You are correct. And after what has happened today, those Christians should sue the Alberta government for violating their constitutional rights on no reasonable grounds whatsoever. These are Gestapo tactics in a free country. I trust that the Justice Centre will immediately file a lawsuit in the Supreme Court, and sue the government for several millions of dollars.
I live in Alberta, and I have sent a letter to each and every MLA to demand that Premier Jason Kenney resign immediately along with his Health Minister. Plus many other stipulations.
Am I the only one who sees a problem with these two Stories?

If this is "terrible persecution", what words will you have left when Christians, because they claim faith in Jesus Christ, are yanked from their homes, separated from their families, imprisoned, have their possessions seized, and face physical torture?
This is not aimed at Christians for being Christians. It is a violation of rights and freedoms, and should be addressed as such.

Persecution, like wealth, is relative.
Is blockading roads, arresting pastors, and setting up fencing, so that Saints can’t meet together and worship as instructed by Scripture, as bad as getting beheaded for your faith?
Of course not.
But relative to the freedom of assembly, religion, and speech has all enjoyed a year ago, I’d say it’s pretty horrific.
I also live in Alberta. It’s terrible to see what the government is doing to Christians, depriving them of their rights, but more importantly, of fellowship with other believers. Not that Jason Kenney would care, when he supports the Pope and everything that he stands for, how can he also support God? I pray that more pastors will have the guts to stand up for what’s right and open their churches!!! My church is open, and I am sooo thankful for them!
Not sure I agree with that. The main prosecutors of Pastor James Coates were openly sodomite and very opposed to God. Jason Kenney is said to be a Jesuit, which is an order created to destroy the true church of God. Perhaps you’d like to reconsider?
No, I would not. I made my case clearly and accurately. A fence around one church does not warrant the description, "terrible persecution".
But what about the arrest and imprisonment of Pastor James Coates? I suppose that for you that’s just a walk in the park.
Add to that the denial of SPEEDY JUSTICE. He had committed no crime but was treated as a criminal. The justice system should have prioritized his trial so that it was held in April. Instead they delayed it to May, then to July, and I believe they will keep fooling around until and unless JCCF brings a serious lawsuit (millions) against Kenney, Shandro, and Hinshaw. That should have happened the day after that offensive fence went up.
The government of Alberta knows that it has absolutely NO CASE. They had 14 months to come up with something but they could not (and will not). Lockdowns, masks, distancing, wiping surfaces, taking vaccines are all without merit, and without a solid scientific basis. Sweden without lockdowns did better than the USA. Florida without lockdowns did better than states with restrictions. Texas showed a drop in numbers after restrictions were removed. Indeed there is no such thing as an actual coronavirus! (I have posted a separate thread on that). What was found in 1,500 samples was Influenza A and Influenza B. And flu numbers dropped in the same proportion that COVID numbers increased.
Also the mortality rate in Canada is only about 400 deaths per 1,000,000 (one million) of the population (0.04%)! There was absolutely no call for COVID Tyranny. But all the politicians jumped at the chance to muzzle and control total populations on a whim.
If it helps...my reading of Dino's post made it pretty clear that he was being specific about THIS instance of persecution and wasn't addressing anything else except generally.
Well Dino should educate himself about this issue AND its broader implications.

Not a single Alberta MLA has responded to my letter asking for action by the MLA to oust Kenney and Shandro from government. They are unfit to govern.

Based on the article, it certainly appears to be gross misuse of police power at the very least.
Especially when the arrest of Pastor James Coates is being challenged in court right now. In fact I have sent this message to the Calgary Police Service:

Instead of standing up for the constitutional rights of Canadian citizens, you are doing exactly what the Nazis did to the Jews -- persecuting Christians for holding services. And the Public Health Act does not override the Constitution. In fact it is being challenged in court over the arrest of Pastor James Coates. And the government of Alberta cannot even produce any evidence to the court to support their unconstitutional rules and regulations. So much for the rule of law.
