but how are wacky and insane conspiracy theories relevant to anything Christian or biblical?

You could say the same for the News forum. I find it interesting to see which conspiracy theories are doing the rounds.
Some of them are light relief from heavy spiritual and not so spiritual stuff on other forums. But then Im probably a little wacky and insane myself.

Hmm... would it not be more useful to have a conspiracy theory listed, then speak to the truth behind it vs the fiction?
Maybe we can see where people fall off the road and bring it back to the underlying truth?

I have to be honest. I am embarased to comment on this site. Because people are not very serious on this site. They seem to be more interested in what kind of nut the are. Than a good logical bible conversation. But I will say my peace and get off here. The truth is out there, And it can be found in the Bible. The conspiracies should not be looked at as truth or lies. They are wishful thinking or plans that have not been carried out yet. The Bible says that Christ foretold us all things. We as Christians should study for our selves so that we are not deceived. By any man especially that man that has the number of the beast. Who comes before the true Christ returns. The lies and conspiracies come from a Family that has been around since Cain. Because they are the children of Cain. They are playing an important roll in Gods plan. But the lesson is they have been around since the begining working there fathers plan. They have done it over and over so many times that have gotten quit good at it. But now we are at the end and they know something big is going to happen. And they have been doing it so long they are intigrated with everything. And unlike any other time in history there is no where for us to go and no way out. Our only chance is for us to place our faith in Christ that he will protect us and get us out of this.
Thats my peace. Thank you. I will leave now, bye

Don't leave. Stay. We need more people on here who understand these kinds of things...

- who understand the true nature of things.

- who understand the true history of things.

- who understand the true reality of things.

etc. etc. etc.

:)

This site is for fellowship as well as discussion. Sometimes there is friendly amusing banter and sometimes things get a little heated. There are many on this site that are definitely worth knowing. You really haven't given this site a chance as you are ready to quit after only 4 days and 7 posts. I hate to see anyone leave regardless of the reason so I'm asking you to please reconsider. If not, safe passage to you.

if a bag of potato chips hangs up in a vending machine then it must be some evil government conspiracy

Well, HEY!....... When you're talking about serious things like THAT, you simply cannot deny conspiratorial involvement.

I think that it exists on this site as a type consciousness expanding type of sub category ya know to assist people in considering more than one answer and I think that it is great for that.

Didn't people think that Jesus was a buffoon because of his opinions on morality? I think that I read that they thought that he was crazy and the ruling government thought that he was conspiring against them because what he was teaching went against their lifestyle.

That would have made him a conspiracy theorist, like some on this forum.

Isaiah 8:12-14New King James Version (NKJV)

[SUP]12 [/SUP]“Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’
Concerning all that this people call a conspiracy,
Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]The Lord of hosts, Him you shall hallow;
Let Him be your fear,
And let Him be your dread.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]He will be as a sanctuary,
But a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense
To both the houses of Israel,
As a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

HISTORY and CONTEXT show this verse has nothing to do with "conspiracy theories."

1. This chapter never uses the word "theory"... so it would be unwise to turn the word "conspiracy" here into the phrase "conspiracy theory."

It's just not what the text says.

2. This chapter was written about 3,000 years ago... that's about 3,000 years before we even had the modern term, or concept, of "conspiracy theory."

The term "conspiracy theory", in it's modern understanding and usage, didn't even exist until about 1960.

3. There is a lot of translation dispute about these particular verses of Isaiah.

What you're reading may not be the correct translation at all.

4. CONTEXT:
To even CONSIDER this is talking about "conspiracy theory" in any modern sense of the word, is to COMPLETELY MISUNDERSTAND the entire chapter.

Contextually, this just has nothing to do with "conspiracy theory"... that isn't what's going on in the chapter.
Assyria is about to attack Judah, and God is instructing them not to WORRY and FEAR and thus start CREATING ALLIANCES (actual conspiracies, or confederacies) with outside nations, to fight against Assyria.
Judah was not to make alliances (conspire) with outside nations; they were to fight Assyria on their own.

God is literally saying, "when people start talking about conspiring with other nations (allying with them) don't LISTEN to that talk, and don't DO that."

This has nothing to do with the phrase "conspiracy theory" which means a crazy bunch of FALSE RUMORS.
But rather, this means DO NOT CONSPIRE, or LISTEN TO THOSE TALKING ABOUT CONSPIRING for an ACTUAL BATTLE.
This is not about false rumors... this is about real conspiring... talking to others, and planning with them, to form alliances for a battle.

Conspiracy Theory
= Talk about something FAKE.
Conspiracy = Talk about something REAL, in order to plan something REAL.

I recommend you read the entire chapter, with the aid of some good commentaries.

Now that we see this verse has nothing to do with "Conspiracy Theories",
is it right or wrong for a Christian to discuss conspiracy theories?

I'll leave that discussion for others.

That's not the point I came in here to make.

I only came here to show the context of Isaiah 8 has nothing to do with "conspiracy theories."

I'm probably going to be accused of trolling here but since we are biblically instructed not to adhere to conspiracy theories, it leads me to wonder why this forum is even here?
You are unaware the Devil is "conspiring" to set up his Antichrist world government?? I guess if you adhere to some weird non-literal interpretation of the Bible, you might dismiss this conspiracy.

The Bible talks about the "schemes" of the Devil. That is to say...the conspiracies of the Devil. You're kind of funny with your rigid anti-"conspiracy theory" viewpoint. ALL THE WORLD is "conspiring". Everybody is conspiring at some point. Politicians are conspiring. Business leaders are conspiring. Putin is conspiring. Obama, Bush, Trump...all conspiring. It is quite silly to claim there are no conspiracies.

If you believe in the Ken-and-Barbie/Pleasantville/Truman Show version of 9/11...the government's official version of 9/11...then you obviously believe Bin Laden "conspired" to perpetrate 9/11.

You obviously believe in the conspiracy theory...that the Japs conspired to sneak attack Pearl harbor.

On and on we could go with all the conspiracy theories you believe in.

Uh-oh -- you believe in conspiracy theories. Now what??

I think what you mean is...it is "wacky" to believe in any conspiracy theory not sanctioned by your mind-controlling media overlords. You believe only in "officially sanctioned" information...which has been spoon-fed to you through the media elites of CBS, NBS, Fox News, CNN, etc..

And below, we have thousands of credentialed architects and engineers who are laughing themselves silly at your Bin Laden conspiracy theory and who have offered $10,000 to any other credentialed architect or engineer who would be willing to debate on behalf of the official 9/11 story...with no takers after any number of years. Go ahead -- laugh at this fifteen minute docu. It's hilarious:

I guess for me we have to be careful what we consider to be a conspiracy. i do alot of research especially what people consider to be a "conspiracy." Most often I find that it turns out to be prophecy. The word of God tells us to find out the truths behind prophecy and history. In the times of the prophets many did not believe what they were saying and thought they were crazy. Thank God for truth, His truth.

ive only begun doing research on the flat earth theory and as for the creatures you mentioned i believe in the bigfoot and as for the aliens and reptilians I still haven't come to a conclusion but so far what i gather is that they too are connected to the fallen angels somehow... but haven't really made a connection in my research...there is a movie called King Solomon...its quite curious what He says in the end and that is where my research ended...

In my research "Aliens" are a lie to introduce the concept of demons/angels to our society, under a different guise. They will present them to us as angels here to help us with whatever, war, the environment, political differences, but The Truth will be that they are agents of the Antichrist/Satan or something very close to the concept of fallen angels.

"Allistor Crowley" the upper echelon Satanist describes the appearance of demons to be very very earily similar with that of Aliens depicted in hollywood or 1950's "Area 51" propoganda.

"Reptilians" are also a complete lie, our "elite" politicians or royalty want to deceive those who would believe that they are demons or some kind of "superior" race that feeds on us like the parasite they truly are. They are more comfortable pretending they are monsters because they can't look themselves in the mirror and say they are human like us without their conscious hitting them with intense guilt.

I will look into this movie and maybe watch it. Thank you for taking me seriously.

I didn't quote from the Bible and I said "a theory theorized" so someone said "maybe this is what God meant in the Bible" that someone is me,and what my theory has to do with is similarities in world events now to events foretold in the Bible.

So what im talking about is some people actually say that people like me that think that the world may be ending are conspiring to spread disinformation.

So what I said was when those "conspiracy theories" of MINE..NOT the Bibles come true are they still conspiracy theories?

no just saying we have to be careful what is considered a conspiracy...just saying research should be done

we are biblically instructed not to adhere to conspiracy theories

You mean like this one???

1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour

'Ol slewfoot always has a plan to jack somebody up...

Jesus told us the 5 things he uses to choke God's Word, but we are the ones that allow satan's devices in that can choke the Word... we should grow and learn how to not do that and STAND on God's Word.

Mark 4:13-20
And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
The sower soweth the word.
And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.
And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

when i read about prophecy i do see that it becomes a conspiracy. I don't think the end of the world is a conspiracy it is prophecy. We need to focus on prophecy not conspiracies.
