How could I conclude that when my confession is a denial of present sin in my life and confessing something that isn't true is a lie and mind control or brainwashing? I don't mean these things to you personally but this is the conclusion I come to.
When I think these things, it makes me blind to my sins and pushes out other thoughts like reality.

It looks like you have a wrong understanding of grace believers and confessing sins...here is an article that discusses all about that subject as obviously you have been mis-informed.

There are a few articles in this link. I use this website because it tackles the obscure scriptures and the mis-information about grace...sometimes the comments at the bottom of the articles are great too as people can ask questions..

A sin consciousness mindset will never make you walk into your righteousness position in Christ and therefore stop you from operating in faith or authority. Enjoy this short testimony by Graham Cook and how he learned that even when you have the spirit of stupid on you you still win!

Back in the day, doctors ordered tests so if I switched doctors, they didn't honor the tests that I had unless they did it. Why would that be? It was be cause they were trying to be as accurate as possible.

I am not concerned if you have to rehash what you have posted here because (1) there is low church attendance here or people are getting milk at some of their churches and (2) it requires someone to work and desire to look everything up and fact check it for assumptions, logical errors, hermeneutics errors, definition errors, etc. (3) There is a lack of credentialed people here defending the faith who have seen this error thousands of times. There is nothing new under the sun and this teaching wasn't practiced in the book of Acts because Paul rebuked Peter to his face and James came down with Jewish brethren to put us back under the law and everyone has heresies.

More times than not, it is the ones with novel doctrines that have the followers who get on t.v. but fewer the righteous ones.

Ephesians 1:13-14 (KJV)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

2 Corinthians 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest (G728 - arrabōn) of the Spirit in our hearts.

The full amount has not been subsequently been paid because it is future.

The earnest of the Spirit is an "ensample", a portion of the greater whole, because we have all been made to drink into "one Spirit"

The puritans say, "The error of free grace is known historically as Sandemanianism (after Robert Sandeman 1718-1771)." I'm wondering what the difference between Evangelicals and Puritans is...

You may find a brief treatment of this error by Lloyd-Jones in his book THE PURITANS pp. 170-190.

There is a much more thorough treatment in the Complete Works of Andrew Fuller Vol. 2 pp. 561-646

A brief summary may be read here:

I don't know, but do you know what the difference of Holy Spirit and holy Spirit is, as it pertains to the "spirit which is of God" (1 Cor 2:12) and the "spirit of holiness" (Romans 1:4), in regard to our position in the household of God when it comes to the doctrine of Romans 8 and resurrection?

1 Cor. 9:27 is correctly translated that Paul beats his body into subjection because g5299 hypōpiazō means to beat your body black and blue despite the other nature and despite the fact that many of us are broken transmitters that cannot hear from God. The fact is that the the flesh still wars against the spirit and for a lot of people, the flesh is winning.

That is not what I asked? but, I know 1 Cor 9:27. I have studied the words, terms and doctrines associated to it. "keeping under the body" this is where fear and treambling is exercised when examining yourself, but the castaway portion is clearly bringing imaginations and doctrines into subjection to the mind of Christ.

Good night.

2 Corinthians 13

[SUP]5 [/SUP]Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

[SUP]6 [/SUP]But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.

[SUP]7 [/SUP]Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.

Another thing, as the church that is His body, doing evil or being kept from evil- is not an equation of being evil, because scripture says that kind of wickedness if of men who are without faith, we have the faith of Christ as a possession, fruit & armor.

[SUP]3 [/SUP]But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

If you want to consider the new creation in Christ created in righteousness and holiness as "evil"......that's your choice. The scriptures say the exact opposite about the inner man of the heart now in Christ.

Sin is in the flesh now and not in the new creation in Christ. Rom 7:17-20

Until believers are given a new body, they have both Christ's and Adam's natures. False-grace believers are taught to only acknowledge the existence of Christ's nature, and deny that Adam's nature even exists anymore. This is essentially their view of grace, i.e., that grace is an entirely new nature without sin to worry about, thus there is no condemnation.

The way they accomplish this mind trick is through a dissociative process that considers the flesh and the body to be separate and distinct. In other words, mental separation is made between the flesh and the body, which allows for the belief that the flesh is evil and the body is sinless. The flesh, then, simply becomes an idea that is compartmentalized in the mind and discarded (ignored, denied) because it is the old man (Adam) that was crucified and no longer exists. This process of denying the existence of sinful flesh and identifying only with the incorruptible spirit and sinless body is what false-grace believers call the renewing of the mind.

This view that grace is a new nature is why false-grace believers hold that they shall be completely saved, not by means of their behavior, but because they are spiritual by nature. To them it is impossible that their spiritual nature (i.e., themselves) should ever be corrupted by sin, regardless of whatever sin they might practice. They all affirm that they can never in any way lose their spiritual nature, in spite of whatever sinful actions in which they may be involved.

We are still in a body of sin and the spirit we were given enough is an earnest or a down payment because the full payment we receive is when we are in heaven with a glorified body and not before.

Do you not recognize that Jesus Christ, the risen, living, holy and good, Lord God and Savior, is in you??

The "old man" died on the cross with Jesus..this is why people don't understand the difference between spirit which is the inner man of the heart......there is still the flesh left which has the power of sin in it.

If we don't "know" that the old man is dead...we will never understand the new creation in Christ..created in righteousness and holiness....then the natural mind cannot understand this spiritual principal....This is the problem with some.

Romans 6:5-8 (NASB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection,

[SUP]6[/SUP] knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;
[SUP]7 [/SUP] for he who has died is freed from sin.
[SUP]8 [/SUP] Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,

Galatians 2:20 (KJV)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

am crucified with Christ = perfect passive = a done deal ...an action done in the past with a result being continuously in the present

Now...for the flesh...read Romans 7:14-22.....

Romans 7:17-23 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] So now, no longer am I the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.
[SUP]18 [/SUP] For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.
[SUP]19 [/SUP] For the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want.
[SUP]20 [/SUP] But if I am doing the very thing I do not want, I am no longer the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.

[SUP]21 [/SUP] I find then the principle that evil is present in me, the one who wants to do good.
[SUP]22 [/SUP] For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man,
[SUP]23 [/SUP] but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members.

Now we walk according to the Spirit so we will not fulfill the flesh's desire.

Romans 6:12 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts,

My chains are gone, I've been set free.
My God, My Saviour has ransomed me.
And Like a Flood His Mercy Reigns.
Unending Love, Amazing Grace.

Thank You Lord, for making me Righteous.
For giving me the gift of standing before you, justified.

I started in Romans 6:11 and when it says to consider yourself dead to sin, W.E. Vine says that is by imputation just like you impute righteousness. You don't impute righteousness unless you are guilty just as you don't impute deadness to the old man unless it is ALIVE.

primarily signifies "to reckon," whether by calculation or imputation, e.g., Gal 3:6 (RV, "reckoned"); then, to deliberate, and so to suppose, "account,"
-Vine's Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words.

Dead in Sin

It is true that left to our own devices we are all doomed to struggle unsuccessfully against our sinful tendencies. That's because before we can ever hope to be "dead to sin," all of us are born "dead in sin." Paul writes in Ephesians 2:1 that before we become Christians, we are all "dead in [our] transgressions and sins." Of course he does not mean that we are physically dead. Rather, the life of a person who has not experienced new life in Christ is characterized by spiritual death. This means that person is separated from God's salvation. But it also means that it is impossible for that person to produce spiritual fruit, to show signs of life. Imagine such a person as a dead branch broken from a tree in a storm. Where it lies on the ground, separated from its source of nourishment, it will never again produce tender buds or green leaves or sweet fruit.

Dead to Sin

That's the bad news. But Paul also delivers very good news. Remember that the only way to be free of sin is through death. Fortunately there is a way to die to sin without suffering physical death. Paul explains in Romans 6 that those who are in Christ, by faith and through baptism (v. 3), participate in his death on the cross. "For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin" (v. 6). In other words, because Christ died, those who are united with Christ have died, too. Moreover, Christ did not stay dead; God raised him from the dead. And just as we participate in Christ's death through faith, we also participate in his resurrection: "Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him" (v. 8).

If you are a Christian who continues to struggle with sin
you just can't shake, don't lose hope. Don't buy the world's message that sin is inevitable. Take heart from Paul's extraordinary claim: "you have been raised with Christ" (Col. 3:1)! As far as God is concerned, you are dead to sin, freed from its power.

What does it mean to be dead to sin? | Christian Bible Studies

King James Bible
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.-Romans 4:11

Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary

27. keep under—literally, "bruise the face under the eyes," so as to render it black and blue; so, to chastise in the most sensitive part. Compare "mortify the deeds of the body," Ro 8:13; also 1Pe 2:11. It is not ascetic fasts or macerations of the body which are here recommended, but the keeping under of our natural self-seeking, so as, like Paul, to lay ourselves out entirely for the great work.

my body—the old man and the remainders of lust in my flesh. "My body," so far as by the flesh it opposes the spirit [Estius] (Ga 5:17). Men may be severe to their bodies and yet indulge their lust. Ascetic "neglect of the body" may be all the while a more subtile "satisfying of the flesh" (Col 2:23). Unless the soul keep the body under, the body will get above the soul. The body may be made a good servant, but is a bad master.

bring it into subjection—or bondage, as a slave or servant led away captive; so the Greek.

preached—literally, "heralded." He keeps up the image from the races. The heralds summoned the candidates for the foot race into the race course [Plato, Laws, 8.833], and placed the crowns on the brows of the conquerors, announcing their names [Bengel]. They probably proclaimed also the laws of the combat; answering to the preaching of the apostles [Alford]. The The Christian herald is also a combatant, in which respect he is distinguished from the herald at the games.

a castaway—failing shamefully of the prize myself, after I have called others to the contest. Rejected by God, the Judge of the Christian race, notwithstanding my having, by my preaching, led others to be accepted. Compare the equivalent term, "reprobate," Jer 6:30; 2Co 13:6. Paul implies, if such earnest, self-denying watchfulness over himself be needed still, with all his labors for others, to make his own calling sure, much more is the same needed by the Corinthians, instead of their going, as they do, to the extreme limit of Christian liberty.

So like I said, this is more Biblical than what you are preaching.

Chuckt;2546269 So like I said said:
I'll just stick with the scriptures that say that the old man died on the cross with Jesus and that we were raised in newness of life with Him...and to "reckon - take into account..factor it in as being true ..reckon is an accounting term " that we are dead to sin.

There are many posts in this thread from many people showing the scriptures on Christ becoming our righteousness. Believe it and receive all that our Lord has done for us!

Some parts of those commentaries that you put up are good and describe what is being said...not the ones that say the old man is still here..those are not inline with Gal 2:20 nor Romans 6:6.

Commentaries can help but they are a poor substitute for actual scriptures.

Romans 6:8-12 (NASB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
[SUP]9 [/SUP] knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] Even so consider ( in the same way or manner - that what happened to Christ) yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

[SUP]12 [/SUP] Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, ( so don't let the sin that is in our flesh rule us...we rule over it by the Spirit inside of us - the new creation in Christ )

We still have to deal with sin in the flesh and it will be there until we go to be with the Lord.

I guess we can just agree to disagree about the old man being dead even though there are a multiple of scriptures that say the old man is a "goner".

Have a great day! ..Bless you..:)
