Christians and Conspiracies

Several persons within the CCpopulations have a fascination with conspiracy theories, it my hope howeverthat there are no pre-occupations or obsessions about such matters. I have interests, and to an extent am educated,in criminology, sociology, and psychology, hence my leaning to conspiracies.Whilst conspiracy theorists challenge what we assume, or know, are the criminalelements in our normal societies, encouraging independent thinking, itis very important, especially as Christians, that those ideas donot remotely have a negative effect on our personal realities.

I define person reality as anormal perspective/ life and function in this world, which includes relationshipswith others, our employment, and college/ education studies, to namesome examples. In short if beliefs incorrupt governments and or large business interests have any unhealthy effecton your personal lives, I strongly encourage you to stay away from conspiratorial ideas. If you can however separate this from your normal life and have an enquiring mind, well that is a positive.

It is helpful to explain conspiracy theories from a sociological perspective. Whether through backgroundor politics, different persons, especially in positions of power, authority, orresponsibilities will have different perspectives or views on the world and thosecitizens belonging to it. I define ‘the world’ herein not in the Christiansense but in reference to matrix systems, e.g. hierarchies or levels of (largelyunregulated) power and controls, with particular regard to so-called Western democratic systems.

However, problems also occur at much lowerlevels of society for individuals and families. A non Christian medical doctorin the USA for example is more likely to be interested in making money frompatients than he is helping them. On the other hand, a person who defaults on a bank loan taken out to pay for his or her home (mortgage) is more likely to have less value to a banker than a personwho keeps up payments. This does not mean bankers etc are conspirators but itevidences that not all persons are valued or have the same worth but it is situation-specific. If, at a locallevel, doctors or bankers have different values for others, the likelihood isthose at the top will have even less values.

In the sociological regard, those participant conspirators simply put have either lost the value for people or never had it to begin. The average Christian, sociologically speaking, is not likely to believe people are capable of conspiracies such as 9/11, instead just believe whatgovernments or others tell them as factual. The problem is it challenges their social norm wherein the brain cannot psychologically accept it. In stead, the ideas of normality will prevail and the audience will likely view conspiracies with what ever so-called experts say is the truth. In my view, non-Christians are capable of anything including pretexts/false flag operations whilst adorning a democratic guise for the public.

Christians, of all people, should be able to believe that people are capable of conspiracies ... due to the knowledge of the reality of the workings of Satan... ( "Read your Bible much...???" )

All the while, not realizing that Satan has an enormous amount of control over the "experts"...

yep - happens all the time...

Most conspiracy theories are just that, but I believe some of them are legit, simply because Satan will do anything he can to seek out those he can then corrupt, kill and destroy.

i feel like Christians, of all people, shouldn't be obsessed with the wicked & deceitful doings of the world.

(yes i read the Bible a lot. not nearly enough, though. but more than i read the news and certainly more than i read conspiracy blogs.)

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
(Collosians 3:2)

Set your mind on things above is a bit like go through this world as a traveler. What is the actual context of this though ? Do you ignore injustice in the world and live like a hermit and worry about yourself and getting to the next life ?

you're right.

Our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ
(Philippians 3:20)

and Christ said to Pilate:
My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
(John 18:36)

i think there is a difference between having discernment & recognizing that the world & the kingdoms of men are corrupt, deceitful and focused on their own selfish ends, and spending all of your time illustrating that point, as though it weren't already clear.

i'm not accusing anyone of it, just saying it's a rabbit hole not necessarily constructive to jump into headlong. if you dig and dig and dig and find out that a rabbit once lived there, will you be surprised? will you be the better off, having finally found evidence of his fur & excrement and leftover carrots at the bottom of his hutch, once you've removed the hillside to expose it? could you have been assured of the same thing just by watching him go in and out of his door?

I guess there is a balance. I let people know the injustice. If the injustice is not corrected in this life then the consequence of it will be felt in the next.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

lol. but we have a big problem with the notion that for some odd reason some people "dig and dig" into rabbit holes for no apparent reason.

in reality:

though one might prefer to go through life never having to think about such things...they are forced on us.
once they are....there's the little matter of knowing what happened before mobilizing all hands on deck for mass murder and mayhem.

personally i'd rather be responsible for knowing what i may be assenting to; than either assenting to official narratives; or pretending the mass murder isn't happening - in my name; my country's name....or God forbid in the name of Jesus Christ.

So we should just sit back and trust God while individuals and corporations are conspiring to do all kinds of radical things, like setting of nuclear bombs where the radiation causes huge birth defects, or Monsanto is destroying the very food we eat? Or war is used as a program to put money in the pockets of cronies of the politicians?

As Christians, we not only need to be aware of conspiracies, because many of them are real, and affect the lives of people around the globe. I think this is a case of being too heavenly minded to be of any earthly good!

Jesus said to his disciples:

“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves." Matt. 10:16

That means finding out the truth and living it!

PS. a larger size of font would be greatly appreciated by the elderly in this forum, OP!

I believe we should know the real truth about our society, conspiracies & all. How else can you teach the prophecies of end times unless you can point to the current events evidence to support it? We in the US are surrounded by prophesy fulfillment, with the church's eyes shut wide open.

"obsessed" -- No, of course not. I agree 'whole-heartedly'.

"being 'awake and aware' of what Satan is doing in the world" -- Yes.

"gaining a better understanding of the [true] reality of the world we live in" -- Yes.

(yes i read the Bible a lot. not nearly enough, though. but more than i read the news and certainly more than i read conspiracy blogs.)
My "Read your Bible much...???" comment was intended to indicate that a "knowledge of the reality of the workings of Satan" may be obtained from the scriptures.

I believe that you are using this verse a bit out of context; nonetheless, there is an application for it -- I can agree that 'balance' and 'priority' are vitally important in the life of a Christian. However, this verse is not saying that we should isolate ourselves from knowledge - as it is talking more about our personal priorities with regard to living a 'spiritual' life rather than a 'worldly' one...

Within the 'spiritual' life exists a necessity for the Christian to be able to 'see' both God and Satan 'at work in the world'.

Disregarding either one is like "putting your head in the sand" ( with regard to the 'spiritual' life ) --- "apathetic willful ignorance and confusion"...

:)
