That's twice in three years, the last time being June 2023. When I was growing up, this never happened. Seems that these fires are becoming a common thing these days.

They're already saying it's global warming. You didn't think they would pass up an opportunity like that, did you? They said the same thing about global cooling in the seventies. We didn't need fires back then. That was back when cities were clouded in smog from pollution. According to this article, these fires are caused by global warming.

I agree with the article this much, that the smoke is more dangerous than the fires. Most people who die in fires die from smoke inhalation, not the fire.

They're saying Saturday the smoke should end from a wind shift. But more could be on the way.

There's actually a sight with live cameras for most of the states affected. You can see the smoke through these cameras. Earth cam live, maybe.

As the smoke clears out, the temperatures go back up. It's amazing what a little bit of smoke sunblock can do to the temperatures. I don't know which is worse, the heat or the smoke.

The forest fires are causing global warming but you have to understand how global warming works and what weather does.
You have to look at the long view and monitor temperatures over a long period of time and work out the mean and average temperatures. Weather will be extreme in certain place because of geography, ocean currents, wind direction, longitude and latitude, forest cover, topography etc.
The impact of humans to change geography even if it's just changing your garden or altering the landscape or farming it can have a huge impact on the what the weather does (Dustbowls of America, anyone?)

My son is very good with statistical analysis, has studied the numbers (not as one in the field but someone who can understand the data) and is concerned as well.

We are also in a very strong El Nino year which is also causing a lot of problems.

Maybe global warming is a lot like having a chemical imbalance in the brain. In other words, it's suppose to fluctuate. Fluctuation doesn't necessarily mean the worlds ending or somethings wrong.

I can't help but remember the same arguments over global cooling in the seventies. They said all the same things. Does that mean we fixed things too much and now we have the opposite problem? If there's any truth to it, it will get buried in all the political agendas that need tragedy and chaos to help advance their cause. How much is natural fluctuation, and how much is the problem that it's being painted as.

BTW, just in case, my earlier comment about heat and smoke had nothing to do with global warming. It was a simple fact that the smoke was blocking the sun and temperatures did lower by about five to ten degrees. Now that the smoke is clearing up, the temperatures are heading back into the high eighties and possibly the nineties again. That's why I called it sun block.

this is not normal for Canada people were caught lighting up the fires, same for the big fires in California that razed homes, are they paid to do this, or is it climate change maniacs setting the fires to claim climate change is responsible? Normally lightening starts fires but the last fires in last year Quebec also were of criminal intents , they never said who or why. it's all very strange now there are huge fires in France and Spain also... criminals, negligence or lightning?

again they don't tell us who did this or why..... looks that they were paid to do this.....

I would look at who has the motive.

There have been everything from arson, HAARP and weather weapons for a long time. California was hit again last year following Lahaina Hawaii the previous.

Thank the Lord that He kindly created a bank of slow moving thundershowers that stretched all the way from northern Canada south to the extent of the the smoke! He did that the following day to cleanse the air of the smoke and knock down the fires. This was no small miracle. James 5
We should pray throughout the fire season for more rain where it's needed.

I don't know if the Canadian government is taking much of the exorbitant tax $ to control the forest fires, but that's another thing the people should demand of their public serpents/servants.

We've been lucky so far this year with smoke from CA. Some years is really bad.
Have a friend in PA that says he's up to two packs of Canada a day currently.

no, i checked for it back then, i wanted to know but they only said men were arrested in for forest and were the ones setting some of the fires, always the same, they catch people doing it but we never get the details. this year alone in Ontario and Quebec, we are over 4 times the normal and number of fires that is not possible we got a lot of rain in spring and early summer in many parts, quite abnormal.

Interesting. Maybe they don't want to start a panic by releasing the identities of those starting the fires. That's actually more concerning than who ever the identity of the people starting the fires could be. Or maybe that just means that they don't want to tip off the others involved that they're headed in their direction to make arrests. Who knows.
