We have two problems today. Ineffective Christian Churches, and too few practicing Christian Families. I'll add one more. We live in a very secular world. Sad, but true.

I had a child when I was 20 and I've never married. Believe me I know how this world is and it's not getting better. I also know that giving kids contraception doesn't matter when hormones are raging. When you're in the "heat of the moment" you sometimes don't stop and protect yourself. And in saying all that I'm I huge supporter for abstinence. I've been there and I'm dealing with the consequences. I love my child more than anything but it's not easy raising him alone.
 
Wow this is SO stupid. Seriously, why are people even considering the idea of giving condoms to children? Yes, 6th graders are children. So stupid...ugh. When I was in 6th grade I was afraid of the idea of even holding hands with a boy (and I still kind of am). Where are the parents!?
 
The seeds are being sown. The immoral, addicted, self-absorbed, anti-Christ fruit will blossom in about another ten to fifteen years and mark my words: it's going to be a bumper crop.

If they gave me condoms...in high school I woulda used them.

It was intimidating to go to the drug store in my small town where everyone knew one another. Get an anonymous condom at school?

Every boy that I grew up with (including myself) had a condom in his wallet (they were available at a local service station rest room). Most were like myself and never used them. That was a much different era. My three boy's are all over 45. I know that they did the same. When my oldest grandson was 18, his fell out while he was searching for his ID. Funny how he turned red faced from embarrassment. I laughed and told him that "I see times haven't changed since I was a boy". He and his bride made a commitment to abstinence when they began dating. My children were taught that God expected abstinence and that he expected that they be mature in their married relationship before they had children.

What will the seven children of a mother who sleeps with a different man every week learn, if the Church ignores them? They will follow in her footsteps. God expects us to break the cycle, not throw more children into it.

Live like God is coming within the hour. Work for him like it'll be another thousand years. The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
 
The truth is that most of these people do not attend genuine Christian assemblies that adhere to and teach God's Word. In fact, only 20% regularly attend church in the U.S. anymore.

And, when they do, they are trending toward attempting to change church to fit their ungodly beliefs rather than allowing themselves to be transformed to the truth.

More than half of the U.S. supports homosexual marriage with about three-quarters of Americans presently trending heavily away from the orthodox (e.g. genuine) exegesis of God's Word.

The church has diminished to the point that it's not going to break the cycle for the vast majority of them and, in fact, statistically the vast majority are trending the other way discarding God and His Word or twisting it past the point of authenticity.

BIG changes are on the horizon if the trends continue and they are not going to be good.

What you can do; however, is break the cycle for the few who are willing. A remnant of authentic genuine Christians properly living out God's Word will continue to the end of the age.

Unless there's a sweeping revival and reformation movement back to God and a truthful understanding of His Word in the U.S., there's going to be a harvest alright: it's just not going to be a godly harvest.

In the first century, Jesus looked out and saw the fields were ripe for harvest but the laborers were few. But what would he see today? Look around, in the U.S., the need is enormous but the harvest isn't willing and the laborers are few.

I was thinking about your comment. We look at the depravity of the US today, but wasn't the first century Roman Empire just as depraved? I would add that the few laborers are unwilling (or afraid) to work.
 
Yes, they certainly were. The difference was that their depravity was rooted in ignorance of the truth. This generation's depravity is rooted in rebellion against the truth.

Though God did intervene miraculously at times; and Christians had to pay a real price to get the job done: a large part of the resolution from 1 AD moving forward was through dispelling pagan ignorance with the preaching of the Gospel, teaching, disciplining, etc...

This generation, on the other hand, is in full rebellion against the Gospel, God, godly discipleship, sound exegesis, etc...

That's a very real difference that causes us to look back in time to find correlation and though we are in a new covenant period of history; it's in the Old Testament under the old covenant that God had with the ancient nation of Israel that we find correlation in their periods of rebellion.

Pfffffff, even the people back then rebelled when they knew the truth. It's been going on for centuries. Don't just pin the world's troubles on THIs generation. The only reason why it seems like it's more is because we hear about it on the news all the time...Nothing special..

Many generations in the past did not have access to the Bible, or good teaching.

This generation usually has a Bible in the home and with internet has access to every version and paraphrase available. Also with the internet they have access to sound biblical teaching anytime.

Alas, almost all have heard of Jesus but many choose not to follow because they don't want to be told not to do certain things, they don't feel the need for a Savior. As Age pointed out not because of lack of knowledge but because of rebellion.
 
I could understand handing them out in High School, but 6th. grade? Seriously? In 6th. grade I was playing war in the woods and building forts. No they don't need condoms that's not the answer. The answer is parents need to pay attention to what their kids are doing. Bottom line.
 
We were all children once. We most likely all fell victim at some stage or another to our hormones. BUT I personally think giving condoms to six graders is wrong, but necessary.

If you as a parent did your job according to how God requires, then you can rest peacefully that your job is done. You can not protect your children all the time. There comes a time "like when they are at school", that you need to trust the Heavenly Father to take care of them, to guide them in their decisions and choices.
 
Maybe Im the only one who can remember sixth grade but I know there were multiple discussions about how we would, if we could. I guess lucky for us we were in an international baccalaureate program school so we got bussed in from all over the county and no one really lived close enough to anyone to actually get it done.
 
That's not true at all. There are huge populations of people even in America that have never heard the name of Jesus!

In the sixth grade, my friends an I spent most of our time on chores, hunting, and fishing, along with swimming in a remote pond. We also had a community that was safe to walk through. I don't believe that condoms are the answer at any age. I also agree that parents need to take responsibility. My concern is what do we do with those children who don't have parents willing to take responsibility. What do we do with these children? Do we throw them to the wolves, let them become irresponsible parents, and populate another larger generation with children who have never experienced Christ, or do we take the Gospel to them? Only when they discover Christ, can we break the cycle.

I grew up in church. My grandparents gave me a New Testament that stayed in my pocket for years. I looked at it, but never really knew what it said until I was minutes away from suicide. I took the New Testament out of my pocket and opened it up. John 14:6 was underlined, and that one verse changed my life. My grandparents planted a seed that changed my life. If we find ways to reach other children and plant a seed, before they get to the point of no return, we have a chance.
