salvation is not attained. Its given. Its a gift. Obedience is given, its a gift. All the things you think are required of the believer in order to "attain" salvation are gifts.

The only requirement of a believer is that they cry out to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The Lord takes care of the rest, forever. We just need to remind ourselves from time to time that we are constantly in this state of needing His Help. Sometimes we think we must attain things.

Blasphemy = denying the Holy Spirit .

Read Hebrews 6: 4-6


Is it blasphemy then to say you are a filthy rags man after having been CLEANSED by the blood and are gone of old self and of Christ, newly made, as Scripture tells us ?

The Holy Spirit wil not stay in one who sins, doesn't Scripture state. Being covered by the blood we, indeed, are, but, when we willfully sin their is no longer a covering (of His blood), Scripture says too.

Mari, like I told, eg, your chosen verses of the Holy Spirit are needing action, or, permission to happen. Receiving something requires someone having first given you something. Acts , think it's chapter 9, explains God's timing for the Holy Spirit. 'As of yet the Holy Spirit had not been given,' I think are the words of the verse. Read Acts :)

Could you just simply say when The Holy Spirit becomes involved in the salvation of a lost sinner, and what He does?

Why then even waste the precious moments of one's life on something, which in the end, would not be able to save you anymore than not having it in the first place.

If all will be saved in the end with or without faith, then why even worry about falling back from the faith delivered to the saints? This is such a condratiction that it speaks for itself.

Salvation is your choice. 'Attained' is not the right word.

Rewards in heaven are attained. Mansions will be different , it's not a Little League baseball game championship, and, by doing piddly to glorify God you will get the SAME TROPHY. NOPE. :)

EXACTLY! If you flirted with the idea of all being saved one day, what would change in your life? Would you go on a killing or a raping spree? I don't believe so. You then ESTABLISH the law, not out of fear like the babies in Christ do here. They think carnally still. But out of love and a clean conscience because you are perfect in love.

Me: The Lord leads us, through His Spirit He convicts the lost, all of us, me, you, everybody, but Christ says 'You follow Me' to Peter for good reason in John 21:22., 'Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men', 'Take up your cross and follow Me.' :) Wow! Fishers of men :)

We must choose to believe, this does require faith, because, at this point God's grace is only known by words of Christ having died on the cross. This is DEAD, just a BELIEF in God, like the demons even BELIEVE IN GOD, Mari . But, yes, once you believe, and, ask to receive His Spirit, oh, my, milady, that iscwhen your belief gets wings, flies, high above the sky, when you faith-fully believe you will put your fate in the hands of God and NOT deny/leave Him no matter WHAT comes your way.

You will.realize our decisions have consequences but trusting in Him , through faith, understanding of His grace and great mercy, we wil Live, mari, for THIS IS LIFE, AND, NOT JUST LIFE BUT LIFE ON HEAVEN AND EARTH FOREVERMORE FOLLOWING HIM :)

What rewards will be attained that haven't been freely given?


Everything we think we have "attained" comes directly from the grace and mercy of God.

Good luck with your trophy, Green. I'll be down here in Little League if you ever want to visit.

Why are you so fearful?

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. - Philippians 4:6

"These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world." - John 16:33

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. - John 5:24

Do you believe and trust (pistis) what Jesus has said?

I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life. - John 6:47

Is Jesus actually telling the truth? Can He be trusted?

Fear of God IS is the beginning of knowledge.

We are to fear NOT obeying God, His Helper Christ gave to lead us MUST be followed , contentedly . That's ALL.

THAT is done by abiding in Him, worshiping Him, in Spirit and in Truth. Spirit is first, He teaches you ALL Truth :)

Could you show where it says we are to follow the Spirit somewhere?
Where is He going?
Where is He now?
How does He indicate where He is so we might follow?

You say He is first, He teaches all truth, and that is so.
But what is the very first thing He teaches a lost sinner who is dead in trespasses and sins with God's wrath abiding on him?

Read Bruce Wilkinson's book: A Life God rewards.

Sure, rewards are freely given by God, I agree. :)

But what is your definition of 'free' if Christ's sacrifice was an ultimate price to pay to save us, it wasn't some Little League baseball game win or lose sacrifice, it was horrible, torturous, unimaginable DEATH of a sinless man , the only man ever to go his entire life on earth without ever sinning.

Again, the 'grace' gospel you're preaching is not of faith in letting His Spirit TRULY lead your life. :(

Ok, so what, you , I get no rewards, I'm fine with that, I'm STILL going to follow His leading all my life, grampsK :)

No, Acts is not the same as it is for us.
The disciples had to wait in Jerusalem for the Power from on High.
The Spirit had not yet been given (poured out).

When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: - John 16:8

Were you convicted of your guilt in regard to sin?
That the punishment was damnation?
How did this come to be?

By hearing the Law.

What did you think or say or do?

Were you convinced of the truth of Jesus Christ being given as a propitiation and substitution for your guilt and sin?
That the free gift was everlasting life though you don't deserve it?
How did this come to be?

By hearing the Gospel.

What did you think or say or do?

How did you come to hear the Gospel?

Who is at work in the world performing all that in the hearts of men?
What does He do when one has been drawn to the Cross and heard the proclamation...does He go away somewhere and intend for you to "follow" Him somewhere?
Where did He go?
Is it all up to you now?

Acts 2:37-38

How do you repent?

Galatians 2:16-19

16*Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

17*But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.

18*For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

19*For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.


Repentance is simply understanding that YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN YOUR WORST ENEMY. We are no better than Hitler! We understand this by the ONE sign given us to show that we are all alike. Truly death comes to us all, so by works of the law, NO FLESH IS JUSTIFIED.

You then become baptized or putting away ALL of the old man, becoming dead according to the law.

Now the bible says that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord.

The same bible states that NO ONE can call Jesus Lord but by the Holy Spirit.

Need I say more? Or will this continue?
