Fruit of the spirit includes teaching correct doctrine. Without it we are lost. Teaching that the lord's prayer (or some part of it) is not for new covenant believers is not correct doctrine, and not of the spirit of GOD.
There is a simple principle of heirarchy in scriptural interpretation. Jesus's words take priority. He is our Lord.
One phrase that is confusing is in
For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
Matt 5:18
If this is true we are under the law, have to be Jews, with temple sacrifice and following the law of Moses.
Pauls argument is the law was fully accomplished in the cross, so we are now free.
But this is the only interpretation that makes sense, else Paul and the apostles would be wrong.
But Paul adds something else. We are slaves to righteousness, or as Peter/John put it, we follow the moral law, or the precepts of love and do not sin, because His Spirit is at work in us.
Now this is the reality. Jesus's words take precedence. Being a slave to righteousness is having love rule in your heart.
What is odd is knowing emotional reality is the thing that dominates. If we are in rebellion everything that flows from this is our focus, and we see everyone in this light. When we walk in love and forgiveness, suddenly everyone and everything looks different. If you have ever had this experience, your realise how much of life is governed by the spirit you walk in and what you put as most important. Faith is our anchor, upon this we choose how to view the world and walk.
