so educate me...
I can not because I have not attended ALL churches.
In my 80 years I have attended many churches from coast to coast.
Many did a good job (in my opinion) of teaching Scripture correctly and how to use that teaching in our everyday life.
Some did not.
My point is to never base a conclusion on all churches based on just a few.
Each is different. Pray about it and keep looking until you find one that provides what you need.

Now imagine if churches taught the above instead of the typical sermons..

People --All Religions are man made -----and the Ministers of the Church have Bosses over them -----they do not have free reign to teach as they like ----most ministers have a lectionary to get their sermons from and Most ministers take the Scripture from the Lectionary as it is easier than relying on the Holy Spirit to direct them on what they should be preaching on if they even have the Holy Spirit in them in the first place ---they don't have to think about what scripture to preach on it is already there for therm to make up their Sermon -----Pick a scripture to suit yourself

example --read all yourselves --just posted this ----

Proper 25 (30) - October 27, 2024 - Job 42:1-6, 10-17 and Psalm 34:1-8, (19-22) - Jeremiah 31:7-9 and Psalm 126 - Hebrews 7:23-28 - Mark 10:46-52

All Saints Day - November 1, 2024 - Wisdom of Solomon 3:1-9 or Isaiah 25:6-9 and Psalm 24 - Revelation 21:1-6a - John 11:32-44

I attended a church where the Minister was told Flat by the hierarchy not to Preach on Money -----as they did not want to lose people in the pews ----and bringing up money will scare people ----

Here is a good one ---for Nov you can preach on ----

Revelation 21:1-6a ----well here it is ---soft preaching ---oh great ---we will get to live in the New Earth ---jesus will dwell with us -----no hard preaching to scar the people off so we get our money which we don't want preached about to keep the Church building open and help the poor ---

Make sure you leave out verse 8 -----which describes the Second death -----for the unbelieving --who rejected Jesus as they went through the 7 Year Tribulation -----don't Preach that ------

7 Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.

8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

The New Jerusalem, the Bride of the Lamb

A New Heaven and a New Earth
21 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”[a] for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.

I say
Hard preaching is very much needed today in Churches and Teaching NOT PREACHING on how True Christians can live a happy ---joyest ----healthy ---stress free burdened life is very much needed in today's wicked world ---- I totally agree with jacko on this -----

The Scripture is full of how to Avoid ----stress ----anxiety ----fear ---doubt ----false hope ----false prophets ----depression ----etc ---etc ----and this should be taught in all Churches today and it is NOT --

very sad ----Religions sugar coat scripture to keep their people happy and in the pews ----preaching has become ----People pleasing not God pleasing ------

I'm doing all of the legwork on my own. I wish there was an easier way, but sadly unless you are blessed to have a mentor, this journey is a long lonely one. THANK YOU Lord Jesus for the internet and ChatGPT for the wealth of information at my fingertips.

I am now 61 years old & cannot remember anyone that did me any good to call them a mentor.
My mentor is Jesus, the Head of the church.
Pray, ask for wisdom, knowledge, & understanding to make YOU a mentor to others around you.
Ask God for everything He has for you without allowing traditional teachings to persuade you away from them.
The Holy Spirit will keep you busy if you let Him totally in. :)
John 14:26
New American Standard Bible
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and remind you of all that I said to you.

1 John 2 26These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you. 27And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him remains in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you remain in Him.

You will learn much this way.

I think this is true. At least in my own life. It took a long time for me to understand and learn how a Christian is suppose to grow in Christ and become more like Him, being more obedient, and sinning less as you grow in Him. I actually learned from praying and begging God to help me because I never heard how in any of the churches I've been in. What I wanted is to hear the testimonies of people - leaders and congregants alike - of how they were able to overcome any habituals sins, how they grew to reflect Jesus, etc. - but I would only get testimonies of how they got saved at the beginning, never their journey to maturity after that.

I spent 30 years backsliding and caught up in sexual sins left over from childhood molestation. God delivered me this year. And it was from a lot of crying out.
