I can see why people desire to combine Christianity with political laws.
To introduce Christian morals into the laws.

But I can see the dangers..

History is wonderful to help us see how it will work.

Learn from the past

Ask the question ....

Will it bring the worldly closer to God or ..
Will it bring the Godly closer to the world ?

If people are told that they must change in order to have money or not lose things. If the motivation is to gain worldly things or avoid punishment then it is the wrong motivation.

Our only motivation should be because we love God.

If I'm forced to go to church, I will go, but church will become a burden that I despise.

I'm all for helping the world to become more Christ like. To Morally improve but it needs to be the holy Spirit in each heart not the laws of man.

Another seer, given to see from Father and Son for them too, Thank you Father
As I see, it seems many go through under Law first to see their own deserved death as well
Thank you fro seeing this truth from Father and Son as Won (One) for you too
Romans 2:1-4
I am accountable for me, not anyone else, I am given love and mercy to share and do that automatically from God working that out though me
learning new daily in this continued love form God through Son to us all
1 John 2:1-27

What I find really hilarious are all the Christian nationalist preachers and "prophets" who think the Donald is the guy who can give them what they want. They're so seriously deluded they can't see that Donald is only looking out for himself and telling people what they want to here. Pay attention to what he does, not what he says.

If the US really did repent and turn to Lord with sincerity, I'd be the first one to say Hallelujah! But what we have right now are a bunch of con artists and opportunists playing an angle.

Trust

Matthew 10:16-20

Authorized (King James) Version

16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. 17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; 18 and ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. 19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. 20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

There's a huge difference between having moral laws (which makes perfect sense), and government coerced religion; to be conflating those things is highly disingenuous.

Christianity was not designed by God as a political ideology and therefore should not be employed as such. Sin is a universal human problem that cannot be legislated away, and Christian faith is a spiritual condition that cannot be legislated into existence.

What can and should be done is the enactment of righteous law that restricts and discourages sin while protecting people from evil and misguided people. The Christian faith (rooted firmly in all of Scripture, not just the commandments) should inform the development of such law. It should also protect the choice of people to worship God… or not.

The will of the people is fickle and therefore should not be able to change these fundamental principles but their input on the process of government should be welcomed.

No nation will ever repent and turn to the Lord. Unfortunately the truth will always be a minority view. Thats what the Bible teaches. Will Jesus find faith when He returns?

To bring back those things that are pleasing to God is the first step in restoring what was lost.
Bringing God back into schools , public displays, and in speech is a step in returning to what once was.
Those that are committed in doing so should be encouraged and not considered poliitcal self agenda .
Remembering that it was the cry in the wilderness and not on the temple steps that got the people's attention.
What gain we will have is not yet known but know this
Little is much when God is in it.

The history I was referring to was the dark ages.

The Catholic power was the civil power. What the pope said was law and as a result millions and millions were killed because they did not obey the popes (catholic teachings).
Most do not see this happening again but powerful people have said that the people today are easily influenced.

The laws can be sugar coated and sound good for humanity, but the minority, small groups that want to worship God the way their conscience tells them will be persecuted.

The 1st American ammendment should be followed. If regions laws which don't affect the safety of others are enforced by civil powers we will be breaking the first ammendment.

Sorry didn't know you were referring to this era. But aren't these dark ages 🤔
To impose a belief by violence and threat is hardly biblical as we well know so I look at this era as a idealism which goes back to the works mentality of a misguided but agenda driven false religion.
If we really break down the laws which protect people's rights to worship and so fourth I think you will find that born again believers dont qualify for any rights. By definition we are not a religion. We express relationship. Our beliefs in scripture as in you enter in by faith and grace have no religious man made rite of passage sorta speak.

How long did their repentance last?

Christian nationalism STILL has no influence in my neck of the woods.

Is the antichrist still worried that it might? Ask him next time you see him.

God doesn't talk about Christian nationalism or promote it in any way. He doesn't need it because He has everything under control.

Some children especially teenagers will come to despise Church because their parents made them go to Church.

The Roman Catholic Church when persecuting people that were not Christian many would only confess to save their skin.

The world will follow the world.

Back in the 1950's when Church was popular and many people said they believed did they really believe or were they going along with the crowd.

Because look at it now.

And it is strange how they turned so fast when the 1960's counter culture movement happened.

But anytime society has a chance to exalt themselves they will do it.

Which they were exalting themselves rebelling against authority with the attitude do your own thing, and have your own way.

And the country slipped in to higher selfishness, greediness, and self exaltation.

Just like Israel in the truth, out of the truth, back and forth.

For that is human nature that they will start out we will promote goodness but then years later they will be back at straying.

But when it gets too chaotic they will say we will start afresh and be good.

But then they will go back to straying.

And when the antichrist starts working in the world they will say we will be good and get along with each other.

But then they will go to persecuting everyone that opposes their new system that exalts people.

Christians have been trying to make Politicians moralize the Public for years. Remember the Big Question the "Evangelicals" used to ask every Presidential Candidate? Are You against Abortion? Like the President has any say in it. Ill hand it to Trump, in his first term he let Christians know that the solution to Abortion lies with the States. Sure, The Fed finally did something that States could follow, but the power to end or continue Abortion is up to each individual State where Christians Live and Vote. OOPS
On the subject of the US Repenting Ill say this. Groups dont repent, individuals do. Mankind is infected with Sin and each individual dies from it no matter who you are. The Bible has already told us that Mankind as a whole wont repent and will get 7 years of Wrath, because thats what sin does. So I gave up on the world getting better as it just gets worse. Morality is not Lack of Sin, Righteousness is. "None Are Righteous" not looking good folks. Just a thought.

Yes. Jesus said his Kingdom is not of this world and yet it can be soul-destroying to watch practices like mass abortion of the innocent being carried out in the country. Come Lord Jesus, come. God Bless You :)

I agree, but what I find interesting is conservatives have no problem trying to legislate abortion out of existence because it benefits them politically; but when it comes to protecting already-born children from gun violence they can't do anything. Their "pro life" position seems to only have relevance when it's politically convenient.

Hello Resident. What you say may well be right. But realistically in politics sometimes I think it's the choice between the lesser of two evils. Believers can weight up the two choices and see which aligns better with Biblical Values, or indeed as many Christian do abstain, because both choices are insurmountable evil. In the example that you gave of conservatives legislating against abortion, that would be good IMHO and I would vote for them. 'Conservatives' in this country are whole heartedly in support of abortion so I cannot vote for them and Britain is meant to be a 'Christian' nation. God Bless You :)

We have men's laws that we have to obey and we have GODS laws.

We HAVE to obey GODS laws to please him.

With men's laws we can pick our roads.

For instance some states marijuana is legal, can we use it?

Just becaue it's legal doen't mean we have to use it, so we chose.

Put GOD and HIS word first in our life PERIOD as we know that Satan runs this earth and most people in it.
