You stated, "statistics you've seen," sounds like confirmation bias.

I was asking you a question.

You said that "Most young adults are still living with their parents," but you don't cite any evidence of that.

Never mind. I don't want to sidetrack this discussion even further, haha.

You don't know anyone? Hey, how about you yourself, quote, "Believers can and should have marriages that are the envy of their non Christian friends and acquaintances?" And you may be astonished to know that the salvation of our soul is found in the precious blood of our Lord alone, not the blood plus marriage, plus kids, plus wealth, plus dashing appearance, plus any worldly things. A unique Christian privilege is a close relationship with God the Creator of the universe through Jesus our Lord and Savior, we are able to love others only because He first loved us, anything else such as marriage is added bonus, which God can give and take away.
Give it a break. You find a way to twist anything anyone says about what is a normal relationship that was instituted by God Himself. You do not know what the salvation of the soul is, either. I'll not enlighten you. It's pointless.

Then plz cite your stats and show me most are not.

Salvation at the bare minimum is contentment in the relationship with Lord Jesus, anything else is a bonus. Are you content?

A recent New York Times article says a "third." For example.

Oh, boy. Time for another tangent that has little to do with the purported subject of this thread.
Alright, show me any stats that suggest "most" adults under 35 live independently and seek marraige. "Man shall leave his parents" is just the bare minimum. I've been living in my own place ever since I graduated from college. Besides, how "young" is young? That article defined it as under 35, that sounds too old to me.

What does that have to do with anything?

Originally, you raised the point that "most" young adults are still living with their parents. I think you raised this in connection with your argument that it's unwise for "most" people to pursue marriage.

But now you seem to doubt the idea that most young people want to be married. I don't know how many young people want to be married. But that doesn't change the fact that lots of young people do desire marriage and do get married.

Do you just enjoy arguing online? I suspect I know the answer.

You approach a girl as a stranger, you're a perp up to no good, that's the contemporary mores.
Not sure if I understand.
"Perp" ??? What is that?
"Contemporary mores" what is that?

I approach a girl as a stranger? I am a woman. If I do approach a girl as a stranger in store, church, office, road, usually it is very innocent social interaction, asking for watermelon 🍉 price, welcome a new visitor to church, say hello to a new colleague, asking for direction.
In Japan, Iceland, ny, Taiwan, people are very friendly, they are very willing to give directions, in person, on streets.

Thank God for general humanity are still kind.

"Perp" is short for "perpetrator," often interpreted as a predator stalking a piece of prey.

Thank you 😊 💓
Alert 📢 agree. But be smart and know boundaries.

One time a new visitor at church fixed my car right after service. Praise God for sending angels 😇 🙏

Another time I helped a guy at gas station for his door issue. Praise God for giving us opportunities to serve others.

Is it wise to pursue marriage when you can hardly manage and sustain yourself?

Does a third of young adults, using that article's criteria, count as "a lot"?

And once again, you can desire whatever you want, it outcome is determined by God. You can desire marriage, but whoever you pursue to marry, whether they genuinely desires to marry you, is not up to you.

Go google it yourself. Unfortunately in my culture and my neighborhood, there's no such thing. If one approaches another, they ain't strangers. If they're, they won't approach one another.

Yeah, those are "normal" social interactions; but if they appear to be interested in you, interducing themselves and asking for your personal information, I don't know about you, ma'am, I'm not quite this would look like an "angel".

This may be surprising to you, but actually, yes and no, I'm only super argumentative on this one particular issue due to personal grievances.

This is a historical tragedy, if you think this is all nonsense or irrelevant, plz ignore. But in case you don't know, it all goes back to the "sexual revolution" in the late 60s; the church's response was "purity culture", which was, keep your virginity and restrain from sex until marriage; however, it implies that IF your keep your virginity and restrain from sex, you'll be rewarded by God with godly partner and happy marriage, that is essentially a form of false prosperity gospel; further, this purity culture put extra pressure on young women and shamed them for their sexuality. The backlash for that was the "hookup" culture, from the late 90s to mid 10s, as a sign of power, independence and liberation, even a rite of passage in a lot of colleges and high schools, that was obviously exploitative of women.

And then came the #MeToo movement, at first it was just an exposure of such abusers, exploiters and perps, a cry for due justice, but it exploded into a systematic hostility between men and women, social trust in general was greatly eroted. And the church's response, as far as I know, is either catering to the women, clinging onto the purity culture, alienating singles by prioritizing on married couples only, or all three. And don't get me started on the phone addiction, as everybody is constantly glued to their phones.

And believe it or not, man, this is not me complaining about anything of this; quite the contrary, it dawns on me the folly of dating and leads me to contentment in Jesus alone. You insist that dating is still fine and dandy, alright, good luck with all the dating apps that are deliberately designed to keep you single so you are perpetually subscribed to these apps.

What are you trying to prove? Whatever it is, you are failing. Why not pull your head and get on with your own Christian walk. I don't get upset because you choose to be single. You irritate me because of your unbiblical and jaundiced view of marriage. As I've said before, if you were taking notice, I've been married for 13 of my 50 plus years in the Lord. I was single and content for around 25 years. I'm married now and content, and have been for nearly four years.

I have been able to serve the Lord as a married man in ways that I could not do if I was single. My wife is an invaluable partner in my ministry. If that is not what you want, that's fine. I won't try to push marriage on you. How about not trying to push celibacy on others.

Or how about trying to not be so snobbish? What irritates me is this dangerously false prosperity gospel of marriage, that God will reward your faith and devotion with happy marriage, and happy marriage in return shows your faith and devotion. Maybe that's your conviction, that's totally biblical to you, forgive me for exposing it as what it is, a false prosperity gospel.

I don't push celibacy on others, go try your luck and sleep around if you wish; but I can assure you, grandpa, that if that I had been doing that in my youth, if I'd been obsessed with girls, I'd never bother to know Jesus in the first place.

Is it wise to pursue marriage when you can hardly manage and sustain yourself?

Of course not. But you seem to think that every Christian of marriageable age falls into this category. I don't know why you're so certain. Do you personally know every single Christian in the world?

Does a third of young adults, using that article's criteria, count as "a lot"?

The way I understand it, you don't believe that "a lot" of Christians should stay single. You believe that everyone should stay single.

And once again, you can desire whatever you want, it outcome is determined by God. You can desire marriage, but whoever you pursue to marry, whether they genuinely desires to marry you, is not up to you.

Yeah, sure, boss. Therefore, no one should bother with marriage, right? What if all or most of the current Christian married couples did do so with God's blessing? Do you have any way of knowing whether this is the case or not? What insight, exactly, do you have into the married lives of x-billion other married Christians currently living on Earth? Or is is just speculation on your part that these people all made a dreadful mistake?

I know every genuine Christian doesn't get baptized for matchmaking service.

Then you understand wrong. I believe married stay married, singles stay single.

I don't speak on behalf of all the Christians, you do, you use that concept as a strawman tactic.

I know every genuine Christian doesn't get baptized for matchmaking service.

Well, yeah. But I don't get baptized to get a job, either. Guess I should never bother looking for a job, then!

Then you understand wrong. I believe married stay married, singles stay single.

But how did those married people get married in the first place? Didn't they make a mistake? Because they should have stayed single instead?

I don't speak on behalf of all the Christians, you do, you use that concept as a strawman tactic.

But you keep saying that all Christians who are currently single should stay single, aren't you?
