It seems to me, the answer to this question, could be taken directly from Jesus' mouth. "It's not what goes into a man, that defiles him." "It's what comes out, that defiles him."

"No man can tame the tongue," Good answer Naybor Bear, by the way.
When our tongue becomes tamed by the Holy Spirit, "The same is a perfect man."
The fruit of the Spirit...

Yes, I agree that is wisdom. :)
Also though, there are 2 relevant verses.
1. Love covers a multitude of sins.
2. Whoever shows mercy will be shown mercy himself.

There is also one that states, to my understanding, that whatever measure or scale we use on others will be the same scale used to weigh us.

And another - God detests unequal weights. Weighing in our favor and not equally, seeing that we have sometimes done the same types of things to others that we are intending to nurse a grudge over, thinking they should not be completely forgiven but we should, is putting your thumb on the scale. It is the parable of the man whose debt was forgiven who then went out and demanded payment of another mans debt.

For this, verse right here I'm not exactly sure what you mean. I do understand the whole wanting others to confess their sins or pay for them or whatever. But the whole weigh thing is a touch confusion. Could you possibly find the verse or share it?

Lol, I don't know if this is good or bad. But I have a tattoo on my arm that says where Mercy is shown Mercy is given.

I'm having trouble understanding the second part of this verse.

Proverbs 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it eat it's fruit.

Does it refer to the power the tongue has? Such as, filling someone up with encouragement or tearing them down completely. If so what exactly are it's fruit?

If you love the evil words you say you will eat of the fruit of Gods wrath..

If you love the loving worlds you say you will eat of the fruit of Gods Eternal blessings..

If you hate the evil words you have said then Gods mercy is open to you, and if accessed, you will eat of the fruit of Gods Eternal blessings..

2 Thessalonians 2: KJV

8 "And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: {9} Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, {10} And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. {11} And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: {12} That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

MATT. 4:4.
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

LUKE 6:45.
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good;
and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil:
for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Lol, I don't know if this is good or bad. But I have a tattoo on my arm that says where Mercy is shown Mercy is given.

The verse is: I detest unequal weights. Its stated a few places in the OT.

An example: I get my feelings hurt when mom speaks sharply or impatiently to me or I catch her rolling her eyes behind my back. Even an impatient sigh while I am speaking can hurt my pride.

So I nurse my hurt feelings and nurse my hurt pride by giving her the cold shoulder for a while, because she hasn't apologized. Eventually, she asks if I'm mad about something. That's the opportunity to clear the air but I want to nurse my wounded pride and be hatefully cold for longer, so I don't take that opportunity and instead give an imperious sniffle and say, no I'm not mad.

But the Spirit shows me times I have rolled my eyes behind her back or spoke with an impatient harshness, for which I want her to immediately forgive me.

So I am murdering her in my heart without cause. The reason I have no cause is because I have also been guilty of the very thing I'm murdering her over. you have heard it said that you must not murder but I say to you, whoever is angry at his brother without cause has already murdered him.

This is the spirit of the words. God reads the hearts intent and hears our inner angry mutterings. He sees my unequal weights where I want to be forgiven immediately but want to hold back my forgiveness and "make her suffer." I demand payment but don't want her to demand that same payment when I do the same thing to her. That is judging between her and me with unequal weights.

Okay yes, that makes perfect sense. And I too have been guilty of this as well. I just try to remember I'm not the judge and the only perfect one is Jesus! But I definitely need to place the being angry without cause verse in my heart!

wow, stunned,

this is quite a personal 'witness', TY. hopefully this is a 'new revelation' for you,
for with our Love for our Saviour, it would seem that He would/will very soon
give you the desire and the strength to 'over-come' such dis-respect for your
Mother, and a great desire to correct your abhorrent ways...

Christians who constantly talk doubt, in effect, talk "death." Those who speak the word of God speak "life."

Remember the scripture says, "Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones." Proverbs 16:24 NIV

My spirit is very willing but my flesh is weak. Humility comes hard. There is a tyrant in me that thinks herself worthy of a level of respect even she does not give others that same respect she demands from them. She has had many hard tumbles because pride comes before a fall. I hope our Lord will be pleased to let her take many more tumbles to make me pleasing to Him. :)

And also Proverbs 12:18 The words of the reckless Pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

But thanks also, for the extra wisdom you just blessed me with appreciate it!

PI, I have enjoyed meeting you and talking with you so much! :)
I'm off to read ahwatukees blog on Revelation before bed but I hope to get to know you better and talk with you a lot more!

Lol, its refreshing to hear someone else talk about themselves in third person or whatever I don't know. For instance, I'm constantly telling the other girl inside of me to go away because she does not please God at all. And she's very defiant and loves to break the rules and just is very annoying most of the time! I figure we all have that side of us, just not too many people talk about it. So kudos!

No doubt! If I'm not around I'm with Jesus somewhere, but when he goes off to help one of his other children I'll be back :)

Galatians 2:20-21 King James Version (KJV)[SUP]
[/SUP]

[SUP]20 [/SUP]I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me (Supernatural Power): and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God (to release this Supernatural Power, our Faith must be placed and maintained exclusively in Christ and the Cross, i.e., The Finished Work of Christ, i.e., The Blood of Jesus), who loved me, and gave himself for me.
[SUP]
[/SUP]

[SUP]21 [/SUP]I do not frustrate the grace of God (I do not hinder the flow of the Holy Spirit): for if righteousness come by the law (the flesh), then Christ is dead in vain.

The answer to scripture is found in other scriptures- one of which says that we will give an account for even every idle word. You reap what you sow. So those who had the power to cause death by their words will reap the fruit of those words- which would be hell in that case. Those who speak the words of life (Christ’s Word) will reap the fruit of eternal life (if nothing else hinders them).

The creative tongue of God alone has the power of eternal life as he freely gives us ears the ear to hear what the Spirit is saying to the church..

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, "hath everlasting life" and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

The Tongue of God by which God draws men unto himself it works in us, it persuades us. If he has begun the good work of His tongue in us he will finish it.He is our confidence.

Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

Some say sticks and stones can break bones but names could never hurt. The tongue of man can kill by saying unkind words. It cannot break the Son of Man's bones.

Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe. For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.Joh 19:32

I have to say John 19:32 is my favorite of all these verses. And thank you for sharing this I would've never thought of it like that, but it makes perfect sense. That God absolutely does speak words of life.
