So when I left High School (worst 4 years of my life) I thought cliques were over with. However I found it still exist and sadly it does in a lot of churches. I go to AG Pentecostal Spanish Church and it's separated to lots of departments but the 3 big ones is Women, Men and Youth. The youth is where I experience this major problem. Many of the popular youth are favored for certain things. When we do youth elections, I've run for smaller positions but always lose to the "popular kids", not debating whether it was God's plan but I find it interesting. You can tell during any youth play, who gets the big roles and who gets the small roles. If someone comes back from vacation someone would get a "welcome back greeting" and another will get a homecoming like their more important. This also has affected the moral. In my church it's sad but there is no unity. 4-5 years ago we used to be tight and together now it seems everyone is in their groups, and the youth is crumbling. It's sad when I go to a youth service and I see how dry the services are.

Many of my favorite leaders who we adored who laid the foundation to bring us together, they left. One left to another church after her dad died. Our former president and the older sister I never had, she left when she got married and apparently left the church completely. She's the one who convinced me not to leave church since at that moment I was considering leaving (I never told her so God revealed it to her). There is a void and we never can fill it. I'm one of those people who felt alone all my life, but now the last few years I felt alone in church more than ever. I know, what you're going to say, with God I'm never alone. Yes and for that reason I never left serving him and always felt you're all I need. However many times I've considered leaving and switching churches, because I felt no love of God from my fellow youth when I'm there. I'ts sad. Everyone is in their groups, they talk and go on their way. I honestly don't belong to any of those. I long back for the days when the youth was tight and we all worshiped God and we all hung out and went on trips. Now we do none of that a group of us goes here another of us goes there. We never do anything together. The youth is dying and it'll be hard. We need an awakening I need to start praying for it because I miss the old days

I went through the same thing in my young adult group years ago. People stopped doing things together. The group slowly ended.

I don't know why churches can't have good fellowship anymore. The cliques ruin it.

The devil goes to church. Dont let it get to you all too much . Wherever you go you will see that no place with crowds is without sin.

Yup and it's also the neighboring churches having the same problems with youth as well. Alot of us got older so I guess people have different interests.

I completely agree but I always hoped that there was this barrier in church that the devil couldn't cross. But that's the danger of no unity

a church is full of humans, humans are sinners.. and you will not find a perfect church. just some may be a bit better than others..ya might wanna check out my blog series on ''how the enemy destroys the body of Christ from the inside-out'' in case your interested.its 4 parts

The 20's and 30's who are immature tend to still hold on tightly to the high school mindsets to bolster their social position with a social structure and uphold what is their prideful human nature which goes against God's word to esteem others better than yourself, for example.

I'm praying for you, young brother Socreta. May you be directed in your heart what to do, in Christ Jesus.

Hermano! Im also spanish A/G so i completely understand where you are coming from.

There is so much to say on this. Please give me a minute. Demi, you are so right. We go to church because we love God, yes, but we are still daily sinners. We need repentance and forgiveness on a daily basis. We need fellowship with a community of believers. People that come into churches need to feel welcome. Some churches are better than others at remembering this. No church is perfect, either. It's because the people going, running it, are human.... sinners.

I switch between two churches for a few reasons that won't aid this discussion as it has more to do with me than the churches. We need church because we are expected to grow. 1 Cor13:11: When I was a child, I spoke as a child. I understood as a child. I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things." It means we have to grow-up. Do we have to go to church to grow? That's an easy question with a not so easy answer. In the simple, yes, it helps very much. We need fellowship to grow. But, the more difficult answer is God uses many avenues for us to grow. Church is not the only way.

What are some of the other ways? Read and search through the Bible. God has presented many answers to me through it. Listen to Christian music. Praise God on A daily basis. Another is prayer, just have a conversation with God. But, in a true conversation, you need to listen as well as talk. Another way, is to pray for other people. Also, help those who God sends to you. You know who they are. God gives you a very strong impression through the Holy Spirit. Don't question it, just do it when he reveals his Will to you.

Personal for Socreta93. Be the change that you seek. That may be your purpose in that church. Do you see someone alone? Ask God to help you go up and welcome them. Do you have an idea for something fun? Suggest it. You don't have to be "top dog" to have good ideas to share. Pray that God will give you good friends that share your vision.

I am not an expert. I am not perfect, but I try to keep growing. I ask for prayers when I am weak. I make mistakes, but God loves me anyway. Just the way I am. I will pray that the Lord guides and directs you, Socreta93.
