Psalm 119 is His prayer in it's entirety is so important.
It is impossible that Psalm 119 is the prayer of the Messiah.
The psalmist describes himself as having sin.
In Christ is no sin.

Your position blasphemes Christ.

The church that discipled you is teaching false doctrine.

you are the one accusing the Person praying Psalm 119 of sin. He does not admit to any sin in Psalm 119 which happens to be 176 verses long and the longest chapter and Psalm in the Scriptures. He claims His obedience and innocence and blamelessness through the whole Psalm.

have you not even read Psalm 119

Oh, that my ways were directed
To keep Your statutes!
Then I would not be ashamed
(Psalm 119:5-6)

I went astray
(Psalm 119:67)
I have gone astray
(Psalm 119:176)

if He was a sinner which He is not, why does He love the law so much? Why did He ask over and over for life and to be raised because of His obedience and the promise of life in the law to Him. Was He delusional too? did He not understand that the penalty for breaking the law and being a sinner was death?

non sequitur.

do you love the law?
have you never sinned?

all have sinned
(Romans 3:23)

the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good
(Romans 7:12)
how is it that the apostle is "chief of sinners" ((1 Timothy 1:15)) yet the apostle loves the law ((1 Timothy 1:8))?

non sequitur -- it is already amply demonstrated that Psalm 119 is not the prayer of the Christ.

ya think He broke the law, such that He needed mercy, redemption & salvation?

because the psalmist did:

let Your mercies come also to me
(Psalm 119:41)

my soul faints for Your salvation
(Psalm 119:81)

save me
(Psalm 119:94)

my soul faints for Your salvation
(Psalm 119:123)

deal with Your servant according to Your mercy
(Psalm 119:124)

redeem me
(Psalm 119:134)

save me
(Psalm 119:146)
redeem me
(Psalm 119:154)

there is much more than this but this is more than enough for the point.

seriously have you not even read it?

look at it this way. once He gave His life and breathed His last breath on the cross He had completely obeyed and fulfilled the law and paid the price for our sins to save us. it is quite a predicament if you think about it. Then He had to trust and wait on His Father's promise in the law to raise Him again. Yes He had His Father's word in the Torah but He was also a Man and it had not been done before. It took some measure of faith to believe He would be raised. So it was quite the sacrifice when you think about it. He had to go through with it to fulfill the Scriptures and save us but it was not like He was looking forward to it as His prayer in the garden tells us. That is what Psalm 119 is all about. it is His most personal prayer to His Father to save Him from death and raise Him to life again according to the law and word and judgments and testimonies and promise of life to Him. Sorry you can't see it.

He is YHVH Himself. Zechariah 12:10
He raised Himself. John 10:18
He had no fear and no doubt; fear is doubt & doubt is sin. Romans 14:23, 1 John 4:18
He doesn't need 'faith' He is omniscient. Hebrews 4:13, 11:1

do you utterly reject His deity or is this that ridiculous modernist kenosis theory again?

if you do not believe that I AM,
you will die in your sins.
(John 8:24)
we can talk about John 17, love to, it's calculus -- but it's going to take a minute first.
background.

who do you say that He is?

If He was admitting to any sin He would have been asking for a Savior and mercy. He was asking for life over and over on the basis of His obedience to the law and statutes and precepts and judgments in the Torah. He did that in the entire Psalm, He was asking for life and to be raised again because He was innocent and blameless and the law Keeper by offering His life as a Sacrifice for our sins to save us. He even took an oath and promised to be obedient which required His death. What, do you think the Person praying Psalm 119 was an oath breaker and a promise breaker and a law breaker and a sinner and a fraud Who was asking for life in spite of His disobedience?

you should probably actually read Psalm 119, as previously mentioned.
the psalmist considers himself a sinner who has gone astray and needs mercy, redemption & salvation.

however Jesus Christ is THE RESURRECTION and THE LIFE and in Him is no sin.
He is God manifest in the flesh.
He has no fear, no doubt, no worry and needs no salvation or mercy.
He is perfect.

incompatible.
sorry that your sect bases its identity on an utterly untenable & trivially disproven premise.

but it's OK.
you can leave it.
they do not own you.

all those prayers were answered by raising Him from the dead for His obedience. He bore our punishments and accomplished our salvation through what He suffered. He took our sins on Himself as if they were His Own. He was cursed on the cross as the Scriptures tell us.

if i am drowning i don't need someone who is also drowning to save me.
they're likely to just kill me even faster with their flailing.

i need someone who can swim without aid; who is in no danger of drowning whatsoever

someone who can walk on water would be ideal

the psalmist confesses and repents of sin.
Christ has no sin.

He gave Himself to be crucified because He is The Paschal Lamb.
the spotless, unblemished lamb -- also the high priest.

He put His own blood on the altar so that it is seen, and we are passed over.
this is not the narrative of the speaker of psalm 119.
