The new testament of christ makes the old testament no longer in effect

for hew came forth to fulfill the Law and Prophets, to which the Law and Prophets testify that he did exactly this, and by this his death he brought forth a new Covenant
[h=3]Hebrews 9:15-17[/h]Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]15 [/SUP]And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. [SUP]16 [/SUP]For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

A new Priesthood and a new law.

[h=3]Hebrews 7:11-12[/h]Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]11 [/SUP]If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? [SUP]12 [/SUP]For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
Can't get much clearer than that can you?

I had to work my way to see this truth, and come to the end of the energy of my own flesh, waving my white flag, that said I give up, I can't do this. And that is when I heard Thank you from God, now I (God) can, and I went from flesh death to life in the Spirit of God trusting God to do in me what I became aware of that I could never do in self

You're blessed. 'I can't do this' is a real key... I've kind of experienced the same thing....

Do you think that a human person who has never heard anything of the written scripture, only told that God created him and Christ died for his sins, would know all about scripture without ever hearing or reading a word of scripture? We have a conscious, he would have some leadings, but you are saying that all scripture about it is useless? That cannot be, for God gave us scripture.

You say that you have no understanding of that sin leads to death. Or any understanding of the need to learn what God says of how the law of love is to be acted out. You need time on your knees before God, and time with His word.

RedTent. love you deeply Sister and by Faith in the finished work of Christ our redeemer, being the reconciler for us unto God, we are past from Flesh death to new life in the Spirit of God where sin is not even thought of, being too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! busy thanking and praising God for God's amazing Mercy. no time for sin. Just thinking about whether one sins or not brings on sin.
This is what God is trying to tell you, That this deep God's love is for you while you were yet a sinner Christ died for you
And made you Holy through his death, do you believe this?
Colossians 1:22 in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

So can you now enter his courts with thanksgiving and praises, being preoccupied in this that you are 24/7 walking in the Spirit of God on thankfulness, that God's light shines through you as it did through Moses, the veil removed. It is this type of Love that only comes from God not flesh ever.
Love you deeply Sister, deeply

Are you saying that Christ wiped out the Father? Or repeating scripture that Christ is the real blood and we are the real temple the OT is telling about? Is God the Father and His principles no longer in effect? Why do you think God gave us the thousands of years of preparation for the crucifixion of Christ? Do you actually think that you can declare that it was to no effect?

God spent thousands of years on us before Christ lived as a man, and scripture telling us about it. After Christ, God spent only a span of less than a 100 years telling us about that. How can you say the thousands of years are no longer in effect?

God took so long so the Devil would not understand what the redeemers job was, first the Devil got Cain to kill Able, thinking Able ,might be the redeemer that God predicted in Gen 3 was to come and crush his head. By the time the twelve tribes were set in place the Devil was very confused as to who was it to be. Then by the time Christ showed up, the Devil was convinced to have him killed and encouraged it, only to actually fall into Father's plan of salvation, proven by the resurrection after the death, and he took the keys from Satan and Satan thus Judged and condemned. John 16
Either one is of the flesh or of the Spirit of God, there is no in between, those that are being matured are by God born again in God, whether they act it or not. For God is Faithful to perform when we are not; being in unredeemed flesh that is here now on earth.

To deny all God is telling you because it was before Christ lived in the year 30, to say Moses is not to be listened to any more when Christ said he was, to not listen to any of the book of James, is letting the devil into the church. I understand that you think it is teaching to listen to love and the spirit of the law. We need you to tell of that. But to take it so far you deny scripture, deny the Father, deny the words our God gave Moses, is going so far you cancel out all the good you do.

And Moses said there is one that comes after it is he we are to listen to
John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
2 John 1:3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

Please mark me if I am wrong in your opinion. Jesus sent the Comforter, (the Holy Spirit) and Jesus taught us by that same Spirit. Now eternally gratefull has said that the law and the prophets in the Word of God that we have today, is for instruction, and I agree. Now, the question would be, is it possible to understand the truth by the Spirit of God without the Word of God. The way I see it, is that the Word came first, and then sent the Spirit. Do we ignore the Word and listen to the Spirit only, or do the two go hand in hand? John 1:1 (KJV) [SUP]1 [/SUP]In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Now God gave the Law to Moses and this verse says the "Word was God." Is that to be taken as past tense, and now today it's done away with? This might seem to be a loaded question, but I just want a more in-depth description on how you see it in detail. Thanks

  1. John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Does Oil and water mix? Neither does the Letter of the Law and Spirit of God? The letter of was to show us our need for Christ and Christ alone
The bible said so.. itself but they choose not to accept it, and it saddens my heart to see that

But we are told specifically by Jesus to do His Commandments...that is what we are commanded to do!...there is no way getting round it, He was very clear about it.

Very clear that none of us can be perfect n and of ourselves as the disciples saw this in Matt 19 and asked after they saw that rich man walk away very sad, not able to be perfect as no human being is able except the Christ, and Christ was born of the Virgin. So no other flesh can even tough perfection as Christ did for us.
They asked how then is it possible that any of us can enter heaven? Man it is impossible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UIs this clear enough to show us our need for Christ as our mediator. That without Christ no one is ever able to approach the throne of grace with confidence in our time of need. Which for me is 24/7
Just saying, and asking this what need was there ever for Christ to go to his death, since he was and is perfect? So it had to be for us all, yes? Therefore all that is left then is either to believe God or not, yes?

You're blessed. 'I can't do this' is a real key... I've kind of experienced the same thing....
Thanks and we all that believe are blessed, and all are in different growth stages, in knowing the one and only true God, yet no one is better than the other, from God's vantage point anyway
God is the blessing, that has blessed us all, just not all believe this yet and are busy working at keeping their salvation rather than rejoicing over never being able to lose it, thanks being to God
Romans 4:14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:

The bible said so.. itself but they choose not to accept it, and it saddens my heart to see that

Yet Josh God is Faithful so we are to be in prayer as in God to not only have accepted us, but all those that say they believe and not Judge them. Admonish watering and or planting, yet trusting God to give the increase. for the waterer and or planter is nothing.
Thanks

Jesus, was who the Word in the flesh, did teach by the Spirit.

The Law of sin says, "do not do this and do this" for your rightousness" - PHYSICAL

The Law of God says, "Love is my will". Man cannot please me physically. So a new Covenant was needed so that we could please Him spiritually.

Physically, it is not possible, as was taught us in the Old Covenant.

Spiritually, it is possible, as we are led by HIM and not our flesh.

Think about Nadab and Abihu. They didn't do what they weren't told to do, they did more than what they were instructed to do and they still died. See my thread concerning that. The law is designed so that sin is revealed and killed, or burned up, if you will. Romans 7:9 (KJV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP]For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

That was God's will all along. It is also for instruction in righteousness.

2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP]All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

You are right that it is not humanly possible to be righteous by the commandments in the law. That's the whole point. But to degrade the purpose behind the Word of truth isn't looked upon with respect by our Father in heaven. I really don't think that He likes that. I'm not saying that you are doing this, but we all need to start endorsing the Commandment of the law in it's purpose as God intended. We, myself included, need to minister about its truth, for the commandment and the law is holy and good.

Romans 7:12 (KJV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

It is sooooo sad ,none of you have a good grasp of the Holy Scriptures; you go from one wrong, extreme to the other wrong extreme, and never come to the central truth of the Bible on salvation. You can not seem to grasp the great truth that truth and grace is in the O.T. (as well as in the N.T.) came by Jesus Christ (because He is the eternal "Word", "Son" of the Father
), who speaks the grace and truth in both testaments, Moses did not do it, "My Father gave you the Bread" the eternal God has revealed His truth in the WHOLE BIBLE, not just the N.T.. You give the impression, that there is no grace and truth in the "LAW" of the O.T.. there has always been grace and truth, God has always saved By Grace, faith and works. Never by the "letter" of the law but by the Spirit. and the 'spirit" of the law, LOVE. Righteousness , personal holiness is absolutely required in both Testaments for salvation. Just read Psa. one.. all the psalms contrast the saved, the "righteous" and the lost, the "wicked". God, F> S> H.S.>, has always saved His "elect" the same way, bEFORE the CROSS, and after the CROSS: by His eternal covenant of Grace.! Salvation was never by works or faith, but by GRACE,( power and Mercy). Love to all, Hoffco, Ptr. Doug

A very important truth, is, The Death of Jesus ,on the cross, saved no one. It was only potential for salvation, not actual. When the Bible says, "we were crucified WITH Him" it does not mean we were with Him on the cross dying WITH Him. He was all alone on that cross, 2,000 yrs, ago. we were no there.! GOD"S "elect" were "IN CHRIST" before the world was made, we were "IN" Christ, before the cross and on the cross and after the cross, but we were not there on the cross.! I died "with Jesus" in the yr. 1961, when GOD, JESUS, applied His death work to me in my bedroom, on my knees , asking God to save me,.!! The "reconciliation" on the Cross is only potential for the whole world, but His death can not save us , until we accept it . Other wise, the whole world would ,already, be saved, and no one would go to Hell. Salvation of the "elect" is a Done deal, but is not really in us, until God ,by His POWER and MERCY gives it to us,by transferring us from darkness to His Kingdom of Light, His SON. We have POSITION salvation,in Heaven,IF, we are Born again of God on earth. The POSITIONAL and the POSSESSION salvation go hand and hand. We can not claim Col.1:21 "reconciliation" "RECONCILED" with out Col.1:13. "DELIVERED" , NO new birth= NO forgiveness.! Hoffco

If you read .very carefully, what I say, said, you will not assume any "free will", or "decisional regeneration", on, in my teaching,we must "receive Jesus' into our "heart"= life. But our "receiving " is only after God makes us alive by Grace(HIS power and Mercy). Please, keep in mind, The theme of the Bible is: God's eternal covenant of Grace. And grace is two fold: G.R.A.C.E. God's Recreation (regeneration) At Christ's Energizing. AND God's Riches At Christ's Expense . This is how God has always saved His "elect", from Adam and Eve on.! Love to all, Hoffco

We must keep in mind, why God gave us the Law: the purpose of the law was to show us what actions God will accept as good and righteous in His sight. Our actions are good ,righteous ,and accepted as righteous by God ,only as we obey His laws. and only those who obey will be saved. But this righteousness of ours is never perfect. ; there fore God's salvation is always by GRACE thru Faith and Works. Therefore the Sacrificial system was set up and Jesus came to die. No one has a right to alter God's plan. It is not "faith alone". Grace, faith and works. Love to all Hoffco

can i ask you a question brother, when you look at the law and look at the world( gentiles ) what do you see

Wisdom speaks Proverbially and the one who listens to Him shall walk a straight path.

The Word speaks the Father's essence when He preached Love.

The Father spoke what was the opposite of what Love is through commands. (oftentimes)

How can anyone know God's will if they brush aside what is known of God's nature which were revealed through percepts, statues, commands, even His casual words?

A wise man will listen to Wisdom and heed to His speech, seeing that in it, life is found.

i'm sorry let me rephrase the question and also add a scripture [h=3]Romans 2:14[/h]King James Version (KJV)

14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

now after reading that look at the law and look at the world, and tell me what you see

Well put and it is not the death that saves, rather the life, yet the death needed first, thanks
Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Yet all have the free will to either believe or not and God has called all, left us to either believe God or not. Otherwise if God did not call all, that would be unfair and man would have an excuse when the day of Judgment comes. This way no man has an excuse when that day comes. For all will know, and known their free will choice in believing God or not being without excuse.
To believe and receive truth from God or not believe and trust in self and other people like self.
No flesh and blood will ever please God. The only flesh and blood that ever pleased God was and is Christ. Therefore Christ is the way, truth and life in Father via the born again Spirit of God living in them by Faith (trust) in God. God doing this for the one's that decide to trust God period.
