What are some memorable things, good and not good, that have happened on a Christmas past wherever you were?
One of mine, my dad who was a savant at cooking, surprised us one year by putting cayenne pepper in the gravy. Usually his dishes were great but this experiment, not so much, lol.

when i was just 10 years old i went christmas shopping with my 12 year old brother. we had just spent 3 days washing walls and windows of our huge home. Our mother gave us 2 bucks to buy Christmas presents. I have 6 brothers altogether. we managed to buy all presents with the meagre amount. after shave for Dad, a handkerchief for one sibling, a a large spoon for Mum. (dont ask me why..😁)
then we went home and wrapped those presents.
Christmas Day was so special. all those gifts under the tree. I experienced the love of God for sure. By being raised in a big loving family.

In November of 2014,, I slipped on ice and landed on my back. I got sciatica in my back and left leg for a few months. In December of that year, I had to stay home on Christmas. NO ONE in my family had Christmas that year, because my brother got kicked by a horse Christmas morning, and broke his arm. So he, my SIL, parents and oldest sister all spent a good portion of the day at the ER with him..

It was fun being creative given a few dollars and being turned loose in Woolworth's back then. I could give friends candy bars for 5 cents each. One time at the candy bar machine, all the candy bars came out, so I stuffed them wherever I could, lol.

I've seen at least 3 Hallmark movies where they wished for snow and of course being a Hallmark movie, it started snowing, lol.

I hate to say it...but the first thing that comes to mind is the year my dad has to wear a feeding tube during Christmas. He was miserable. We had our family together and we were all as supportive and chipper as possible, but he just totally hated it.

Today for some reason was I think the first time I kinda had the feeling that the “Christmas” I missed and remembered was when we were all together. When daddy was alive and healthy, my older sister was home, and my mom had much less stress. And so did I... And the funny thing is that the first Christmas we were without daddy I didn’t have any of this, we were enjoying time with Jennifer and my brother in law that I couldn’t think of it....

But it does cause me to have more happy memories. My sister’s in-law’s kindness when we went to see them in New York way back in 2015, going to the Nutcracker with Jenn and Dave in California last year...good times.

Pardon my ramble. I guess with things it’s been kinda bitter sweet...
