Yes, I do. We have righteous standing, but we are not righteous. The former is forensic and perfect, the latter is actual. We are being made perfectly righteous.

That's odd. I read those scriptures and it said nothing about confessing that to God, nor did it mention it pleased him when you confessed it to Him.
And I've been thru the bible some and I never remember it saying such a thing.
Strangely enough, I don't remember any place where it says God has to be reminded of anything either.
Perhaps you simply forgot the scripture where it did say to confess that to God, and/or to remind Him. Mind going back and finding it so we can read that part too? Thanks.

The scriptures were to show that God made us the righteousness of Christ because of faith in His work...the gospel...go read all the posts in this thread with scriptures on righteousness and that might help you as far as understanding righteousness and the believer.

Confessing just means to "say the same thing"....when we confess truth we are saying the same thing that God says ...like if we confess that Jesus is the Son of God , God abides in you 1 John 4:15

That is a great teaching ...I can see where people that believe in D.I.Y. self-righteousness/holiness will be offended by this but the gospel of the grace of Christ is a stumbling block and a rock of offense to these types of mindsets. The publican showed where the door is found - GOD have mercy on me a sinner. There is no other way. The one who exalts himself is trying to enter another way and will be humbled.

2 Peter 1:5 says that we are to add to our faith, excellence. This does not mean adding the knowledge of our excellence (which doesn't exist), but adding the understanding of the most excellent life that walks within the midst of our deadness.

We all have to find out what is required in THIS new covenant of Grace. Many Christians don't even know they are in a new covenant. Many believers are new covenant saints living under the old covenant of law trying to do what has ALREADY been done for them by Jesus Christ.

And because they are trying to live under an old covenant that has been done away with, they are not and can't do what is required to see God's blessings in their lives TODAY. So they are not seeing results in their Christian lives either and can't understand why.

Trying to do good works to gain favor and blessing from God is ignoring the New covenant of grace where Jesus Christ did all that is required. For salvation and redemption and sanctification. We believers are to work to rest in what Jesus did (and cease from our works to be good enough.)

When we believe CHRIST is our life, CHRIST is our redemption, CHRIST is our sanctification., we obey from the heart that new form of doctrine.... the new covenant because we honor the Son., And that pleases God. We magnify Jesus by having CONFIDENCE in HIS finished work. Now we can claim this righteous standing because we believe HE died on the cross for our sins--THIS is honoring God - having faith in Jesus and NOT our own righteousness because we have none apart from Christ.

THIS faith honors and pleases God. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Being confident of this very thing., He that has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Don't allow anyone to take away your confidence in Christ.

For God has not given us the spirit of fear but of POWER and LOVE and a SOUND MIND. Let the redeemed of the Lord SAY SO. Amen.

Here is a great scripture that tells us that our faith will become effective ( working ) when we "acknowledge" every good thing ( like righteousness, sanctification, wisdom, redemption..etc ) that is in us in Christ...

Yes, I am very sure. The righteousness that is given to us is the holy spirit. But we are not the holy spirit, and we only become righteous in actuality as we do righteous things by obeying the righteous spirit. So we are becoming the righteousness of GOD (as 2 Cor. 5:21 says) as we are conformed to his image through obedience; but we are in no way the righteousness of GOD.

The words put on mean to be clothed with.

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Galatians 3:27​

The righteousness that is given to us is the "righteousness of God" (Romans 3:22). We are made righteous through our faith in Jesus Christ. That new creation in us is righteous . . . that new creation in us is created in us through the new birth. True,God loves when we show the world His ways,which can only be done by the Spirit,and although our righteousness is as filthy rags,we do not boast of that,but we boast of righteousness from Christ,and He gets the glory,and we take the stand that the man Christ Jesus took,why call me good,for there is only one good,and that is God.

The Bible says the kingdom of God is within us,which would be by the Spirit,which God wants us to show the world His ways,so people will say God is in you of a truth,and turn to God,for that is the only way they can see God,is by our conduct,which God said if you show His ways,then in the day of their visitation they will turn to God.

The truth is Christianity is the standard of the world in morality,and goodness,and all that is wholesome,and pure,which if everybody followed Jesus' teachings,there would not be fighting in the world,not even in the least sense.

Since Christianity is the standard of the world,the more they slip in to hypocrisy,and not doing right,and loving people like they should,and are worldly,the more the world slips in to immorality,and the closer they get to the beast kingdom.

That is why one of the things it states that perilous times will come in the last days,is because they are lovers of pleasures,more than lovers of God,and are lukewarm,being neither hot or cold,and are ever learning and never able to come to the truth,that they have to show the righteousness of God,which they think they can behave wrongly and still be right with God.

It even becomes so bad,that the new age movement,with their interpretation of the Bible,that exalts people,and diminishes God,which they speak lies in hypocrisy,came out,in which will become so popular that eventually they will only want to hear that interpretation,which will happen during the first half of the tribulation when they have a unified religious system,which is the falling away,that prepare the way for the man of sin,and lead them to the beast kingdom.

So it appears as if the wrongful attitude of people claiming Christianity,and the Bible,has a big impact on the world,and the new age movement does not show the righteousness of God,but it is about them exalting themself.

Christianity is the standard of the world,and the more Christianity slips in to hypocrisy,and tolerates things that are not right going by the standards of the world,the more the world slips in to immorality,and the closer they get to the beast kingdom.

But that being said,although the world will slip,and there will be a falling away,God's word cannot be tampered with,and will still be there during the first half,but a lot of people will not want to hear it,because everybody's religion is valid at that time,except fundamental Christians,Muslims,and Jews,although they will tolerate what they believe,because they are trying to achieve peace on earth,as long as they do not try to convert someone,for then it will be a hate crime.

As long as the world fights over their religions,Christianity has a chance to save many people,but when the world says all religions are valid,Christianity will start losing their impact on the world,for every religion is valid,so they want you to get out of their face.

So we see how showing the righteousness of God,in Christ,is so very,very,important,and I pray the world would understand to stop judging Christianity on the hypocrisy,but Christianity is the same no matter how people act,and realize that only by following Jesus' teaching,and God's moral laws,is the only way to stop the fighting on earth.

I agree with this. The moment I stop trusting in Christ and what He's done and what He continues to do, I sin.

God saw all of your sins and placed them all on His Son 2000 years ago. You continue to deny the efficacy of Christ's one sacrifice. Which is to trample under foot the Son and to insult the Spirit of Grace. And since there is no longer any sacrifice for your sins......
