The presbeteryan (i know I spelled that wrong) church is making gay marriage "christian"!!! :-C what are your thoughts on this?? http://abc7chicago.com/religion/presbyterian-church-approves-gay-marriage-in-constitution/562775/

The Presbyterian denomination is dying. This is just one more nail in the coffin.

I'm not surprised PC/USA has done this. They've been ordaining openly gay pastors and bishops for years, and last year had told member churches they could perform gay marriages in the local church sanctuary. There's a church just across the Kansas state line from me, in Overland Park, where part of the membership is suing another part because the conservatives in the church want to move to the PCA or ECO, Presbyterian denominations more in line with the majority of the membership's views.

PC/USA is claiming they own the church based on seed money they gave to the local congregation in 1978 when it began. However, that did nothing to build the current church building. That was done through local church giving, the names of the board of elders of the time are on the mortgage, and the bank considers the local membership, not the national church HQ, to be beholden to the bank.

This is nothing but an effort to force the LGBT agenda down the throats of a conservative church. That area of Kansas is quite conservative, including the courts. I pray the local congregation wins that fight, and strikes a blow against the kind of nonsense linked in your article.

As a regular attender of a Presbyterian church, I'd like to point out that there are multiple denominations of churches that call themselves Presbyterian. The specific denomination that has changed their constitution to allow for gay marriage is the Presbyterian Church U.S.A., or PC/USA for short. As Vigilant_Warrior mentioned, they have been ordaining gay pastors for awhile now. They also took the song "In Christ Alone" out of their songbook/hymnal because the song speaks about God's wrath. Many churches have left that denomination for denominations that are more faithful to the Bible in their practice, including the largest PC/USA church who ended up paying an $8 million fee so that they could keep their church building as they left the denomination.

A couple examples of Presbyterian denominations who are far less liberal and more in line with Scripture in their practice are the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) and the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). I personally am a member at a PCA church. And there are other Presbyterian denominations as well that do not view the Bible so liberally. Just so you know that if you ever walk into a Presbyterian church, it doesn't necessarily mean that it holds the beliefs reflected by the article in the OP :)

My thoughts:

1.) Gay marriage is in NO way christian. To try and make it so, simply makes a mockery of God and his law concerning marriage.

2.) Gay people have no business getting married. It goes against the nature of things.

3. The Presbyterian church is foolish to begin with. As Utah said, this is just one more nail in their casket..

4.) God created Adam and Eve..NOT Adam and Steve. Or Eve and Ellen..you get the point.. :/

They can declare it okay all they want but it's still not anymore okay than premarital sex. Speaking of that....they should declare it all okay....at least then they will be consistent.

Very detailed explanation of things.

Thanks.

It's not surprising, and not simply because it's coming from the Presbyterian denomination. We also have a Queen James Bible in print. This is culture's influence.

As tragic as this is, it's kinda exciting to see the prophecies of the Bible coming to life. This is all part of the great apostasy the Bible speaks of. I pray in Jesus name, that He would give us the courage to stand firm for His truth as the push for greater apostasies grows.

Apostates are no longer genuinely Christian even when they profess to still be. Can they still repent? The answer is in the question, of course, for if they can find it in themselves to repent and do so, then they will find forgiveness at the throne of grace instead of condemnation and the rod of judgment that waits for all true apostates.

Understand that scripture is clear (read 2 Thessalonians 2, for example) that a great religious falling away of professing Christians into apostasy referred to as a rebellion or revolt against the truth imparted by Jesus Christ and the apostles and maintained by the apostolic fathers and early church patriarchs will precede the appearance of the "son of perdition" or the anti-Christ in the last days.

1Timothy 4:1-2 predicted this. (The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.)

The church, any church, cannot rewrite God's word. They are heretics and apostates when they do. Bringing the congregation that remain loyal in the pews down the fallen road.

Rather than teaching repentance this group voted to approve the sin God calls an abomination.

what is a queen james bible?
A gay perversion of the Christian Bible. The perverse title plays off the non-credible rumor that King James was known as "Queen" James because he was gay.
Look on any search engine you'll see Queen James Bible on at least one search engine results in over 3 million results.

A translation of sorts. The purpose of it was to adjust what some felt were misnomers in interpretation that spoke against homosexuality, specifically. And like AngelFrog mentioned, they attribute the name to King James' (King James I) sexuality and base the translation off of the King James version.

The Queen James Bible - A Gay Bible
I was hoping no one would link that to this forum. It doesn't deserve to be carried here.

Why would someone make that? Don't people know it's a fake? Or do people take it as truth???
