Amen! I am the righteousness of God in Christ!

God is always pleased when we "agree" with Him. He is always pleased when we acknowledge the Son and not our own righteousness apart from the Son. All we have comes from God. [SUP]30 [/SUP]But [SUP][a][/SUP]by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, [SUP][b][/SUP]and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,

[SUP]21 [/SUP]He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.


Let the redeemed of the Lord say so. Amen

I remember Jimmy Swaggart on the television. I don't know that he had a degree or not. He had people with doctor degrees sitting on stage as to give him credibility or something. He got some other minister in trouble so the minister that he got in trouble took pictures of him and sold them to the National Inquirer or something. Now all the smart people who sat on his stage are soiled because of his sin.

I've talked to pastors before in forums. They are blind to their congregation's sin. I bring it up and they don't acknowledge it exists. Some are gracious and others don't talk to me again. Jimmy Swaggart comes from a pentecostal background so he has the same people in his midst. Whether he wants to acknowledge their sins is up to him or not. If he can't acknowledge their sins, it won't appear in his articles. A lot of pastors won't speak up about the sin in their community because it causes trouble, he doesn't get cooperation and they would find people fighting them. Jimmy Swaggart wrote an article and doesn't show research and isn't peer reviewed. Just because he wrote an article does not make it official or gospel truth. He wrote an article according to his educational level and we don't know that he went to college so therefore it can be very very lacking. A lot of people who are in college do a lot of research and a lot of colleges throw out Christian books because they have errors and are replaced by newer scholarship.

I went to college and I am granted all the rights and privileges of my degree according to the state that I earned my degree so therefore I'm entitled to my opinion whether or not you can understand it and whether or not you are using your not understanding me argument as an excuse..

OK it seems your issue is with Jimmy Swaggart, which is fine. I'm confused though because the first paragraph of your initial post and post seems to place both you and him on the same page. Did you even read the full article?

Also, by making you righteous, God is showing Himself righteous—“to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus”. (Romans 3:26)

Each time Jesus hears you confess, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ,” it brings much pleasure to His heart too, because you are laying hold of what He suffered and died to give you.

The Holy Spirit, who now indwells you to convict you of righteousness (John 16:10), also rejoices when you confess, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ.” He is pleased when you flow with Him.

The delight of the Godhead is not the only thing you gain when you declare, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ.” The Bible tells us that when you “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness…all these things shall be added to you”. (Matthew 6:33)

Whether it is food, clothing or other necessities in life, “all these things” will be added to you. They will not just be given to you, but added to you as your inheritance when you seek first His righteousness.

You don’t need to use your faith for every single need in life. You need to use your faith for one main thing—to believe that you are the righteousness of God in Christ, and it will cause all the blessings you seek to come after you and overtake you!

Something similar, I do believe I have mentioned my driving before a few times now, I am a good driver, it's every one else that isn't and especially when I am alone in the car. I can turn the air blue, (you know as think about it not so much recently, may be its this confessing to one another stuff working) ((I digress)), thing is instead of saying sorry Lord and feeling like a heal, I say Sorry Lord and "thank you", I am sorry that I have not let Jesus in me to His fullest or else I would not cuss, but the real relief comes when I say "Thank you" because I accept what He did on the cross 2000 years ago so when God sees me he sees the righteousness of Christ who died for me. Praise him.

Yes and discipline is linked to spiritual maturity. You're following a fallen man and not avoiding the appearance of evil.

Abstain from all appearance of evil. -1 Thessalonians 5:22

Unless he shows his credentialed, the laws of evidence say that he isn't as credible as a scholar.
I was taught the laws of evidence in college. If you want a doctor operating on you, you want someone who has practiced a procedure a 1,000 times instead of someone who has no experience in technical matters. If that doesn't matter to you then you might as well allow uncle joe to operate on you or someone not respected like Jack Kevorkian operate on you.

Let us not look to our own goodness but on the goodness of Jesus!

"Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Thess 1:11-12

Very much agree it's what Christ did and trusting that His finished work has given us forgiveness. So we thank Him for it, acknowledge Jesus and move forward better prepared to meet the next challenge with more faith in the One who saved us and gave us all things to run this race.
