Only Luchessi can reach between these two worlds.

In the 11 years that I have been on this site the dynamic has remained the same in which the vast majority of users utilize either chat or the forums, but very few use both.

I'm very new, but I started to use both. I guess each is good depending on my mood :)

I'm a Linux user so I'm not in chat because Adobe doesn't include Linux support for Adobe Air. Last I heard, CC chat was based on Adobe Air. And I am NOT putting my Windows computer online just for chat. My Windows box does not get online. Ever.

I could probably access it on my Android phone, but I'm a keyboard typer. Trying to chat in real time on a phone keyboard would be a constant stress for me.

Why does it need to be bridged?

The two mediums draw people with different interests. Chat room types tend to find the forums boring. Forum types tend to find the chats too busy.
Each wants something different. Why not leave it be and let people be content with what they've chosen?

Because if I have friends here and friends there, I want them to be friends with each other and be a BIG group of friends!

I mean um...
*Ahem...
No reason.

A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: And a man that hath many friends online must prove himself master of every chat system ever invented.

Believer out of character it seems. *thumbsdown*
Ah well. I have survived worse in my time.

Back when chat was available to anybody with a decent browser I would occasionally poke my nose in. It never was very interesting though.

And this is from a guy who grew up in IRC chatrooms. For a Lynx I'm quite a chat rat. But although I gave it many chances, CC chat never did snag my interest.
