I think you're making quite a leap by taking "spirit-filled" which a cessationist will use as well, and turning it into a continuationist-only term.

I'm not a particularly hard core cessationist, but I'm not sure I could be described as continuationist. I tend to be closer to the center.

So you're saying that "Spirit-filled" doesn't mean the same thing everywhere?

When I type these words into Google, spirit filled church definition, nearly all show this to be a church that's walking in the gifts of the Spirit. Many of them say charismatic.

A lot of those saying they are spirit filled are not saying they are Charismatic or that they have the gifts of tongues. My church says they are spirit filled,Faith Lutheran Church,Watertown,WI is listed as being spirit filled but they are NOT Charismatic. It was my sisters church,my brother in law is still a member there,I have been there a number of times,one of the people I worked with was a member there,not once did they claim anyone there spoke in tongues. Nor did the pastor ever claim they were Charismatic who happened to be a friend of my parents.

Additionally, some LCMS congregations are somewhat more tolerant of the charismatic movement than the WELS; some of the more prominent charismatic Lutheran congregations are members of the LCMS.[citation needed]

i assure you, the very structure of LCMS services FORBIDS 'today's charismatic' anything.

nobody is praying in tongues or giving prophecies.
if they are....they aren't in an LCMS service.
1Co 14 tells a different story. Regrettably, like papists, too many groups claiming to be churches order people to disobey Christ's Word.
Sad how some of today's "lutherans" do to charismatics what the papists did to the original lutherans. Anytime you follow the Bible you get in trouble, as happened with Luther. I was given to that at a brief time early on as a believer, long ago, but realized what I was doing and left it behind. What is of the Spirit furthers the gospel's reach and promotes love and compassion.
