I think i was too quiet and shy to do anything silly as a kid. I didn't dare do
anything wrong. I didn't want people to notice me.

But I do seem to make up for it now!

Like the other week I nearly spread milk on the toast, put the rubbish in the washing
machine and nearly put gravy granuals in the coffee. :o

So is it ok if we include middle aged silliness as well?

Our filtered water pitchers are right next to the creamer in the fridge. About once a month, John almost gets a mug of coffee made with creamer, instead of water.

I'd be embarrassed to admit this, but about once every three months, someone has to clean around the coffee maker and floor because we forgot to put the mug in in the coffeemaker. (One-cup coffeemaker, fortunately.)

Lynnie LaLaLand is still thriving well.

So, no. Let's not get into older silliness. lol

This is just about stories of us being a silly kid, I'm sure we have all done things that were strange looking back....

When I was a kid, I was terrified of monsters but only at night.

My room was upstairs next to the bathroom and when I had to go to the bathroom alone at night, I would lie in case the monsters could hear me

I would say things like "Oh I am soooooo glad the police officers who are visiting my house gave me this LASER GUN in case any stupid monster wanted to hurt me."

or talk about non existent family reunions taking place....

anyone here lie to something that didn't exist?

or do anything super strange that you can remember as a child?

(if you can, post a picture from the timeline of the story)

That's gotta be the funniest thing I've heard all week! Gotta love the police: protect, serve, and arm children with laser guns. :)

When I was a kid, my friend from Tennessee was visiting me and while he was at my house, we could of sworn we saw something large and dark in the woods (behind my house); We creatively called it "the black thing." One day we challenged it by calling it out and yelling insults in the early evening. Expecting a possible break in to the house later that night by this "thing", we fortified my bunk bed with blankets, put down bubble wrap to alert us of his presence and smuggled weapons under our blankets- it was about to go down! Unfortunately it never showed up, but, to be honest, I can't blame it.

I always knew bubble wrap was cool, but I had no idea that it could also be fashioned into The Ultimate Monster Trip Wire.

You get double, quadruple bonus points for this one... that was pretty doggone clever. ;)

Ha ha thanks. It's funny how much I actually remember. My friend and I had to search my basement for probly a good half-hour before we found any.

One of the problems I have writing children's books is I haven't been a kid in so long, I don't know how more modern kids deal with stuff like monsters in the woods. Thank you! I hope to use bubble wrap in one of my books someday. That was both creative and hilarious. LOL

Glad you found it funny :), I can't help but smile when I think back to it.

we have something large and black behind the house, and it is a bear. yesterday it showed up at noon (!), knocked down the bird feeders (again!), and when i chased it off and brought the feeders into the garage, it kept coming back for those seeds.
when it saw there was no hope, it stood in the trees behind the house for an hour looking glum. haha

i stood in the yard taking video with my phone while my daughter cowered behind me pulling be back. oh, i was about spitting nails!! my grandsons play back there. don't you think it would make a nice coat?

but, now i know about bubble wrap, so everything should be swell.
i'll also be sure to yell 'idiot head' next time it shows up. lol

Ellie chasing off bears AGAIN?!?! I thought we've been over this.....its very dangerous to take off and charge at a wild animal. Please tell me you were chasing off Winnie the Pooh :p

On a serious note I am thankful no one was hurt :)

The bears are ready for you next time --

And the rabbits will follow!

(Seriously! Be more careful. You're more valuable than a platinum, self-cleaning bird feeder. There is nothing in your yard more valuable than the people who go into it, including you.)
