I'm thinking just getting together to read the Word would be a good idea! It would definitely bring you closer.

Bible studies do count as a cheap date I suppose.

In all honestly though, it's healthy to get out and do things. The more unusual the activity, the better it can act as a bonding experience or something like that.

I figure a married couple has a lot of fun reminiscing about the time they went and did some crazy stunt while everybody else was stuck at home watching TV.

I've always heard you should "be careful" when doing Bible studies together and praying together. For some reason.

I've heard this too. Especially the praying together part.

Actually a man I really respected told me that once. He said that's when a woman starts giving over her heart and you shouldn't take it lightly at all. He was one of the best men in Christ I've ever known, so it's always stuck with me. He was called home way too soon so I can't ask him for more clarification now.

One on one prayer (serious prayer) is a pretty intimate situation, so I can see it. I mean, if you're really praying about something, then it would have involved discussing something that was really important to one or both of you - and that means you opened up quite a bit just to get to that point. There is a certain amount of spilling of beans that would have precipitated the situation already.

But like, grace or something, that seems harmless enough.

Although I guess I could see that, at the same time I don't really understand that. Isn't the point of a relationship to grow closer to Christ with one another, and share together?

Yes it would, it is very important that both people put God at center stage in their life. I just love this idea Molly:)

Yes you should be careful, but at the same time it is better to know whether the relationship would even work in the long run sooner rather than later. Granted it is healthy to have some differences because it challenges you and it causes you to point out something that the other person may not have even thought about. Plus many people say they are Christian and they read the bible every day and by doing this would be a good indicator whether they are being honest or not about it.

Cheap date idea:

Make a chin music video like Sir Edward Sheerchin here :D (Especially dedicated to Grace-Like-Rain lol. Yes, I had to bring it back!)

This song is on the radio right now!!

Epic timing...

(You ruined it again though. AGAIN.)

That's an odd one. Yes, it's an intimate activity, but it's emotionally and spiritually intimate, not physically intimate. That said, yes, appropriate boundaries are necessary to minimise hurt to both parties. I love the idea of studying the Bible together, but I haven't done it before. I've definitely prayed though.

I'm sorry, Grace. Here is a nicer video instead...

I know it does seem odd, and it's probably true that not everyone has the same experience with prayer, but I do think there is something about praying with your partner and even just hearing them pray that increases their level of attractiveness to you, and also increases your sense of closeness to them. When you start feeling that way, it can be surprisingly easy for that level of emotional and spiritual intimacy to eventually also involve the physical. This doesn't mean that a Christian couple should never pray together, though. They just need to know themselves and their weaknesses and whether or not it would be wise to walk toward deeper levels of spiritual and emotional intimacy where temptation could potentially be stronger.

WHY YOU DO THIS!

Okay, I now see where you're going with that line of thought. There is something seriously special and powerful about praying with and for each other. Definitely. And yes, it's probably not a wise first or second date activity.

One of the best dates I've been on was coffee and then walk around the city afterhours and look at merchandise through the window. Then we went to the park and sat on a picnic bench. And I think it's a good idea to do something simple because one of the things I'm attracted to is having fun regardless of what we do.

I also like the board game ideas I read from some other people :)
