If someone is a Christian then they are already in the army. Whether they have weak armor is another thing. I'm encouraging people to build up their amour and use the sword of the Spirit to do something for their generation. I appreciate the links though, especially the one that encourages apologetics. The enemy tries to get us at every turn. And unfortunately He has succeed in criminalizing the very thing that will make us stronger.

Huh? But the verse in your opening post said that the word of God is the Sword of the Spirit? Are you talking about when we pray the Scriptures?

And I agree with shekaniah. You can take up that sword, but if you don't know how to swing it...it won't do you any good. Likewise, some theologians know the Bible inside and out but they don't have the maturity to use the material they learned. They are ever hearing, but never understanding. They got the sword, but not the brestplate of righteousness. ie, they tell lies to people, or they harbor some other sin. Or they ignore parts of Scripture they don't like.

Some Christians are weak warriors because they never pick up their sword. You have to put on the ENTIRE armour to be a good solider of Christ. The sword alone won't help you win the battle. You need the shield for defense. But many Christains know their Bible, they know God promises to take care of them, but they don't have the faith (the shield) so they fall prey to attacks.

The verses you posed in the opening post are very good verses, and are worthy of meditation. Thank you for bringing them to the attention of Christian Chatters!
