How does predestination cause anybody to forget God's gift? According to Paul's letter to the Ephesian church, predestination was granted to them by God:
(Eph 1:3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
(Eph 1:4) just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,
(Eph 1:5) having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
(Eph 1:6) to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
(Eph 1:7) In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
Predestination has nothing to do with God choosing some for Heaven and the others for Hell.

In the passage I quoted from Ephesians, Paul writes that Christians were predestined to adoption as sons of God. Are you saying that a person can go to heaven without being adopted into God's family, or that such adoption only concerns sanctification, or being conformed to the image of the Lord Jesus Christ?
If you notice carefully, those that are chosen are those 'in Christ'. They are not chosen to BE 'in Christ' but BECAUSE they are ALREADY 'in Christ', to be adopted, to be holy & blameless, to be conformed to the image of Christ. In other words, Election is CORPORATE. Not individual.
I certainly don't see election as corporate. in 2 John the apostle speaks of an elect individual:
(2Jn 1:13) The children of your elect sister greet you. Amen.
Paul in Romans writes of Rufus as elect:
(Rom 16:13) Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine.

Because Jesus is the Elect One, and because I am in union with Him, it could be said, I am 'elect'. But only 'Elect in the Son".
The Elect are those who are in Christ, the Elect One.
But Paul tells the Ephesians that they were elect/chosen before the foundation of the world, so long before tey could be said to be in Christ:

Yes t does. It occurred b4 anyone became a believer and is why some do become believers.
