Hey Everyone!!

Maybe this is just me, but I'm always amazed when someone tries to predict the Day of The Coming of The Lord or The End of the World or The Day of Judgment... Why not, The Day When The Weather Forecasters Are 100% Accurate, or The Day When Bell Bottoms Are Back In Fashion... It might actually be a more constructive use of their time!

Seriously, I've always wondered what part of "No one knows the day or hour" or "It will come like a thief in the night" do these people not understand? I've read that they come up with these dates through meticulous mathematical calculations... Kind of reminds me of the time when David took a census of his military (2 Samuel 24) that was not God-approved... and had to choose one of three very unpleasant punishments as a result (vs. 11-17). Perhaps I'm misinterpreting, but I take these kinds of things as further examples of the times when we humans trust our own reasoning and fancy number-crunching rather than taking God at His Word...

Whenever I hear, "The Lord is coming on XX/XX/XXXX," I always tell myself, "Well, one thing's for sure... it ain't gonna be that day! Thank you Lord! If it's not the day before, maybe I'll plan a picnic or something..."

Hope I'm not stepping on any toes here but just wanted to say, CONGRATS!!! WE'VE ALL SURVIVED THE RAPTURE TODAY!!! (If something happens at 11:59 PM tonight, I'll write another post and take it all back--whoops, I guess I won't able to, seeing as I will hopefully have been collected by the Lord...)

What about all of you? How do you feel about all the supposed end-of-the-world predictions?

Please note that I am NOT trying to make fun of a serious subject... However, I AM poking a little fun at the "Pack Your Rapture Bag and Be Waiting 'Cuz Jesus is Coming TODAY!" mindset...

What if, when it does happen (if it happens during our life time), you aren't taken? How would you cope?

Also, this is leaving me a bit confused. Do they mean that it is supposed to be the Rapture or the "End of the World"?
 
The Raptures comes before the "End of the World". I laugh at guys like Camping, but I feel sorry for him because he seems to be so deluded with his heresy that he actually believes it. As much fun as it is to joke about him, we really need to pray for him and his followers that they'll come to accept Biblical Christianity not the wacko version they practice.
 
I wont be taken so if it happens during my life time... those who have wronged me better watch out. Because there will officially be no law ;)
 
I was watching a clip on u-tube and a mother was sitting beside here two daughters and was realy emotional because she said that she was hopeing to be able to see her daughters have kids but now they will not be able to because of the rapture. It's unbelievable how golable people are. I guess that is what happens when you put your faith in man. Expecialy Herald Camping. My guess is that Herald Camping is going to have to recalculate and make it another date.
 
I called one of my friends today and asked her if it was really her talking to me on the phone. She said what do you mean, I said I was calling to make sure I didnt miss the Rapture. She went off yelling and screaming about how crazy she thought those people were.

I think it is sad too Seoul, how people dont understand the scripture. Its very blatant. How can you possibly come back and say "We can know the day." To me that is obviously contrary to God and you should stay away from those people and their teachings. Not to mention Camping had predicted the Rapture to be in 1994 and then later chnged it after he was still here.
 
May 22, 2011--I have to admit I'm now tempted to get a big bumper sticker that says, "I Survived the May 21st, 2011 Rapture."

Although, as JD pointed out, it could just be that we are all left behind... And I DO understand that value in praying for people who are deceived like this, but it gets to a point where the person perpetrating it isn't just "deceived"--he's blatantly refusing to heed what God clearly states in His Word. I mean... I can understand ONE Rapture "prediction"--we all make mistakes, right?

But when someone REPEATEDLY insists that he can calculate things that God clearly says are hidden from man (and even angels... Jesus said that even angels long to look into such things...), that's not your basic garden-variety unbelief--it's clearly choosing to go your own way instead of God's (personally, it seems like the guy behind this is all about self-glorification and not God's.)

I don't mean this in a fire-and-brimstone way... I mean it in a "test the spirits" and "God commands us to use wisdom and discernment" kind of way.

And if I was left behind... I'm glad to see I'm among such great company! :D
 
yeah, which means I survived to my birthday, today, May 22nd.

One more year on this earth. I am getting a little older, not confessing oldness, don't need old age issues at a young age.

Thank to myself, God, and a few, and I mean a few, I'm still here.

I sang happy birthday to myself, much better than being sung to, I hate it, it is my top most annoying thing about people's habits and traditions.

Sorry, I have to marry and find a humble man friend, because that kind of attention I hate, and would kick you out of my life in minute for being so superficial.

God Bless for making me remember my birth and yet more to come.
 
The sad part of this is, That now he will be a punchline for all nonbelivers and we will have to work all the harder to win souls for Christ.. Thx Bra u just made my job harder
 
I'm pretty positive Harold Camping is going to hell.
Jesus pretty much makes it clear about these guys.

This is why Im not overly sympathetic or even prayerful of a man like Harold Camping.

Look at the definition of numerology:

  • The study of the occult meanings of numbers and their supposed influence on human life.

  • (Spirituality, New Age, Astrology & Self-help / Alternative Belief Systems) the study of numbers, such as the figures in a birth date, and of their supposed influence on human affairs.

  • a form of divination involving numbers. Also called arithmancy.
Now correct me if Im wrong but heres what I found out about Mr Camping. He came up with a form of number patterns that he took from the bible (esp from the OT) and dates of several Jewish festivals in order to come up with the rapture date. The last time he did this was in 1994, and the rapture date he made came and went and his public statement was that it didnt happen because he forgot to include number patterns from the book of Jeremiah. Now I dot know about you but what 'study' he did sounds overly like numerology with the tltle 'christian' in front of it to make it look special and important.

Secondly, in his interviews and former transcripts, he mentions God a lot but never mentions Jesus. But then so do a lot of Agnostics, Spiritualists, New Ageists, Pantheists, Muslims, Jews and every other person whose favorite catchphrase is OMG. Heres a hint - if they don't mention Jesus, you can at least come to the very clear hypothesis that they arent Christian (Christ - ian). Hello?! too many christians are duped by this lack of discernement.

Lastly, and this is my biggest reason as to why some Old Testament judgement should be done to this guy. Hes managed to convince a lot of guliible Christians to stop goig to church because by his rechoning and study the age of going to church is over. And this guy is a preacher??!!

Hes not a christian yet proclaims himself a christian teacher/prophet
Hes using occult methods to author the date of an event that will effect the whole planet even though the bible has been explicitly clear that it is impossible, which tells you he thinks hes smarter than or at least on the same intellectual level as God AND
Hes telling people to stop going to church.

Personally I think hes in cahoots with Satan. Plus he looks like Gollum lol.

Apparently he's going to address the public tomorrow, with a response to his 'failed prophesy'... I'm eagerly waiting. Should be fascinating.

Apparently he has been quoted as being 'FLABBERGASTED'... whatever that means?
 
I pay those people no mind whatsoever. When the day comes that He returns and takes us to be with Him. I will be overjoyed. I will not care about those I leave behind because I will be basking in the glory of God. If I am one of those left behind I will be living in the absence of His love but I will be happy with His decision.
